Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed

Subissue: Debt is not yours

Consumer Complaint: This account was associated with an old rental property I owned. I sold the property and the electrice service then transferred to the new owners of the property. At some point they apparently got behind and the delinquency was mistakenly attached to my account. I thought it was resolved until I recently had a thorough review of my credit and see that it was assigned as a delinquent account in XX/XX/20. The attached document serves as evidence that the power company accepted the responsibility for the error and assured me it would be removed from my credit. I am just now finding out that it wasn't and need to have it removed as soon as possible. ''

Issue: Written notification about debt

Subissue: Didn't receive enough information to verify debt

Consumer Complaint: There is a collection remark on my credit report from IC Systems on behalf of XXXX XXXX XXXX for {$19000.00}. I never received any notification of this collection until it appeared on my credit report, and I have never held an account with XXXX XXXX XXXX in my name. Our account for the past 10 years has been in my wifes name and has always been paid on time. The collection was apparently filed against me on XX/XX/XXXX, according to my credit report, and as stated I never received notice of the debt from XXXX XXXX XXXX or IC Systems. I was not aware of this collection until XX/XX/XXXX when it appeared on my credit report. After I discovered this collection against me, I filled a dispute with IC Systems on XX/XX/XXXX and still have not heard anything from either company about this debt. This is a collection for an account that I never possessed or had any information on and is affecting my credit for something that is not mine.

Consumer Complaint: XXXX put a collection on my credit report after three years of it not being on there. ICSystems is the credit agency with the debt currently, that I paid off. ICSystems " said '' they sent me a letter before it went to my credit report. I've had the same address for the last 4 years and no letter was received. IF I would have received it, I would have taken care of the debt " before '' it hit my credit report if it were even valid. Maybe they should have sent it certified or something before they ruin someone's report after they " say '' they sent a letter, not knowing if it will get to me on time, if at all. I also talked to the CSR on the phone when making a payment and I want this line to come completely OFF my credit report, not just updated as paid. I've filed an FCC complaint against XXXX for shady business practices,, as they " recalled '' this debt THREE years ago after I tried to pay it off, then yesterday I wake up and the debt is on there from ICSystems. I never received ANY notice from ICSystems and I don't believe they even sent a letter to my address that I never received.
