Subissue: Account status incorrect
Consumer Complaint: Hello, I made a payment for my leased Vehicle on XX/XX/XXXX and it was taken from my bank account. Per GM when i looked at my credit report it was reporting late when in fact on the website it reflects the payment was processed. I went to my bank, got a copy of my bank account and a personal banker faxed it on my behalf. I reached out to GM once again and they advised to call back in 5-7 business days and they will correct the payment. It has now been longer and they did not remove the negative remark from my credit nor have they applied the payment. My credit score is well above 750 and this negative remark has caused a burden on the financial stability i can offer my family. I am not the average consumer and have never been late with any payment. I am requesting GM to apply the payment with the proof i have submitted along with taking off the negative remark from my report. The information on the website of GM also contradicts what they are reporting to my credit. Please ask them to correct this.

Consumer Complaint: GM Financial reported to credit agencies that I was late on my final payment of {$540.00} for lease account # XXXX. I did not fail to make these payments. The DEALER failed to make these payments. Please see the attached default letter in which the sales manager at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX writes : Please recognize this default letter as an effort to correct or remove any delinquent information on account number : XXXX, Mr. XXXX XXXX. Mr. XXXX grounded his lease in XXXX, fully understanding he would not be responsible for his last two payments in the amount of {$540.00}. He turned in his lease vehicle on the XXXX of XX/XX/2021. I failed to process the necessary documents through our accounting department, which caused the delay in paying off the lease. Attached you will find a copy of the payoff check that has been sent to settle the account. Please contact me in the event there is additional information needed to correct this account. My efforts to resolve this directly with GM Financial failed. Ten phone calls over a three-month period led me to an " accounts '' department that was reportedly obligated to respond to my written compliant within 30 days. They did not respond within 30 days. Therefore I am escalating my complaint with the CFPB. When XXXX customers are in the process of leasing a new vehicle, the dealer and GM Financial present a united front. That united front should continue even when the dealer makes a mistake like this. Because I assumed as much, my credit score dropped from " Very Good '' to " Fair ''. I feel penalized for having faith in GM Financial 's business processes. They need to make this right and rescind the information they provided to credit agencies.

Consumer Complaint: XXXX financial is reporting negatively to credit bureaus. derogatory unsatisfied charged off account. XXXX XXXX is XXXX. Vehicle was illegal repossessed. Breach of peace. Prior to Vehicle Being repossessed 3 large payments were made through money gram withing a month to bring the account current. GM took the payments and repossessed the car anyway. It was never disclosed where or when the vehicle was sold or for how much. They never kept in contact with me about anything. I was the co signer. The owner is currently in XXXX XXXX and has been for the last 4 years.. I contacted gm a few weeks ago because my credit is showing in public Records a court order to garnish wages.. for some XXXX now they're saying XXXX. Absolutely. I requested a copy of the file and I got a letter from gm stating the account may have been fraudulently established as a result of identity theft .... WHAT??? The person I spoke to wanted me to give him the amount I have to see if my records match theirs.. I'm not gon na send them nothing they can adjust.. I know how much money was sent to get the car current. They applied those payments to court fees repossession fees late fees interest. None of it went to principal. I want them to send me all the statements proof of payments they have I want the date time place and amount the car was sold. I was told that the car was to sell at auction for the balance the balance was XXXX it should of sold for more and there should have been a refund for the overage difference. After looking at the court record GM filed just last year order to garnish. I want to appeal that ruling along with the negative deragory in my credit file. They can give me a XXXX valued XXXX and I'll pay otherwise they are insane to think they can destroy me with their lies. Every attempt was made to pay them they refused if it wasn't past due amount paid in full they refused payment after they had already received 3 different amounts through money gram in the month the car was repoed.

Issue: Problems at the end of the loan or lease
Subissue: Excess mileage, damage, or wear fees, or other problem after the lease is finished
Consumer Complaint: I had a lease with GM Financial for a XXXX XXXX that started XX/XX/XXXX. My GM Financial Account number is XXXX. The lease was scheduled to end XX/XX/XXXX. I leased a new car with XXXX and they accepted to turn my XXXX lease back in for me. That was completed on XX/XX/XXXX, more than a month before the end of my lease. Unfortunately for some reason GM didn't report the car returned until XX/XX/XXXX so they added a month payment to the end of my lease. I contacted GM Financial and after a number of months of back and forth discussion after providing the lease return receipt from XXXX they agreed to remove the added payment and I made a settlement program for the amount owed ( wear and tear, lease return, fee, etc. ). This program was instituted on XX/XX/XXXX and I have made payments every month since then. The gmfinancial.com portal showed the revised amount due with the removal of the extra month payment so I thought all was well. I got a letter from GM Financial on XX/XX/XXXX with an update on the amount owed. It didn't correlate to what is shown on the GM Financial portal so I called customer service today XXXX XXXX, XXXX to inquire about the difference and they are now saying they never removed the extra month payment and that I still owe the amount. After 30 minutes of explaining the whole situation over again they said they'd escalate the issue and to call back in 48-72 hours. I have no confidence that GM has any intention of removing the payment for a car I no longer had and returned a month before the end of the lease! They added a payment thinking I still had the car but even after giving proof that I returned it before the end of the lease they are refusing the remove the extra payment. Please help me resolve this matter.

Consumer Complaint: Dear CFPB, In XXXX of 2021 I called GM finance and informed them because of covid I would be out of work for a few months. I informed GM for covid forbearance for my truck payment. And they informed me that there would not be late payments until I reached out again. During this time I was seriously struggling to feed my family because of a job layoff. I would like GM finance to honor their word that they gave me. Their lack of action make me feel taken advantage of by GM finance as I have recently gotten out of the XXXX XXXX.
