Consumer Complaint: In XXXX XXXX, I opened a loan with another person through GM Financial. I was placed on the loan as co-borrower, however, never placed on the title of the vehicle, I was only placed on the loan documents. I am unsure why this occurred. When the primary person did not pay the loan, I paid the payments. I went to the DMV to attempt to take over the vehicle. By law in Ohio, if the other person does not sign for this, you can not be added to the title. The primary person obviously refused to sign the documentation. I have since taken this person to court to mitigate the situation. There are XXXX judgment liens, XXXX for the total amount of the contributory share, and a year later when the primary still refused to pay, the other to foreclose on thier home for the amount I sued for to pay off the loan. The primary person filed bankruptcy XX/XX/XXXX. I tried again to get GM Financial to give the vehicle to me via other means such as forcefully placing me on the title through the court. GM financial has refused repeatedly to help. In XXXX XXXX, GM Financial finally repossessed the truck, there was not a payment due on the vehicle until XXXX XXXX. I have tried to add the vehicle to my insurance, but was told it is illegal since the vehicle is not titled to me. It would be considered insurance fraud to which I could be tried and persecuted. I am held as a hostage, I continue to make these loan payments, I am unable to obtain ownership of the vehicle, as well as unable to insure it because I was never placed on the title or registration. GM Financial currently has possession of the truck and I continue to make payments on time monthly. They refuse to work with me or my lawyers. I have exhausted a great amount of resources attempting at a resolution to this matter. Attorney 's fees included. I am still in the same predicament. Only now, GM Financial has possession of the vehicle.

Consumer Complaint: I took this loan out with americredit financial thru the car dealer XXXX in XXXX, pa. The loan was taken over by GM financial. I made my payments. When the loan was drawing to a close, they said i owed twice as much as what was actually due on my car. I questioned this when the loan was transferred from one company to the other, and no one would respond. Towards the end of my loan, I was also involved in a XXXX situation, that, given the amount they said I still owed on this loan, there was no way i could continue to pay it. The person i was involved with hacked my checking account and ran my account negative XXXX dollars. I had no choice at that time but to let them reposses my car enlight of everything.

Consumer Complaint: I paid my car loan off in XXXX of last year ( 2015 ) and I still have not received the title from GM Financial. That 's over 6 months. I paid XXXX payments on a 60 month loan and I feel I should have the title by now. I have received no communication from GM Financial about the loan since I paid it off. There was an issue with the XXXX payment. A couple of months after I sent the last payment to GM Financial I got a call from a nasty little girl telling me that my account was 81 days past due. Since I had made more payments than the loan called for and all of them had been made on time I believed her to be a scammer trying to steal money from me. I told her as much. She continued to attempt to get me to give her money but after talking for a few minutes she then changed her story and admitted to receiving the payment but lied and said the check had bounced. To make a long story short, the young woman had no suggestions as to how to rectify the situation except for me to give her money. All she offered to do was send me a list of payments. I already know every payment made to GM Financial so that was of no assistance. I came up with my own solution since the big bad poorly run financial services institution was incompetent and unable to run its business. I first checked with my bank to see what the story was with the check. They confirmed what I knew to be true, that the check had not bounced or otherwise been rejected for any reason. They did, however, tell me that the check had never even been presented for payment. My next step was to send a replacement check along with a letter explaining the situation. I took the steps to do this, on my own time and at expense to me personally. GM Financial actually rejected the delivery! So, once again, at the expense of my own money and a great deal of time I found another address for GM Financial and resent the letter and the check to the new address. This time the letter was accepted and the new check was cashed. I also received a letter from GM Financial indicating they received my inquiry and that they would look into it and get back to me. That was several months ago and I have received no communication from GM Financial since. I did check my credit report and it indicates that I made XXXX payments late, which is untrue, and that I still owe {$45.00}, which is also untrue. I need GM Financial to fix the mis-reporting to credit bureaus and to provide me with my title. At this point I also feel I should receive some damages for my out of pocket expenses and the injury to me personally and reputationally.

