Subissue: Problem with rewards from credit card
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023, I booked a hotel in XXXX using the Luxury Hotel and Resort Collection ( LHRC ) feature on the Chase.XXXX website. I used a Chase Sapphire Reserve XXXX card. Chase promises on its website that one of the benefits of that card is to reward extra XXXX points for each dollar spent on booking and paying for a hotel when it's done on ChaseXXXXUpon finishing the booking process, the system displayed the message that the card would be charged at the hotel upon check-in. There's NO option to pay for the reservation on the ChaseXXXX site. Moreover, one can't pay on ChaseXXXX for any of the hotels listed in the XXXX. Hence, I paid for the hotel on checkout using the same card I used to make the reservation. To date, I haven't received the promised reward of XXXX points. During my conversations with Chase representatives, I heard that the problem might be that I paid for the stay at the hotel, not on ChaseXXXX My explanations that Chase made it impossible to pay on ChaseXXXX went nowhere. Chase didn't disclose that reservations made through XXXX wouldn't be awarded the promised reward. Intentionally or not, Chase withheld this critical information and misled me into believing I would receive the promised reward. I haven't, and I demand it now. Thank you.

Issue: Getting a credit card
Subissue: Card opened as result of identity theft or fraud
Consumer Complaint: I received a JP Morgan Chase Freedom Unlimited credit card that I did not applied for. I contact Chase Customer Protection Group at ( XXXX ) XXXX to report someone fraudulently applied for this credit card. The customer service representative acknowledged my complaint and advised this was most likely fraud and identity theft, and confirmed that she had closed the account and would be mailing supporting documents to me relating to the fraud, as well as to obtain credit bureau reports. I obtained a XXXX XXXX credit report online and noted an inquiry made by JPMCB Card Service on XX/XX/23, which may be the date the criminal applied for this card online. I have no accounts with JP Morgan Chase and have not apply for any credit cards.

