Consumer Complaint: I was given a check drawn from an account at XXXX XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX which I deposited in my Chase Bank account. In XX/XX/XXXXXXXX the maker of the check contacted me and asked me if I had redeposited the check on XX/XX/XXXXXXXX as the funds were removed from his account again.. I told him that I had not and provided him with copies of my bank statement to show that I had not received additional funds. On XX/XX/XXXX, Chase debited my account by the amount of the check in question with the following explanation : " Debit for {$930.00}, an item was processed more than one time. The item posted on XX/XX/XXXX, and again on XX/XX/XXXX. Our reference number XXXX, Check Number XXXX, Deposit Location Number XXXX '' When I queried this with Chase after many phone calls, visits to the branch and complaints, I was advised that even though Chase knew I did not receive the funds twiceXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX told them to remove the funds from my account because the check had been deposited twice and Chase had no choice but to do what XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX said . They further advised that I should contact the maker of the check to tell him to file a complaint to XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX for an unauthorised presentation of the check XX/XX/XXXX and to verify that I was not the recipient of the funds of the second presentation. The maker kindly spent an hour and a half on the phone with XXXX XXXX XXXX who told him that they could not do anything and I should contact Chase to get my money back. I am a victim of bank fraud and both banks want to pass the buck to each other. I am enclosing copies of the check in question, bank statement showing the deposit of the check in XXXX, statement showing the second deposit in XXXX did not go into my account, and a statement showing teh debit by Chase.

Consumer Complaint: I deposited a tuition reimbursement check for {$1900.00} from my employer to my Chase checking account on Friday XX/XX/XXXX via the Chase mobile app. Within 20 or so minutes I received an email that stated We accepted your check ( s ), but your funds will be delayed for the following reason : Checks within this deposit may not be paid because of information we have received from the paying bank or due to information we have within our own files. This is the same account my employer uses for my biweekly direct deposits to this same Chase checking account for several years. My employer is a large company in XXXX and there has never been an issue with my check. I called customer service after the email on XX/XX/XXXX and was transferred to their holds department but they said no info on the check is visible yet and to call in a few hours. I called around 4 pm again and customer services said they did not see a hold on the transaction ( I saw a hold message on my online account ) and that my funds should be a available the next day and if not to call the holds department back to verify the funds. I called Chase again the next day, which was Saturday XX/XX/XXXX and the holds department said to call back Monday because they must speak with the bank the check is from during business hours. I called Monday XX/XX/XXXX and was placed on hold but then told that the band the check is from will not verify information to 3rd parties like Chase. The person on the phone did put in a back office request to release funds due to my positive account profile but advised that if I did not see the money available within 1-2 hours then that meant it was denied and would not be available until Mon XX/XX/XXXX. I need this money to lay this semester tuition and am struggling to understand the sudden issue with a check from my employer from their existing account which is from a major bank ( Amalgamated ).

Consumer Complaint: Below is the email that I sent to the CHASE EXECUTIVE ESCALATIONS email. They reply and the. Called multiple times. First the rep typed in the wrong case # on her inquiry and apologized for taking so long. Then she didnt send the request. Whoops. Then she will call me back and never did. How unprofessional! Explanation Below On XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX wrote : Long story short I took out an ad program with XXXX. Their XXXX XXXX is completely non-user friendly and I struggled even asking for help through XXXX I got the campaign going. I took {$500.00} per month ( my entire ad budget ) from XXXX and started a ad with XXXX. Well what was supposed to be {$210.00} per month for two ads they ended up twisting it around and taking {$500.00} per day from my account. The moment I realized what they were doing I went into XXXX and deleted the ad accounts. I messaged support and they said they would get right back to me and NEVER EVER did. I then called Chase. Issued a stop payment. I disputed the charges. I was told by Chase that they would mail a form that I need to send back in. The lady told me I would have a provisional credit. No credit came. I called and they said they are waiting for the form. I got mad and said they took a substantial amount of money and provisional means while you get things resolved. Not provisional after you get a form mailed. We went back and forth. Finally I found the form since it DID NOT COME VIA US MAIL AS PROMISED. I emailed it, faxed it and emailed it to the local branch asking him to fax and he confirmed he received and faxed successfully. Finally I got notice that the claim was closed because get this. I never returned the form. I moved money from my savings accounts with chase. Small amounts totaling probably $ XXXX to another bank. I am infuriated. How dare your bank rule against me for such a ridiculous reason. I said the charges were not authorized in that amount. I would never ever authorize that dollar amount for a small family business. I am your customer. You should have stood behind me. It was important to me that chase had my back. But you completely added to the frustration and broke my heart. I need someone to take action! I need to see that I matter. Please respond. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) XXXX Sent from my XXXX

