Issue: Managing the loan or lease
Subissue: Problem with fees charged
Consumer Complaint: To Whom it May Concerned : After several attempts to fix this problem, first with the Department of Agriculture, then with CFPB submitted twice, I still struggling to solve this issue with GM Financial. One of your agents recommended me few contacts seeking for help. I contacted Florida General Attorney at XXXX, the agent advised me to contact CFPB and requested a grievance form. As I explained before I bought this car a XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX with a value of {$6900.00}, I was agreed to pay {$260.00} for 72 months with accrues daily interest. On XXXX I went to emergency room ( XXXX yrs.old ) from my work, I was admitted in the 2nd floor ( XXXX XXXX ) and stayed 4 days, I was discharged with restrictions one of them DO NOT DRIVE, because I have debts to pay including the XXXX, next day I back to work, meaning if I didn't make my payment at that moment was because I was very sick, I made late payments but i also paid my late fees and of course they fooled me with an extension. I recovered from my illness I went back to work full time, I did my payments accordingly. On XXXX again went to emergency room and I was discharge but to follow up with a lot of XXXX XXXX and XXXX I kept working, I wanted to make my payments. By XX/XX/XXXX again got very ill, so I decided to pay off the car before i turned XXXX. But since then it have been a nightmare with GM Financial. I have paid XXXX for 72 months ( XXXX ) for a car in the amount of {$6900.00} a total amount interest of {$12000.00}, the payment of two cars without interest. On XX/XX/XXXX, I sent an email explaining them my financial crisis. They called me offering me help so I met a commitment of {$300.00} by XX/XX/XXXX and {$300.00} by the end of the month. On XX/XX/XXXX, my paycheck was of {$430.00}. Therefore I could only pay {$270.00} and my account was overdraft. On XXXX, I received a GM Financial invoice dated XX/XX/XXXX with a total amount of {$1500.00} to pay and O PAYMENTS TO GO. I went to their page and they had a total amount of XXXX another discrepancy, always discrepancies. I think this have been very unfair, inhuman, and unnecessary for a company like this to continue with this embarrassing situation.

Consumer Complaint: General Motors has been using an incentive called Down Payment Assistance for the majority of the year on multiple vehicles which forces the consumer to finance a loan with their finance company, GM Financial, if the customer wants to receive the incentive. Down Payment Assistance is a 'cash on the hood ' type of incentive, where the customer will receive an extra {$1000.00} or {$2000.00} off the price of the vehicle if they finance a loan with GM Financial . If the customer decides to finance with a different lender then they will not receive the additional rebate. The problem is that the interest rates charged by GM Financial are considerably higher than other lenders in the market. Customers are being forced to finance with them in order to receive the added discount on the selling price of the vehicle. This in turn causes the customers to pay potentially thousands of dollars in extra interest over the life of the loan. Yes, a customer could refinance the loan with a different lender after receiving the Down Payment Assistance, but this would result in an extra credit inquiry which would lower their credit score, and there are other costs associated with refinancing loans. Please make General Motors stop their Down Payment Assistance program which is causing consumers to pay much higher interest rates through GM Financial and further enriching the XXXX XXXX at our expense. If there was no Down Payment Assistance the car dealers would set the customer up in a loan from a different lender which has much lower interest rates, typically 1-4 % depending on the customer 's credit.

Consumer Complaint: I went into XXXX XXXX XXXX to inquire on possible trading my car in for a newer model and year. I specifically told the sales rep to only run my credit once and if they were unable to give me the deal I was looking for off of that one hit, then I wasn't going to proceed with any transactions. However, once my credit was pulled once for the purpose of getting a car, I was not offered the deal I wanted and turned down the offers that were made to me by the dealership. However, later I discovered that they ran my credit more that once through other financial institutions in efforts to inquire car financing on my behalf ; something, I specifically asked them not to do. I recently worked hard on build my credit up so that I could purchase a home, which I recently did prior to entering this dealership -- and as a result of the hard inquires acquired due to them running my credit more than once, lowered my credit rating, something I take pride in maintaining.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2016 I went in to XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX, Indiana. I went to look at lease end options, and was considering switching to a used XXXX XXXX. I was given an option to upgrade my lease, and get a XXXX XXXX with features I wanted for XXXX/m. I was told GM had a special they where running, and they would pay the last five payments. I was also told that the milage I was over would possibly be forgiven, and I would need to call and speak to GM Financial. I asked how soon I would be able to speak to them, and the sales agent said he would provide me the number. Then it turned into I would need to wait until I got the bill in the mail. I took the car home for the weekend while they figured out the financing. I then went back and signed everything thinking everything was fine, and had to go back again to the dealer a second time because they didn't do the deal right. A year later I received a bill for the lease I traded for the new lease. I reached out to the sales person and was told they sent payment. I reached to gm financial and they said they did not. I have been working with the dealer to try to correct, but have been unsuccessful and been given the run around. I also filed an official complaint with GM Financial, and was not even called back about the situation. Spoke to sales manager in XX/XX/XXXX no luck, and spoke to General Manger last month and no call back. Some where someone dropped the ball, and they are not wanting to take honorship. I feel there is something that needs to be addressed, and even requested a copy of the deal but was told it was too long ago to possibly find. This is reported to my credit report and has been affecting it for over a year.

Consumer Complaint: I am writing about the bad experience I had at the XXXX XXXX XXXX Dealership located at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX MD XXXX ; On XX/XX/2018. While at work, I received a credit monitoring alert that my credit was ran at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, MD XXXX location around XXXX XXXX in the afternoon. I notified the salesman of this error and he ask the Manger, XXXX if this was done. She said yes, and they would correct it. However, I would have not known of this egregious error if I have not been alerted. I call the dealership requesting an at fault letter : XXXX, dealership manager on duty said that one would be sent, but never received. That was on XX/XX/2018. Thats really concerning. She violated the Federal Fair Credit Report Act, by running my credit without my permission. They were very unconcerned with trying to correct this very important and urgent issue. Second complaint with XXXX XXXX XXXX at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, MD XXXX. My wife and I purchased two vehicles, one in XXXX and the other in XX/XX/XXXX. The vehicle purchased in XXXX, according to GM Financial, they never received the payoff from XXXX. Because of this, my wife and I credit have been affected. Were both employees of the XXXX XXXX and maintaining good credit is a must due to our security clearances. We have worked with a different manager at the dealership, which has been more helpful than the last. My wife and I are seeking punitive damages for these reprehensible acts. I have buyer remorse. This has taken a lot out of my already busy schedule to address this. Since we were recommended by a friend who said that XXXX XXXX XXXX always had a good reputation, thought youd like to know you just lost a potential customer because of these poor business practices.

Consumer Complaint: In the past couple months this company allowed someone to use my credit without my permission. I received alert stating that I tried to apply for new credit, which is not true. I tried to dispute with all three bureaus and this company multiple time to resolve this matter about this inquiry. Each every time they stated that it was verified, not true. They cant provide with any voiceover, my Driver License or signature authorizing this inquiry. They are breaking the law and putting a hardship on me and my family with these negativity.
