Issue: Trouble during payment process

Consumer Complaint: Our mortgage was sold from XXXX XXXX to Chase Mortgage effective as of XX/XX/XXXX. We made first mortgage payment of {$2100.00} to Chase on XX/XX/XXXX. Our mortgage with XXXX XXXX has never had an escrow account and we pay our own taxes and insurance. Prior to loan transfer from XXXXXXXX XXXX in XXXX & XXXX we were notified by XXXX that we had a lapse in coverage of homeowners insurance for 20 days from XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX. We contacted XXXX XXXX and our insurance company XXXX XXXX and advised there had been a mistake made by XXXX XXXX. We also provided a copy of a certificate of insurance from XXXX XXXX to XXXXXXXX XXXX which indicated on the form that XXXX XXXX made an error in the start date of coverage and that it should be XX/XX/XXXX. In the meantime, XXXXXXXX XXXX canceled the force placed insurance but transferred our loan with a balance of {$180.00} owed for escrow to Chase Mortgage. Chase mortgage processed our XXXX payment in the amount of {$2100.00} which is our P & I monthly payment and advised we would now have an escrow account for insurance and also pay the {$180.00} lapse in coverage. I have been communicating with Chase since XXXX to have the escrow account removed and was notified on XX/XX/XXXX that they have removed the escrow account ; however, they have now added the {$180.00} for a lapse in coverage to our monthly payment for a total of {$2100.00}. They have added {$15.00} per month to our payment to pay for the {$180.00} lapse in coverage we shouldn't have to pay because we never had a lapse in coverage. I have repeatedly explained this to Chase insurance department, escalation department and customer service department and somehow as a mix up between XXXX XXXX and Chase Bank XXXX, as the consumer, which hasn't done anything wrong is left to pay {$180.00} we don't owe. I want the {$180.00} removed from my mortgage payment and a letter stating the same. Please provide assistance to get this issue resolved. I believe we have a XXXX XXXX backed loan. Our loan number with Chase is # XXXX. I have uploaded the certificate of insurance from XXXX XXXX with information indicated the error was from their agent and the correct dates of coverage. This information was provided to Chase. If needed, I can provide you additional correspondence from Chase regarding this issue. Thank you advance for your assistance. XXXX and XXXX XXXX

Issue: Problem caused by your funds being low
Subissue: Overdrafts and overdraft fees
Consumer Complaint: Due to change in my finances it has been almost XXXX years since I have incurred an overdraft fees. It has been so long that Chase revised its policy and anything under {$50.00} is not subject to an overdraft fee. Also, they now allow customers to add and transfer money to bring the back to good standing. I was informed by Chase that my account was in the negative and to transfer money to avoid an overdraft fee. I transferred money from my XXXX XXXX account to bring the account back to good standing. Yesterday I was informed once again that my account was at a negative and to deposit money. I had XXXX hours. I have an email dated XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX XXXX stating I still have time to add money to my account, screenshot attached. Over {$800.00} posted at XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX well within the XXXX hours given. Even though I complied with all of XXXX policies I was still charged {$100.00} in overdraft feeds. XXXX {$34.00} fees. I am requesting the fees be reversed as I did everything necessary to avoid my account going into the negative. Thank you.

Issue: Getting a credit card
Subissue: Sent card you never applied for
Consumer Complaint: I am reaching out for support on an issue I encountered when I attempted to open a new Chase credit card account using the online form ( United Explorer Card ) on XX/XX/23. After pressing the submit button I received an error message : " It looks like this isn't working right now. Please try again later. Thanks for your patience. '' ( Image attached ) A few minutes later I filled out and submitted the application again as prompted by the error message the first time. The second time I received a confirmation of a successful application. After that, I received two emails in quick succession with approvals for two newly created credit card accounts. It appears the first application which gave me an error did, in fact, go through and was accepted despite telling me the opposite. I have spoken at length with the phone representatives for account services, lending, and credit - including supervisors. I have had an open case with the Chase XXXX XXXX resolution team for over a month with no progress. Everyone seems to understand the issue but no one has been able to help me with this issue. I have been told that I should not have been approved for two separate accounts for the exact same card but no one can fix it.

Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: On XXXX XXXX I booked overnight lodging through a travel agency with a hotel in the amount of {$110.00} specifically due to their posted offer of a free airport shuttle service since I was in a short layover situation and would not be renting a car. When I arrived at the airport and called for the shuttle they desk clerk told me the shuttle was not available. I told her I wanted to cancel my reservation and she stated she could not do so because I booked the room through the subject travel agency and they did not have the ability to handle the cancellation. I immediately called the travel agency and explained the situation and they stated ( in summary ) that I would have to call the hotel to implement the cancellation. There was no way to handle this with either party since they were both pointing at each other. I did not stay at the hotel because I had no way to get there, ended up sleeping on a bench in the airport. I filed a dispute with Chase Visa and requested a full refund because the vendor did not provide the advertised service ( I included evidence of the airport shuttle service advertisement ). On XX/XX/XXXX I receive a letter from Chase stating that they had received evidence from the travel agency that disproved my claim and that it was attached for my review. There was nothing attached. The letter inquired as to whether I wanted to continue the dispute and I responded on XX/XX/XXXX, noting the lack of any " evidence '' to review and that their response had nothing to do with my claim, that I wished to continue the dispute. On or about XX/XX/XXXX I received another letter from Chase stating that they had closed the dispute finding in favor of the merchant with no explanation of how they arrived at that finding. I immediately called Chase customer service and spoke with XXXX ( Employee ID XXXX ) who listened to the situation and agreed that Chase had not responded to my complaint or provided rationale for closing the case and that it should be re-opened. He provided instructions on how to re-open the case which I mailed to Chase on XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX I received a letter from Chase that they were re-opening my dispute. On XX/XX/XXXX I received another letter from Chase stating that they " confirmed that the transaction you disputed are ( was ) valid ''. The letter provided no evidence or explanation as to how or why they arrived at this conclusion. It is still not clear to me whether they even read the complaint or understand the basis of my dispute since the communication focused entirely on the " transaction '' and mentions nothing about what actually occurred. I filed two disputes with Chase during the same timeframe for two separate issues. Chase combined both of these disputes into the same " record number '' even though they were very different circumstances and entirely unrelated vendors. It seems very clear to me that Chase is just pushing these complaints through and finding in favor of the vendor because they get paid for. I am hereby filing a formal complaint against both XXXX and Chase and am requesting assistance in remedying the fraudulent charges by the travel agency and further requesting investigation into Chase for their apparent failure to perform due diligence and to execute their responsibilities under the Fair Credit Billing Act of 1975.

Consumer Complaint: The existence of a derogatory rating on my account is causing me significant concern. I am deeply worried about its potential impact on my credit. It has already resulted in the denial of a recent loan application and an increase in the interest rates on my existing credit accounts. I want to emphasize the severe financial and emotional distress that this negative rating has caused me and will continue to cause until it is resolved.

Issue: Fees or interest
Subissue: Charged too much interest
Consumer Complaint: According to my Chase card statement, my payment of my {$1100.00} balance went through on XX/XX/23, after which my balance was {$0.00}, on the same day, XX/XX/23. I was then charged {$22.00} in interest on XX/XX/23, the day after my balance was {$0.00}. I am complaining that I was charged interest after my balance was {$0.00}. A {$0.00} balance should incur no interest. I tried calling Chase customer service to request a refund of the {$22.00} interest charge but was told by the representative that there was nothing she could do.
