Subissue: Attempted to collect wrong amount
Consumer Complaint: I attempted to settle an account. When speaking with a representative, she said that in order to pay this, she needed updated personal information. She refused to accept payment without a lot personal information that I did not feel comfortable giving. Part of the reason she wanted this updated information was because they put this on my credit without notifying me first. She wanted the opportunity to rectify that. The ironic part was that I was trying to settle the debt and she wouldn't allow me to do so.

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt was paid
Consumer Complaint: Back in XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX, XXXXXXXX XXXX a.k.a. XXXX tried to collect a debt ( {$100.00} for one month 's service ) through XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I sent them a letter explaining the situation with the following information : The is a notice to inform your company that the debt being claimed by the creditor ( XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) Account XXXX XXXX XXXX is invalid and lacks accuracy. Facts in the case are as follows : 1. XXXX billed for services NOT rendered. Those services were internet at a premium speed ( a $ XXXX. value above basic service ). A promotion of $ XXXX. off for 2 years. A total value of {$360.00} which should have been credited to the account. 2. XXXX deleted from their records complaint calls regarding slow or intermittent internet. 3. A XXXX sales representative promised to credit the account for the missing promotional credits. 4. It was discovered that XXXX had reduced the ability of the modem to operate at the faster speed. The explanation from the tech department the speed was a result of being too far from the hub ( an admission that the speed promised could never be achieved and should have never been billed for ). This was a false statement discovered on further investigation that the modems size of packets had been reduced 50 % from the machine capability. 5. The equipment was returned prior to the billing cycle. Thus, services were not rendered. The matter seemed to be dropped when no other correspondence being made after that. Now a new collection company appeared in XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX. They were trying to collect a monthly service that was easy to show it was paid. They, I.C. System Inc., ignored blatant proof there was no debt owed and proceeded to file a ding on my credit reports.

Consumer Complaint: Good day, today, XX/XX/22, I received a collection letter from I.C. Systems, Inc. detailing a {$630.00} outstanding bill from XXXX XXXX. Problem is, I don't have any kind of business relationship with this entity. I called I.C. Systems and initiated an Identity Theft report. Turns out, whoever is scamming me has my home address, e-mail address, and social security number. I changed my e-mail password, and will contact the credit agencies to keep a watch on use of my social security number, but I'm filing this with you today so that I have it on proper record. Thank you for your assistance.