Consumer Complaint: For the 4th time ( if not the 5th ) Chase allowed someone holding a fake ID to withdraw cash from my checking account, despite the fact that I've asked the Bank multiple times to protect my account by adding a flag to my account indicating historical fraud activities, adding a verbal passcode for counter services, and changing account number as suggested the banker -- - none have worked. Below is the timeline : On XX/XX/XXXX, someone withdrew {$3800.00} using a withdraw slip from my checking account. Discovered on XX/XX/XXXX and called Chase, filed a claim with claim number XXXX ; Followed up with Chase at the beginning of XXXX, met a banker at the branch and showed my ID ; Called Chase on XX/XX/XXXX for status update, was told it is still in investigation, and I needed to wait 5-8 business days ; Called Chase XX/XX/XXXX again for status update, was told I need to go to branch again for submitting photocopy of my ID, then I need to wait another XXXX days ; Visited Chase branch XX/XX/XXXX, asked a banker to copy my two forms of ID, was told it will take UNKNOWN period of time for them to complete the investigation. I told the banker that " XXXX business days '' is what I heard from the phone. The banker then ask me : who told you XXXX business days? do you have the name of the person who answered your call? I have to file this complaint on the : 1. the lengthy investigation period with XXXX communication. 2. lack of controls ( if exists ) to prevent fraudulent activities on my account. Checking account number : XXXX Asking for official explanation on : 1. Why didn't Chase bank prevent such incident from happening again and again? 2. What exact controls do we have as a Chase customer to prevent cashing from the counter? As I mentioned above, " adding flag '' and " adding passcode '' did not work at all, although these controls were suggested by a Chase banker. 3. What took so long for the investigators to complete their work? My two forms of ID have been provided to Chase back in XX/XX/XXXX when the 1st incident happened. 4. Why there was XXXX communication from the Bank during the investigation period? No email, no mail, no messages in the Chase app. Hoping from hearing from the Bank soon. Thank you for your assistants in this matter.

Consumer Complaint: I lost my card on XX/XX/2023, as well as my XXXX. It never has a lock on it as my FaceID was not working correctly. I noticed I lost my phone right away the night before, went back to where I lost it, it wasn't found. I was wearing gym shorts with shallow pockets and the card, but didn't realize my card was missing as it was also in my pocket along with my phone. I noticed big amounts were taken out from my card from a company in a matter of an hour or two that morning called XXXX in the amounts of {$140.00} and {$730.00}. I contacted Chase ( my primary bank ) and they promised a resolution over the phone within 10 business days, and got sent a new card out immediately. This was XXXX XXXX XXXX, it is now nearly a month later. They temporary credited the amount- but it is still in a dispute process which I believe they have yet to attend to. I contacted chase a second time because the dispute was doubled on the {$730.00} charge to {$1400.00} - but they credited back {$730.00} instead which was helpful along with the {$140.00} dollars.

Consumer Complaint: I was working for a company named XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX XXXX and the company opened a business credit account from Chase with my name on the card. The company card was used to buy material for jobs, and the bill was never paid by the owners. I never guaranteed the credit card. They stated I was liable because I signed checks for the company. I asked for them to provide evidence that I somehow guaranteed the card and they failed to provide this. Given the timetable, I decided not to pursue this legally, because the account and last activity is over 7.5-year-old, yet they keep reporting this to XXXX and other credit reporting companies. Chase ended up charging this off, and that has shown up on my personal credit. The account needs to be removed from the credit reporting. They have failed to ever properly address the issue.
