Issue: Struggling to pay your loan
Subissue: Lender trying to repossess or disable the vehicle
Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXX, GM Financial under the guidance of XXXX XXXX, repossessed my vehicle even though I had called them and told a representative ( not XXXX XXXX ) that I would be making a payment soon so that my vehicle would not be repossessed. XXXX XXXX, a supervisor, still had my car repossessed in the middle of the pandemic. I borrowed money from family and paid the exorbitant fees that XXXX XXXX applied to reinstate my loan. She did this deliberately with the intent to make it impossible for me to recuperate my car. I am a XXXX. I only get paid when I work. I did not have a regular XXXX position over the summer. I called GM Financial to inform them that I did not have the money to pay for the XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX payment. The representative I spoke to, informed me that my car was not at risk of repossession. I called again and informed them that I was going to start working as a XXXX again and that I would make a payment in XX/XX/XXXX for the month of XXXX and then another payment at the end of XX/XX/XXXX for the month of XXXX. I then asked for more time to come up with the XX/XX/XXXX payment. The representative I spoke to at GM Financial informed me that he was okay with my payment plan and again told me that my car was not at risk of repossession. On Tuesday, XX/XX/XXXX at XXXXXXXX XXXX my car alarm went off. I ran out of my home and I did not find my vehicle. I thought it had be stolen because I had already made payment arrangements with GM Financial so I called the XXXX Police and filed a stolen car report. XXXX police officers showed up at my home at approximately XXXXXXXX XXXX to tell me that my car was not stolen but was in fact repossessed by GM Financial. This again under the direction of XXXX XXXX ( the police officers did not tell me this, I found out on my own ). I was left with no car to go to work nor to take my XXXX son to school nor his appointments. This has caused me a great deal of XXXX and I could not sleep last night. I am certain that XXXX XXXX is singling me out because I am of XXXX descent. I would like to have an investigation done to verify if in fact, GM Financial under the direction of XXXX XXXX exhibited discriminatory practices when they repossessed my car twice even though I have been paying for it for 5 years and I am 75 % done paying off the car loan.

Issue: Getting a loan or lease
Subissue: Problem with signing the paperwork
Consumer Complaint: I have signed for a vehicle on XX/XX/2017 that has XXXX completely different sets of paper work. The second has the date of XX/XX/2017. My signature was forged on it and I have come to the dealership and the bank about these complaints and consumer rights violations and continue to be ignored. I was not disclosed to the rights that I had and I have sent out copies showing that both paper works are different and the banks and dealership copies have forged signatures. I have the original paperwork. They have copies. The annual percentage rate, finance charge, amount financed, total payments, and total sales price are higher on their copies then mine. Which means I signed out for XXXX price and was charged something different. These are clear consumer rights violations. My contract. Annual percentage rate : {$12.00} Finance Charge : {$8600.00} Amount financed : XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX Total sales XXXX The Banks and Dealerships contract. Issue: Took or threatened to take negative or legal action
Subissue: Seized or attempted to seize your property
Consumer Complaint: On the day of XX/XX/2021, I decided to drive the vehicle I obtained through a consumer credit transaction, used for family personal and household purposes, to the gym for a hour long workout session. Upon walking to the spot I parked my vehicle, I noticed it was in fact stolen. I immediately reentered the gym and requested to see the security footage of the Parking lot for the last hour. I also called the XXXX police to aid in the investigation. I filled out a police report with the facts and while watching the footage of the security camera, it showed a debt collector from the company named XXXX XXXX XXXX, located at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, Michigan XXXX, in a tow truck hired by GM Financial, back into my vehicle, lift it up, and proceeded to steal it in broad daylight! My vehicle was financed through GM Financial, whom I have several CFPB complaints against for violating my federally protected consumer rights under chapter 15 Title 41 of the United States Code. When I contacted GM Financial they attempted to extort and bully me into paying {$2100.00} for property that was obtained on credit and which included a finance charge. Pursuant to 15 USC 1605 the amount of the finance charge in connection with any consumer credit transaction shall be determined as the sum of all charges, payable directly or indirectly by the person to whom the credit is extended, and imposed directly or indirectly by the creditor as an incident to the extension of credit. The finance charge does not include charges of a type payable in a comparable cash transaction. I am a consumer who has been violated and robbed of my personal property by Gm Financial and they have not received any repercussion as a result of stealing. I have lost a job, missed job opportunities, and have experienced hardship as a result of the theft.