Issue: Closing an account
Subissue: Funds not received from closed account
Consumer Complaint: Reference accompanying document with for dates, transactions and amounts. While financial institutions have a duty to monitor and prevent fraudulent activities, they must also ensure that legitimate business transactions of their customers aren't unnecessarily impeded. The incident with Chase Bank is a glaring example of how a bank 's overzealous actions can lead to significant inconvenience, potential financial loss, and loss of trust. Argument 1 : Unjustified Account Lock and Inconsistent Customer Service : After notifying Chase of an impending international wire transfer, the account was locked immediately after the transaction. Subsequent calls to the bank led to multiple verifications of identity and transaction intentions. Shockingly, this tedious process was repeated three times, despite consistent confirmations from Chase that everything was in order. Question : Why does a bank, after being pre-informed of a transaction and repeatedly verifying the same, continue to disrupt its customer 's business activities? Argument 2 : Unauthorized Account Closure and Financial Delays : Post successful business dealings, including a legitimate sale of scrap aluminum, Chase abruptly closed the account. The subsequent letter cited " suspicious activity '' as the reason without any substantial evidence. Moreover, the promised check reflecting the account 's balance was never delivered, despite the bank acknowledging its possession. Question : On what grounds does a bank withhold a customer 's funds, especially after acknowledging that they owe the said amount? How can a bank justify such prolonged financial delays, particularly when the client 's business operations are at stake? Argument 3 : Lack of Transparency and Communication : Chase 's repeated assurances of investigating " suspicious activity '' and their commitment to reaching out post-investigation have remained empty promises. The bank 's refusal to provide a clear timeline further adds to the XXXX and uncertainty faced by the customer. Question : Why is there a lack of transparent communication from the bank 's end? How can a bank expect to retain trust when it fails to deliver on its assurances? Argument 4 : Questioning the Validity of Wire Transfers : The bank 's request for 'registered phone numbers ' related to incoming wire transactions is baffling. Not only should the bank already possess this information, but it's also unreasonable to expect customers to have such details for their business clients. The inherent trust associated with wire transfers is being undermined by the bank 's actions. Question : Why should customers trust wire transfers if banks can reverse or invalidate them weeks later? If this remains the case, why not shift to other modes of transactions, like credit cards? Conclusion : The actions of Chase Bank reek of unjustified suspicion, lack of transparency, and potential theft. By holding onto funds that rightfully belong to their customer, they are not only causing financial distress but also undermining the very essence of trust that should exist between a bank and its clients. This complaint underscores the urgency with which the CFPB must intervene to ensure justice and restore faith in the financial system. I implore the CFPB to investigate this grievance thoroughly and ensure that due measures are taken against such arbitrary and detrimental banking practices.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/23, I noticed several charges in my chase checking account that I did not make. I called the fraud department and began to file three separate claims. The one Im referring to was a XXXX $ charge for a company called XXXX XXXX a shoe companyI definitely DID NOT MAKE THE CHARGE..I was asleep when it happened, no one else had my debit card number, but obviously some hacker or identity thieves had my new debit card number or account numbers to be able to make the initial purchases.. Chase said they would stop payment since everything was pending and credit back all of the claims I filed, totaling about XXXX XXXX I had just opened the account and had only had my debit card for about a week or soso after the claims are filed, a new debit card is sent out, etc, I got credits back from chase in the amount for each fraudulent charge.. and tonight XX/XX/23, I check my checking account via the chase app and notice a CLAIM REVERSAL IN THE AMOUNT OF XXXX $!!!! Im not sure what is going on but this is ridiculous!! I never made any purchases for XXXX XXXX, but now chase is taking that same money they gave me back!! I did recently purchase XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX shoes for my son, which he paid for, I deposited money ( which there is proof of ) and shortly after depositing I ordered his shoes for school! So idk how claims work, but it appears that chase is leaping to a conclusion that because I ordered expensive shoes similarly to the fraudulent charge, that I must have submitted a false claim???? WHICH IS NOT TRUE!! Im just absolutely disgusted by this entire process..I have XXXX children, Im a XXXX at a local restaurant, I decided to bank with chase because its very close to my new work and was convenient for me to do nightly cash deposits after workbut since this has happened, I transferred all but a small amount to my old bank, whom I never had not one issue with in 4 years of being a customerTwo weeks with chase and theres fraudulent activity and then this? Excuse my language but this is absolutely XXXX I have screen shots of the original fraudulent charges and the reversal made tonight.. and of ATM deposit of cash and then ordering my sons shoes..this is ridiculous!

Consumer Complaint: Date of transaction : XX/XX/XXXX Amount : {$280.00} Nature of dispute : a merchant in the XXXX XXXX issued a credit in the amount above to my Chase credit card ending in XXXX, which I had originally used for a purchase in XX/XX/XXXX ( one of the items broke and it was still under warranty ). The merchant issued the credit to my credit card via XXXX. As of XX/XX/XXXX, Chase has not been able to locate the credit and my money is missing. Trace number : XXXX ( provided by XXXX XXXX ) Attached are all contacts I made with XXXX and Chase between XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX together with the unsatisfactory resolution. I can't tell if the problem is that XXXX did not send the credit correctly to Chase or whether Chase misplaced the refund. The fact that two financial companies are involved complicates the situation. What is 100 % true is that Im a defenseless consumer. Neither XXXX nor Chase have been able to resolve the situation. Im caught in the middle while my money is nowhere to be seen.

Consumer Complaint: Date of inquiry : XX/XX/2023 Claim number : XXXX On XX/XX/XXXX, i notified Chase of fraudulent transactions made on my card, shortly after i had 2 transactions refunded and the rest were denied. I have called chase time and time again to resolve the issue with little to no help. The claim was denied, and i reopened the dispute which i then provided more evidence for, claim was still denied. The claim totaled about {$2500.00} which chase has refused to help me with. Im confused as to why 2 transactions would be refunded and the rest denied. Customer support has been atrocious, even after speaking to a XXXX ( XXXX ) which was less help than any other agent. Im writing this with the hopes i can get my money back ( rent ) to be exact. Im appalled at the decisions this company has taken and the lack of support.
