Consumer Complaint: I have been trying to receive a refund due to my trip cancellation back in XXXX. I have tried reaching out to the travel insurance company to have our trip refunded since I bought the insurance but to no avail. After a year or so going back and forth with the insurance company I have decided to reach out to Chase because I used my XXXX XXXX to pay. I submitted an Eclaims with Chase and it's almost been 2 years now and Chase has also been giving me the run around. Asking me to submit documents that I've already submitted and requested to gather more " proof ''. I'm backed against the wall as I have submitted all that I can that was requested of me. The total amount that I'm requesting for is {$2600.00}. This is the down payment cost for the flights and XXXX XXXX XXXX ( {$2400.00} + {$240.00} ).

Issue: Fees or interest
Subissue: Problem with fees
Consumer Complaint: In XXXX I made a purchase through a company based in the USA for an item shipped from the USA while living in the USA. Chase charged me a {$24.00} foreign transaction fee. I asked Chase if this was a mistake and whether it was possible to refund the fee but was told foreign transaction fees can not be reversed. There was likely a problem with the charge being made in a foreign currency and that I should contact the merchant. I asked if the merchant were to reverse the charge and charge me again in USD whether that fee could be reversed and I was told no. Ultimately, chase charged me a foreign transaction fee I did not consent to because I was unknowingly charged in another currency. I view this as a UDAAP violation because I was in the USA the entire time and had no way of knowing I would be charged this fee, and I have no way of consenting to the fee, or correcting/reversing this fee I did not consent to. I also view it as deceptive for a financial services company to claim a fee they assess can not be reversed even in an instance where a mistake was made that was not the fault of the consumer. Consumer harm is done when Chase is able to charge fees that are assessed based on an algorithm, with no pathway to challenge said fees, especially under circumstances where the consumer is not asked to consent to the fee prior to a transaction. If I withdraw money from an atm and incur a fee, I am asked for my consent. I do not understand how or why Chase can assess a foreign transaction fee without similar consent, especially given that the charge was made in the USA and the consumer would not be weary of a foreign transaction fee given the circumstances.

Consumer Complaint: Hi this email is to provide proof of fraud on my chase account. XX/XX/2023 I noticed suspicious transactions on my account for the amount of {$0.00} for XXXX XXXX XXXX out of XXXX, XXXXthe one cent was withdrawn and then credited. I immediately locked my account and called Chase customer service. They agreed it was suspicious and canceled my debit card and issued a new one to be mailed out. Today XX/XX/XXXX, as I was driving home I received a call from XXXX from a supposed Chase representative who said my account had been compromised again and there was a XXXX transaction that was attempted in XXXX, Florida for the amount of {$1000.00} to a XXXX XXXX. He asked if tht was me tht was sending it and I said no. He proceeded to send me a text asking if the XXXX was authorized in which I responded no. He then told me my online banking account was completely compromised and I needed to change my username and password. He sent me two additional text messages to terminate my username and password which I unfortunately provided to him via text. He then proceeded to ask about my XXXX recipient XXXX XXXX XXXX who I stated was my boyfriend and he said his information was also compromised and he asked me to add him to phone call which I did immediately. After XXXX accepted the phone call the " representative '' asked him some questions and told him his phone number was added to a XXXX account fraudulently with XXXX which he has no account with at all. Then he text him some verification codes to the phone number he has attached to his XXXX account and asked him to read them to him which he did. After he received the codes he told XXXX that he would enroll him and me in fraud protection so our future XXXX transactions wouldn't be compromised. XXXX was let go and him and I remained on the line to supposedly enroll me into the fraud protection program which consisted of me approving a XXXX transaction of {$2000.00} to XXXX where he explained tht no funds would be deducted from my account it was simply to make sure future XXXX transactions between XXXX and I would not be compromised. I unfortunately said yes to the text which ultimately approved the XXXX transaction to XXXX which he obviously never received. I'm attaching all the screenshots of my call log where he called me and I tried calling the number back and it is a XXXX XXXX customer service phone number which leads me to believe tht this XXXX XXXX thats the name he gave me also with a badge number of XXXX. I'm also sending the text messages tht XXXX received as well. The phone number associated with my XXXX account is XXXX and the phone number associated with XXXX 's account is XXXX.

Issue: Improper use of your report
Subissue: Credit inquiries on your report that you don't recognize
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/23, I submitted a mortgage pre-approval request to Chase Bank to obtain information on what would be needed for to be pre-approved/approved for a mortgage through them. In the application, I selected that I did not consent to a credit pull. I spoke with a lender shortly after, who requested additional information. After the phone call, My wife and I both received notifications that a hard inquiry had been made on our credit by Chase. I then spoke to the lender again on XX/XX/23, who attempted to mislead me in to believing I had consented to the credit pull on the application. During a second phone call that day, the lender admitted I did not digitally consent, but that I had verbally consented, which I had not. On XX/XX/23, I attempted to contact the lending manager regarding this issue and received no return call after leaving a message. On XX/XX/23, I sent an email to the lending manager detailing the situation, their failure to return my call, and requesting contact within 24 hours. The lending manager contact me on XX/XX/23, following the email, and stated that they would begin the inquiry removal and it should take approximately 5 days to remove the inquiry and they would update me with additional information. On XX/XX/23, a member of the Chase Escalation Department contacted me to request details and informed me they would have the inquiry removed. On XX/XX/23, after receiving no additional information or contact, I sent a follow up email to the lending manager requesting an update on the situation, as the inquiry was still on both my wife and I 's credit report. He replied and stated that the matter was being handle by the " Executive Department '' and that he would inform them I would like an update and would update me when he had information. He then sent a follow-up email stating it was being worked on and he would provide information when it was available. I also received a second call from the escalation department, and a voice mail, stating it was being worked on. I also received a letter from the individual in the escalation department stating they would have answers by XX/XX/23 ( 30 days past the initial request for removal ). On XX/XX/23, I again received a call from the individual in the escalation department, on a recorded line, stating that their solution would be to " mask '' the inquiry so that it would not be visible to a company performing a credit pull, and would not affect my credit score. When I brought up that it was still visible on my report and my score still reflected the pull, I was told that " I could see it, but companies would not be able to. '' When asked when the inquiry would be REMOVED from my report, I was told they could not remove it an only mask it. Their actions violated the Fair Credit Reporting Act regarding non-consenting credit pulls.