Issue: Managing the loan or lease
Subissue: Problem with additional products or services purchased with the loan
Consumer Complaint: I purchased a Certified used XXXX XXXX XXXX from XXXX XXXX in XXXX, California on XX/XX/XXXX, for {$26000.00}. Since owning the vehicle I have had constant issues, leading me to take the car numerous times to the dealership to be repaired and looked at. XXXX of the issues that have been occurring since owning the vehicle is that the dashboard will not turn on when starting the vehicle. This occurs at random and I can not figure out if there is a circumstance that creates this problem. Due to this specific issue, I have brought the vehicle in at least 4 times to be looked at. Of course, the issue is not occurring when I bring it in. However, when I bring the car in, I show them photos of the issue, which are date marked so they can see this is an ongoing issue. The dates I know the vehicle has been brought in for this are XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, and XX/XX/XXXX. Each time, they say there is no problem. However, if this is the case, why does this keep happening? Despite me showing and telling them, they deny this is true, even when I show them evidence of the issue. Then on XX/XX/XXXX the day after the dealership said there was no electrical issue, the dashboard did not turn on. Clearly, the issue has been ignored once again. In the interim of all of this, I initially had an appointment scheduled for XX/XX/XXXX, at XXXX XXXX in XXXX. When I got there, I was helped by rude servicemen ( I did not get his name ) who said they would not look at my car until the next day, despite my appointment being first thing in the morning at XXXXXXXX XXXX. When I asked if they could give me a rental car so I can get to work, I was denied a rental car and had no choice but to bring back my car another day. Unfortunately, I was not able to bring my car in until XX/XX/XXXX, because I was not able to take another day off work. ( I worked approximately XXXX miles from my house so taking an XXXX or XXXX would have been too expensive ). Following, this experience I made a call to XXXX directly to report what is going on. After, talking to a representative on many occasions, she wanted to ensure I was still going to my scheduled appointment on XX/XX/XXXX. I told her, yes, I was. On XXXX of the phone calls a week and a half before my appointment, I was called by the same representative and she told me they would offer a buyback of the vehicle. However, she still said to bring my car to the appointment first. After picking up my car the next day at the dealership ( they did not offer me a rental car or even tell me my car would not be ready the next day ) they said there was nothing wrong with the car ( no electrical issues ). Later that day, I got a call from the XXXX reprehensive and she said it was reported there was nothing wrong with the car and now there will be no buyback. Now, I am getting mixed messages from XXXX because they first offer a buyback, and now they wont. Following this, I filed an Auto Claim with the XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) on XX/XX/XXXX. Late that day I got a call from another XXXX reprehensive ( XXXX ). She said this was in response to the XXXX claim. She said that she will further investigate this issue ( case number XXXX ). However, a buyback is not an option. I am waiting for her to get back to me about this on XX/XX/XXXX. However, I have many concerns about this. Also, the claim with the XXXX was denied on XX/XX/XXXX, due to now having a car for over a year ; despite the claim and issues that have been occurring before then Lastly, on XX/XX/XXXX, I experienced a new electrical problem. When I started my car there was beeping as if the seat belt sensor or turn signal was on for too long. The stereo was put on mute and the car is not indicating a reason for the beeping. This beeping lasted at least XXXX minutes before stopping. No indication why. It just stopped. I want to emphasize there is a deep-rooted electrical issue that is being ignored and I still have 60 months left on paying my loan. At this point XXXX is expecting me to pay for a car with a serious electrical issue, that will only get worse and be very expensive to repair. I need help in dealing with this since the company does not seem to care about the concerns and the trouble this is causing me. I have spent so much wasted time dealing with this. Please see attached photos of the dashboard off when the car is on ( dates included in photos ), video of the car beeping for no reason, XXXX Claim form, and service document from the last visit.
