Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I tried to deposit {$5000.00} ( all {$100.00} bills ) into Chase ATM ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, WA ), but after I put the cash into the ATM, it showed " There are some errors with the ATM. The transaction couldn't continue '' and I got a receipt. I inserted the card again and wanted to resume, but the ATM said it could not work now due to some issue. I went to the nearby Chase branch immediately. Chase clerk XXXX helped us file the issue to the Chase system and promised I would get {$5000.00} credit on my account in XXXX business days. I got the credit 5 days later. However, on XX/XX/XXXX, Chase reverted a large amount of the credit- {$4900.00}, and sent me a letter that only {$84.00} could be honored. I went to the same branch on XX/XX/XXXX and asked for an escalation of the investigations, but XXXX kept the same response for the escalation. Also, I filed a complaint to XXXX 's customer satisfaction department. On XX/XX/XXXX, the XXXX XXXX department kept the same response for this investigation.

Subissue: Problem making or receiving payments
Consumer Complaint: My monthly rent is {$3000.00} and my landlord prefers to receive rent payments via XXXX. My existing checking account ( with a different bank ) has a daily XXXX limit of {$2500.00}, so I searched around and found on Chases website ( https : //www.chase.comXXXX ) that, From Consumer Chase checking accounts, you can send up to {$5000.00} in a single transaction. This is the sole reason I chose to open this account with Chase. Unfortunately, after opening and funding the account, I attempted to send my rent payment and received an error stating that my limit is {$2000.00} per day. I called XXXX but XXXX directed me to call Chase ; I called Chase but was told this is determined by XXXX so there is nothing that can be done. Upon further investigation, I noticed that the XXXX Service Terms ( PDF ) linked from the Chase website ( just below where it states the limit is $ XXXXtransaction ) actually states an entirely different limited. In the Transfer Limits section, the linked PDF ( available here : XXXX XXXX XXXX # XXXX ) states that the per-transaction and per-day limit is just {$2000.00} for consumer Chase accounts, rather than the {$5000.00} figure shown on Chases website. So, which is it? {$2000.00} or {$5000.00}? If it is {$5000.00}, I need Chase to correct my artificially low limit so that I can use this account for the purpose it was created, which is to send my rent payments in {$3000.00} increments. I am very upset at the misleading marketing that advertised a {$5000.00} limit that appears to be a lie or is at best is a theoretical possibility. No one at Chase has been able to tell me when, if ever, my {$2000.00} limit will be increased, so advertising a {$5000.00} limit is manipulative. Again, the {$5000.00} limit is literally the ONLY reason I opened this account with Chase. It is important that this get resolved.

Consumer Complaint: My middle name was added to my credit card with Chase some time ago. I did not request this. Chase does not know why it was added. My first, middle, and last name combined exceed the maximum that will fit on a card, and my last name is getting cut off and this is causing me problems. Chase refuses to correct this problem unless I legally change my name, despite the fact that I hold three other credit cards and a checking account with them which do not include my middle name.

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX, I took a cash advance for {$9000.00} with a 0 % APR promotional interest rate offer through XX/XX/2024. I was charged a 5 % origination as outlined in their terms. On the following month 's bill ( XXXX ), I paid the balance for all new purchases. Then the month after that ( XXXX ) I was charge {$170.00} in interest. Chase Bank 's terms state : " If you take advantage of this promotional offer, interest will be charged on new purchases unless you pay your New Balance ( or Interest Saving Balance, if applicable ), including any promotional balances added by using this offer, in full each month. If you have a promotional 0 % APR on purchases, you will not be charged interest on new purchases as long as the promotional Purchase APR is in effect. '' I contacted customer service by phone and they told me that I was charged interest for the new purchases. This is in violation of their terms above. The phone representative was unwilling to advocate for me. I followed up with an email. The response from the representative was the same and ignored my concern regarding the violation of their promotional cash advance terms. Given that I am likely not the first person to have this problem, I recommend that you investigate my complaint and inquire Chase with regard to how they are implementing their promotional 0 % APR cash advance terms..
