Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt was paid
Consumer Complaint: I entered into an agreement with XXXX XXXX the company that GM financial hired to collect a debt for a vehicle that was reposted. The agreement was to make three payments in the amount of {$1400.00} totaling {$42000.00} to settle and close the account. Payments began in XX/XX/2019 with the first payment in XX/XX/XXXX, second payment in XX/XX/2019 and the final payment was made in XX/XX/2019. I received a letter from XXXX XXXX XXXX via email and standard mail stating my account has been resolved and closed in XX/XX/XXXX. I contacted both XXXX and GM Financial to have the information updated correctly. My issue is the information that GM Financial is reporting to the credit bureaus does not accurately reflect the agreement made between me and XXXX XXXX and it also indicate son my credit report that I still owe GM Financial {$6300.00}. I made three payments in XX/XX/2019, XX/XX/2019 and XX/XX/2019 on time as agreed with XXXX XXXX however GM Financial reported all three of those payments to the credit bureaus as a failure to pay. Currently the account on my credit report also indicates a past due balance of {$6300.00} despite the fact that I have resolved and paid the full amount all involved parties agree to. I am requesting that GM Financial remove the account in totality from my credit report with all three crediting reporting agencies.

Consumer Complaint: To whom it may concern, The XXXX XXXX that I leased for 36 months was turned in to XXXX XXXX XXXX on Wednesday XX/XX/XXXX. There were some additional items that I did not agree found during the final inspection that had been done weeks earlier. The Sales Manager XXXX XXXX assured me that he would take care of those discrepancies, which he did, and I walked away from the car. I have leased many times in the past and that was all I ever had to do when the car is turned in early and well under the mile allowance, I have always had great customer service from them. Some weeks later I got a call from GM financial saying I still owe for the vehicle, yet I hadnt received a final bill. The agent stated an amount. I disagreed with the amount stated because XXXX XXXX assured me this was all done with a XXXX balance. I figured it was a slip from communication from the Dealer to GM Financial. I then had XXXX XXXX call again to see how much the balance was because I knew there was still the matter of a disposition fee. I was right there and listened to the conversation. He was told XXXX balance. The person he talked to was XXXX at extension XXXX. She also said that the final bill was not generated yet and I will be receiving one soon. So Again, I was expecting a bill for the disposition fee. On XXXX, I sent a payment of XXXX to Gm financial. This was the Disposition fee. This was, I was told, The last obligation of the lease. And they said that the derogatory remarks on my credit report would come off. It was strange it took this long to figure it out, but again, I thought it was just a time factor. My biggest concern is that my exceptional credit record of NEVER missing a payment of my thirty plus years of credit record, that GM Financial by no fault of mine can damage my character by reporting that I have missed a lease payment that was not due to them. I have made numerous attempts to right this. I have been told by both the dealership and GM financial that there was a zero balance. Since my numerous attempts to right this have failed, I have since involved the Better Business Bureau.. I was hoping that this would get resolved before incurring the added expense of my Attorney. Be assured, my confidence in ever purchasing or leasing a vehicle through GM has been tarnished. Unfortunate, because I really did enjoy the car and the customer service provided by the Dealership. Also, I have made numerous attempts requesting a supervisor to contact me. None have. I would appreciate a reply.

Issue: Problems at the end of the loan or lease
Subissue: Excess mileage, damage, or wear fees, or other problem after the lease is finished
Consumer Complaint: I received a letter from GM Financial that I would receive a final bill for any excess mileage and wear and tear in approx 45 days after I turned in the vehicle. I turned in the Vehicle on XX/XX/2019. On XX/XX/2019 I received a final bill that was due XX/XX/2019. On the bill it stated excess mileage of XXXX, a disposition fee of {$390.00}, and XXXX in tax. I was not made aware of the disposition fee until I received this bill as it is not stated in an identifiable manner but rather buried within the contract. the dealership that leased the vehicle to me did not disclose this to us at the time of leasing the car and we were shocked to receive this bill 3 months after we turned in the car and for 3 times what we anticipated. Upon calling GM financial the associate I spoke to stated the fee was for auction services, however the dealership bought my car and the car was not sold at auction. The GM associate changed her story and said the fee was a end of lease fee, when I asked why I didn't have to pay this on my previous lease she said that she did not know and would have to pull the contract. I also kept checking the website for my lease to see what my final bill was and it stated paid in full along with my credit report which I pulled in XX/XX/2019 which stated paid in full. when I checked my credit report today it not says I owe money and the account is open again this is inaccurate reporting. I feel this is deceptive practices for leasing a vehicle and this information should be accurate, disclosed correctly to the consumer at the time of the lease and not hidden in the contract and reported accurately to credit bureaus. Not a complete surprise 3 months after you turn in a vehicle. The GM financial associate also stated that I have 30 days to pay before I am reported late.

Consumer Complaint: I leased a XXXX XXXX from XXXX and I set up auto-pay from day one. My payments were deducting automatically every month for the first year and half then in XX/XX/2017 they stopped and reported me delinquent. I only found out after I got alerts from my credit card. I tried to understand what happened but I never got an answer to this day. I said fine and I swallowed it. Then when I returned the car at the end of the lease, everything was fine and I was told there's nothing left for me to do because I didn't want to re-lease from them. A month later I get another alert about a delinquent payment (?? ). I call and they tell me its a disposition fee. I was never informed about it nor have I received a final bill. Yet, they destroy your credit score just like that. Horrible experience, no communication at all, and I will never own a XXXX again.

Issue: Managing the loan or lease
Subissue: Problem with fees charged
Consumer Complaint: I turned my lease in XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX XXXX XXXX. On time no issues. I received a letter dated XX/XX/XXXX from GM Financial Leasing stating they accepted my lease return and I would be billed for end of lease fees within 45 days. I never received this bill. My credit report showed the account was closed. I thought the car sold and I owed no fees because I never received a bill. Fast forward to XXXX of XXXX ; 8 months later. I have a new lease with another company and I never heard from GM ... ... .until now. I received a bill dated XX/XX/XXXX, stating I owed the disposition fee of {$420.00} ( including taxes ). This amount was due XX/XX/XXXX. They bill me 8 months later and give me 15 days to pay. I called them 3x and emailed their ebox that the call center gave me fro complaints. No written response as requested. When I called each time they stated I owed the contractual fee and if I didn't pay I would be reported to the credit bureaus. They stated the bills were sent out late due to the car wasn't processed until XXXX. I'm assuming as an oversight and shouldn't be my problem. *****Why is this my fault? The disposition fee is on the lease agreement to be billed at the end of the lease. I have a letter stating they would send a bill within 45 days. They did not. How do they get to bill me whenever they want? This is very deceptive. They made an error in timing and give me 15 days to pay? I paid today XX/XX/XXXX, because I have over an 800 FICO score and didn't need the headache of another fight. I want the leasing banks held accountable for their billing practices and should not be allowed to bill customers whenever they want.
