Issue: Problems at the end of the loan or lease

Subissue: Problem with paying off the loan

Consumer Complaint: My maturity date was in XXXX 2017 - In theory, I should be done with the car loan. I want to dispute the amount of {$4800.00} as to what my account states. When I decided to do a deferment I was NOT informed that the amount due at that time will accrued interest daily. I do not feel I owe GM Financial the US {$4800.00}. I do believe I ONLY owe US {$2500.00}. I have reviewed the account history of my payments made to GM Financial and I have paid over an approx. US {$41000.00} and an exception cant be made? I was never informed from any associate that my loan will accrued interest daily, when I decided to do a deferment. I never received any writing explanation on how the processes worked. If I would have been educated by the associate at the time of agreeing to the deferment, I might have reconsider the option at that moment.f. I have called GMF numerous of times, I have also reported them to the BBB. I have called and left messages for the supervisor I have also sent complaints via the GM financial website on various occasion and as of today I have not heard from anyone at GM Financial

Issue: Incorrect information on your report

Subissue: Account status incorrect

Consumer Complaint: Back in 2011 I paid one of our payments on line. We were notified that the payment went thru on their online system. It was n't until months later that we were notified that it did n't go thru. By that time we had 3 -30 day late payments on our credit report since it had put us a payment behind by not having that payment go thru. We were told that the problem would be fixed with the credit bureaus by the company but it never was and we have tried repeatedly to have it removed by disputing it with the credit bureaus with no success.

Issue: Problems at the end of the loan or lease

Subissue: Termination fees or other problem when ending the lease early

Consumer Complaint: Lease terminated XXXX, XXXX, two months early, very low mileage. {XXXX} excess wear and tear charged and an unauthorized charge of XXXX for " Sale Expense ''. Called XXXX ( 3rd phone contact ) and they waived ( deducted ) XXXX and stated XXXX} would cover the entire bill. ( XXXX, employee # XXXX, lease recovery department ). I sent in the {XXXX} with the knowledge they would return my XXXX} check - but they cashed the XXXX immediately after the call. Return calls are always unproductive " because you are not authorized to talk about your daughter 's account '' - my daughter has authorized them to talk to me on four occasions. GM Financial routinely loses records of prior conversations. I noticed they actually did not deduct the charges, but cashed my check for XXXX. Since then they refuse to talk to me " because I am not authorized ''. My daughter works in a hospital and has limited access to her phone during business hours ; she has called them four times and authorized me to speak to them about the account. They always deny that they have authorization. They tricked me into paying XXXX in exchange for a {XXXX} rebate, then declined to give me the {XXXX rebate.

Issue: Incorrect information on your report

Subissue: Account status incorrect

Consumer Complaint: My auto loan payment was due on XX/XX/XXXX. I missed that due date but ended up making my payment for the months of XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX in the amount of XXXX. I used the link provided on the website when I logged into my GM Financial account, selected payment option for electronic check, and submitted the payment. I received a confirmation from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX that my payment had bee submitted. A couple of months later while reviewing my credit reports, I noticed a major drop in my credit score and that the account had been reported as a 30 day late. I initiated a dispute because I believed my payment made it in time. The results of my dispute were not satisfactory to me. I left it alone and refinanced the loan with a different bank. Recently, I initiated the process of trying to obtain a home loan and the lender advised me that my GM account was an issue that needed to be resolved. I reached out to XXXX to request they remove the late and the response was once again negative. I still have the derogatory marks on my credit report stating I 'm late on payments which has decreased my credit score. This has caused me to get credit and loans over the past 2.5 years at higher interest rates than I would have if the information was accurate. I am getting the runaround from GM Financial and no resolution has been given.

Subissue: Billing problem

Consumer Complaint: On XXXX/XXXX/XXXX we signed a lease agreement for a specific monthly payment of {$260.00} for 24 months. We payed the first installed by credit card to the dealership on the same day.The dealership sent in a different " signed " document with a first payment of {$330.00} to General Motors financial leasing. We are being billed for the different amount. We have sent the agreed to amounts to GM financial along with all supporting documents concerning the contract amount. We have had several conversations and emails between the dealership and GM Finanacial. We have been told by the dealership that the issue had been resolved, however GM has no record of it as of this date. I have attached a chronological list of correspondence with the dealership and GM. Please note that we received a past due phone call from GM on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX even though the dealership and GM both stated that the first payment had been received.

Issue: Improper use of your report

Subissue: Credit inquiries on your report that you don't recognize

Consumer Complaint: On XXXX XXXX XXXX, the company placed an inquiry on my credit report with XXXX. I have requested documentation from both the company and from XXXX to support their permissible purpose in accessing my credit file. Neither has complied. The company simply sent a letter verifying that it had, in fact, accessed my file on the date mentioned. Pursuant to Section 604 of the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ). [ 15 U.S.C. 1681b ] Paragraph a, Subsection 2 a CRA can only furnish a consumer report in accordance with the written instructions of the consumer to whom it relates. As I have not given specific written consent for this company to access my credit file, this inquiry should have already been removed. The refusal of the company and the CRA to do so puts both in a state of willful non-compliance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Subissue: Confusing or misleading advertising

Consumer Complaint: In late XXXX or early XXXX XXXX My husband went to XXXX XXXX to get an oil change on his XXXX XXXX. After a few hours, he called to tell me the salesman we have always used there, XXXX XXXX, introduced him to a fully loaded XXXX XXXX XXXX. At this time my husband had recently completed XXXX. When I got to the dealership I was reluctant to agree to this jointly. I privately talked to the salesman and told him I was worried about signing jointly in case XXXX 's health did not continue to improve. Noteworthy - we were there several hours due to my trepidation and in that time my daughter called to ask if her fiance was eligible to use my father 's XXXX XXXX discount. I was told by XXXX XXXX that he was not. I was also told that if my husband wanted this car I would have to be on the lease because I was the family member for the XXXX XXXX or the discount would not apply. I also have a lease on a XXXX for my own use. In short, I felt pressured to sign. My husband XXXX on XXXX XXXX, XXXX due to XXXX XXXX XXXX and I 'm being told I 'm locked into this lease for a car I do n't like or want. l recently found out I was NOT required to be on the lease per the terms of the XXXX XXXX. My daughter 's fiance also lost out on a large discount because of this misinformation. This has caused a terrible financial burden, as my husband XXXX without an estate or any XXXX insurance. I feel that the dealership had a fiduciary responsibility to give me accurate information or find someone who could. When I found out in XXXX XXXX that I did not have to sign this lease XXXX XXXX went to his supervisor who verified verbally and publicly in the showroom that I was not responsible to sign that lease in order to receive the discount. At this point I am barely making ends meet as I continue to pay for 2 leases registration and insurance and drive only 1 car. I hope you can help me.