Consumer Complaint: I paid off my vehicle loan thru GM Financial on XXXX XXXX, XXXX. I still have not received the lien release, so I called today and got the run around. They show a letter was mailed out on XXXX XXXX, XXXX. However I never received the letter. They refuse to send out another lien release, instead they are blaming the snow ( seriously, XXXX times they blamed the snow, which came AFTER the letter was mailed. Snow has magic powers on the XXXX apparently ). I had to demand repeatedly to speak to a supervisor, and she directs me to a website GM runs that I can request the letter for a {$23.00} fee. That lien release is required in their contract with me, and yet they are first giving me the run around and then when I do n't just hang up and go away, they instead try to shake me down for more money. They spent the life of the lease shaking me down for additional fees for everything from making payments to getting copies of the title faxed to attorneys to getting to talk to a live person about my account balance not being correct. Now they will not provide me with that lien release unless I pay an additional {$23.00}. I have no other recourse as I have to have that letter in order to get my copy of the title. I want my lien released, I want my proof of that lien release, and I am not paying GM Financial another cent for them to do what they are required by law to do.

Consumer Complaint: XXXX/XXXX/XXXX GM FINANCIAL ACC # XXXX Late Dates : XXXX AUTO LEASE GMFINANCIAL XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, TX XXXX XXXX Dear GMFINANCIAL, I recently pulled my credit report from XXXX, XXXX and XXXX and to my amazement, saw that you recently have decided to report me 30 days late on this account in GM FINANCIAL ACC # XXXX Late Dates : XXXX AUTO LEASE I immediately disputed this information with XXXX, XXXX and XXXX and the results of the investigation came back " verified ''. Not only was I never late on this account, but according to the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ), as the information furnisher, you are required to notify me of the insertion of negative listings. Since I have disputed the lates with the credit bureaus, and you obviously " verified '' them, I am very curious as to what kinds of " records '' you may have for this alleged account. Under the FCRA, you are required to conduct an investigation on this account if I request it. I therefore am submitting my written request to you to conduct an investigation. Per the FCRA, you have 30 days to conduct this investigation and respond to my request. If you do not respond within this time period, per the FCRA, you must remove this negative information. Furthermore If you do n't initiate an investigation regarding my dispute, as it is my right under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, I will have to take legal action to protect my credit rating and myself. Consumer Complaint: I had a vehicle loan serviced by GM Financial on or about XX/XX/XXXX and made timely payments when I had a full time job until I fell behind due to having a lower paying job. I called GM Financial in XX/XX/XXXX and advised them that I wanted to do a voluntary surrender. They asked for where the vehicle was parked and I gave them the information. They did n't ask me to return the vehicle to any location ; instead they said they were going to pick it up, which they did. Instead of reporting on my credit report that this was a voluntary surrender, GM Financial has reported that this was a repossession. All am asking is that they report accurately on my credit that this was a voluntary surrender. If they had asked me to drive the vehicle to a location and hand it over, I would have done so, but they did n't.

Consumer Complaint: I leased a vehicle from a local Chevy dealer in XXXX, TX in XXXX XXXX. I turned in the vehicle ( XXXX Chevy Traverse ) in XXXX XXXX after having made all my monthly payments on-time via eletronic funds transfer and closing out the lease having paid it out in full with the vehicle returned with no damage. GM Finance told me upon turn in that the automatic electronic funds withdrawal for the monthly payment would end automatically and no further action was required by me. In contradiction to this, GM Financial continued to deduct the $ 500 monthly payment for the next two months for a total of {$1000.00} in overpayment. As soon as i noticed the problem ( on or about XXXX XXXX, XXXX ), i called GM Financial, requested they immediately deactivate autopay and refund the {$1000.00} to my account. The call center rep informed me it would be about 4 weeks of processing time before I would receive the check. When in XX/XX/XXXX I had still not received a check, I called GM Financial to check on status. They then told me they were still in the process of verifying the vehicle status and it would be another XXXX weeks before they determined disposition. I called again in two weeks and was told they acknowledged the overpayment and would be mailing a check to me in about two weeks. Not having received a check by XX/XX/XXXX, I called again on or about XXXX XXXX. At this point I asked to speak with a supervisor who told me the check was being processed and would be mailed on XXXX XXXX via registered mail. I called again on XXXX XXXX not having received the check. GM Financial told me their system reported the check was cashed on XXXX XXXX, a check that i have never received. This fact should be readily in evidence at GM financial by checking their records to see who and where the check was cashed. The supervisor told me they would expedite resolution and keep me informed. I 've now called back three more times on XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX and no supervisor has provided any information
