Issue: Taking out the loan or lease

Subissue:

Consumer Complaint: The problem is with GM Financial and the difficulty I 'm having with the company applying the funds that I sent, before my first regular monthly payment, to principle only. According to what I read, from the company 's literature, all funds made previous to or after a regular monthly payment or simple interest payments would automatically be applied to the principle. I also spoke with a representative who pretty much said the same thing ; before I ever made a payment. In the month of XXXX 2015 I paid a total of {$3800.00} on my car loan. To date my monthly payment has not changed even though I paid {$3500.00} over my regular monthly payment. The months owed on the loan was corrected to show that I now owe for XXXX ; that 's it. At first when I called I was told that the situation will be corrected. The last time I called I was told that my payments would stay the same and the months I owed would stay the same. What I had been doing is basically making early payments. When I email but get no response. Snippet of email sent to GM Financial '' I made a totalpayment of $ XXXXdollar on myaccount. I havecalled severaltimes to make surethat all of thefunds are appliedto my principleONLY. ''

Issue: Shopping for a loan or lease

Consumer Complaint: I leased a vehicle XXXX XXXX and my salesman took my down payment telling me I would n't have my first payment until XXXX since I was buying at the end of the month. I had got nothing in the mail during that time until the beginning of XXXX which is when I made my first payment. ( XXXX/XXXX/2015 ) If you look at my payment history is consistent and never late ... so I thought. My sales guy even worked that into the negotiations of leasing the truck. I thought to myself well I can save that payment and double up on the next one. I monitor my credit closely and started seeing late payments on there so I called today to find out I have been late cause my first payment was XX/XX/XXXX. Being this was an oversight by their sales team and I 've been consistently paying I thought they 'd consider removing these but they were rude and did n't. Please help

Consumer Complaint: For the XXXX 2015 payment, I sent a check to GM Financial. Twenty-four days latter the check still was not cashed. I put a stop payment on it with my bank which cost XXXX dollars. I then sent out another check to GM Financial. The account is current and five months have passed. After five months, I still see this as outstanding on my credit reports. Like its some type of retaliation by GF Financial.

Issue: Problems when you are unable to pay

Subissue:

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX I purchased a vehicle. My first purchased vehicle I paid off after 4 years with a 14.9 % interest rate. The lender of my second purchase was Americredit XXXX Later, bought by GM financial. After paying {$20000.00} of the {$25000.00} loan with a 19.9 % interest rate and a {$340.00} monthly payment. My vehicle was repossessed. For 2 years I paid on time, initially I was told after paying on time for at least 2 years I could refinance. That never happened. I became unemployed from XXXX. I informed Americredit/ GM financial of my employment status and continued to pay what I could, when I could in a timely manner. I would pay what I owed along with any late fees incurred. XX/XX/XXXX I worked a temporary job for the winter. I was able to catch up on my payments. I even made early payments toward my principle amount. The lender regularly accepted post-dated payments over the phone. On several occasions the lender would refuse to take partial payments, including the website. My vehicle was repossessed despite my attempts to remain in good standings with the lender. The lender has now sold the debt to another company, further damaging my credit. I have recently learned about XXXX and how minorities were targeted for higher loans. Online I have discovered many others who have went thru the same process as I have.

Issue: Managing the loan or lease

Subissue:

Consumer Complaint: I had a XX/XX/XXXX chevy XXXX. I leased this vehicle XX/XX/XXXX for XXXX miles a year for 39 months. During the period of time I had this car, I had at least XXXX recalls, as well as a blown transmission only XXXX miles into the lease. Needless to say I have been disappointed. At my 36 month mark I decided instead of bringing back in for ANOTHER recall issue, as well as additional transmission issues, that I would return my lease early and ask for my last XXXX payments to be waived. I called customer service at GM financial, and I was told they could not help me, and that I needed to call GM corporate. I called GM corporate and they said I had to call GM financial. Round and round we go. 6 hours over several days on the phone and no help. I finally get a " ticket '' and was told to bring the car to the dealership, they will do a diagnostic, and my payments will be waived. I returned this vehicle on XXXX after being told by GM that if I return the car, they will waive the remainder of the payments. Please note at time of return I only had XXXX miles on the car. WELL below my lease allowance. Well, I got a kick in the face on XXXX, GM financial removes {$460.00} from my bank account for this car that I no longer have. I tried calling again, only this time to be transferred numerous times and hung up on. I was also told that " there are no supervisors to speak to, they are in meetings ''. My fear now is that not only am I out the {$460.00}, but that they will continue to charge me for 2 more months for a defective car that I have returned. I want my money refunded, as well as any future payments waived.

