Issue: Managing the loan or lease
Subissue: Billing problem
Consumer Complaint: I've been making my payments on time and applying additional principal to my payments. My principal applied to my payments had been going up why interest going down but my last payment, the principal decreased and interest rose. My monthly payment is XXXX and I originally was paying XXXX. I found out after doing this, they weren't applying the additional money to principal by just reducing my next month 's payment. So I called and they told me that I would have to call them and have the payment changed to reflect the additional principal to come out, which I did. Here how payments were applied. DATE ACTIVITY AMOUNT - XX/XX/XXXX Payment received. {$720.00} ( {$650.00} principal + {$67.00} interest ) XX/XX/XXXX XXXX {$60.00} XXXX Payment received. {$780.00} ( {$680.00} principal + {$100.00} interest ) XXXX Payment received. {$780.00} ( {$680.00} principal + {$100.00} interest ) XX/XX/XXXX Payment received. {$720.00} ( I made payment of {$800.00} ) ( {$550.00} principal + {$160.00} interest ) XX/XX/XXXX XXXX {$73.00} As you can see, my XX/XX/XXXX had less principal applied and interest increased

Issue: Improper use of your report
Subissue: Credit inquiries on your report that you don't recognize
Consumer Complaint: To whom it may concern, According to my most recently credit report, your company is currently reporting to the three credit bureaus that I applied for credit with your organization. I do no recall granting you this authorization to review my credit report. The Fair Credit Report Act requires that a creditor to be able to verify the written authorization of the consumer giving the creditor permission to review their credit. If you can provide a copy of a credit application authorizing the disclosure of my credit files with my signature, I will accept the inquiry. If a signed authorization can not be found please remove the inquiry from the three main credit bureaus. The presence of this inquiry is adversely effecting my credit report and is impending my ability to obtain necessary credit. Time is of the essence so I would greatly appreciate a response from you within thirty ( 30 ) days. Please mail me the copy of the signed application or a letter indicating your intention to delete the inquiry.

Issue: Struggling to pay your loan
Subissue: Lender trying to repossess or disable the vehicle
Consumer Complaint: I am writing this letter to express my deep dissatisfaction and frustration regarding the recent threats of repossession of my car from GM Financial company. My name is XXXX XXXX, and my husband and I have been clients since 2017. Recently, we have experienced a series of devastating losses : both my mother and his father passed away. In light of this tragedy, it is incomprehensible that they do not show even an ounce of empathy or compassion towards us. We are aware that our payments are behind schedule ; however, with my husband taking care of most bills, it has become increasingly difficult to catch up on our car payments. Furthermore, the thought of someone coming into our private property to repossess the vehicle is absolutely outrageous and illegal in many states across the nation and I believe New York its one of them, correct me if Im wrong. We would like that, if possible, stop calling us multiple times a day and sending us threatening emails related to repossession. We have decided that we will only respond to written correspondence from you due to the constant phone calls demanding payments at our workplaces which makes us feel deeply uncomfortable, the constant calls and letters are not helping the situation. We understand that this is a difficult situation for both of us. We understand our responsibilities as clients and were not denying it, but we also know what rights we are entitled to as well, and know thats why we are here to contact the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

Consumer Complaint: GM Financial shut off my auto-pay that was in place after 3 years of payments being made that way. They did not let me know they were doing this and I only found out after I received a past due notification email. I immediately called and made the payment but they put it on my credit report already. I asked them if they could remove it and they stated they have no control over that.

Consumer Complaint: GM FINANCIAL LEASING ACCOUNT # XXXX RE : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX LEASE My father, XXXX XXXX, passed away XXXX. He did not have a will, a trust or any other type of estate planning in place. I sent GM Financial his death certificate several times by fax or e-mail until they finally marked his account as deceased. I attached a cover letter showing my intent to buy the car once the account had been properly notated as deceased. My cover letter stated clearly I had been working with the dealership. Before the account was notated I had received phone calls and requests from customer service when I called to pay the account current. I refused to do that since I am not on the lease and did not trust them due to the problems they had in marking the account deceased. They offered and assured me that if I brought the account current I could assume the lease with no problem and bypass the dealership. The monthly payment was {$170.00} and the mileage is XXXX miles. The only thing was that I make the payment, wait for it to post and then call back to the lease assumption department at XXXX. I called and talked to XXXX and XXXX and was told that I could not assume the lease since there was no will or trust set up for my father prior to his death. After going back and forth and challenging as to why I was told I could assume the lease with payment I asked for my money back. They told me to get an attorney if I wanted my money back. The payment I made of {$530.00} was stolen outright from me by the lies and promise that I would be able to take over the lease. I never at any time signed a contract with them and was not on the lease. It was beyond deceitful and deceptive that they got their account current and did not care who they got the money from.