Consumer Complaint: I obtained a loan with GM Financial in XX/XX/XXXX for over XXXX. On XXXX XXXX, the car was totaled. My insurance company received a payoff in the amount of approximately XXXX. They offered {$14000.00} which was credited to my account on XX/XX/XXXX. I was past due in my payments and an amount of {$1500.00} would have brought me current on XXXX XXXX. We are now in XXXX and I checked my account which stated I am still past due with a total amount due of {$1500.00}. I have spoken to numerous " agents '', all who have told me that I am still past due because the monies received came from a XXXX party and not me. I raised numerous scenerios, all which irritate the " agents '' more at which one in particular ( XXXX, agent XXXX ) told me the real reason why she is not going to work with me about my concern is because my account is coded as a do not contact and I ask too many questions and I have a " harsh tone ''. These are the questions I asked:1. SO if the check came from an uncle I would be considered late? - no because he is not a company2. If the check was for the full amount would the late fees be returned to XXXX and I will still be responsible for the late fees? - no ( no reson was given, it was at this point they begin to argue with the terms of my agreement ) 3. If I received the monies from XXXX XXXX and sent the payment myself then would I still be considered late? - no, because we got the money from you. Here I am, unable to get a car because this company wants to be retaliatary and continue to code me as past due. Agent XXXX stated he can not give me anything in writing regarding how they process payments because there is not one available, and other agents have said things from, call an attorney, we already spoke to you about this, or wanting to argue that I still owe because the full amount was not received, which was not the issue in the first place. The issue is how can I continue to be past due on a loan that had a minimum payment due of {$1500.00} but they received payment of {$14000.00}?

Consumer Complaint: GM Financial is reporting that we were late on our vehicle loan, when we no longer owned the vehicle. We traded our XXXX GMC Acadia into XXXX XXXX XXXX on XXXX XXXX, 2015. GM Financial reported that we were 30 days late on this vehicle on XXXX XXXX, 2015, 25 days after we traded the automobile into the dealership. They claimed that they never received the first check, so the dealership overnighted them one on XXXX XXXX. I called to verify that a payoff was sent to GM Financial and the dealership claimed one was sent out on XXXX XXXX, 2015. I asked that all copies of the check be sent to me and I would contact the finance company back. I did and they still do not want to listen and correct the reporting. The check was sent to them, but they did not apply it to the account, instead disposed of the check as to retain all the refund money up in late fees.

Issue: Problems when you are unable to pay

Subissue:

Consumer Complaint: I got a loan through GM ( Americredit ) I purchased the vehicle in XXXX for XXXX. After taxes and all the loan totaled XXXX. The payments are XXXX a month. Well in XXXX XXXX I was in a car accident and unable to work, Gm calls my house daily XXXX or XXXX times a day and I have explained my situation that I am injured and do n't want to talk about the same thing daily. When I purchased the loan I told them I only wanted a payment below XXXX. I was told that it would refinance in a year. They keep saying that they are going to work with me, but they have n't and I refuse to pay all that interest on a truck. loan started out at XXXX now I still owe XXXX after XXXX worth of payments. In XXXX XXXX, GM started calling my husband he was XXXX over the road, he kept telling them he could n't talk he would get back with them after he parked, they call him back to back everyday. It is illegal to call a person on their job so many times especially when you speaking with the person that tells you they will call you back. They put a repossession man on the truck and he logged into my facebook account and pretended to be my godson that is stationed oversees to get my address when they already have my address. Then he called my home and told me he was there to pick up the truck which he must not have been cause at the time I was out of town with my husband. He should have never called me that is total harassment .Then they called my sister, father in Kentucky and told them that I was behind on my truck payments which is scandal cause you talked to my husband several times, and also me I explained if I am home I will get the phone or call back so you did n't need to call anybody, then you called my friends XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX and told them the same thing. This is very illegal. When I asked them about refinaceing the vehicle they told me they do n't refinance, if you are a legal bank how do you not refinance when you told me that you would refinance the truck in a year, the only reason I signed the documents was cause I was gon na get a lower payment the following year which never happened! I want the interest taken off and the balance forward, cause the interest is not doing anything for me and I refuse to pay all that uneccessary interest when the truck is not worth it and nobody will refinance me cause the loan is upside down. I actually have a loan that is considered predatory lending which is illegal and I want something done about it. I am tired of the run a round from GM ( AMERICREDIT ). I also want pain and suffering from the harassing phone calls from GM and the Repo man and I want my husband compensated for the harassment on his job, rule clearly states not to call at a place of employment, GM kepy calling even after they were told not to call him at work. I also want compensated for telling my business to my family and friends. Thanks for your time and attention in this matter

Issue: Taking out the loan or lease

Subissue:

Consumer Complaint: In 2006, I purchased a used vehicle from XXXX XXXX in XXXX XXXX Florida. I used a lender refereed by the dealership, GM Financial. I was told that interest would be accrued monthly. However, the interest was accrued daily. The loan was roughly {$8000.00}, and the monthly interest was outrageous. I had no choice, but to use 100 % of my student loans to pay off this loan early. I was stuck in, what I believe to be, a predatory loan for around one year. I 'm not sure if I can be helped due to statue of limitations. I 'm sure I have thrown away most, if not all of my literature from the loan. My hope is that this loan history might be archived online.
