Issue: Incorrect information on your report
Subissue: Account information incorrect
Consumer Complaint: GM Financial has, for over a year, incorrectly reported my balance and continues to ignore my repeated requests to fix my account status with their company. I filed bankruptcy in XXXX of 2019, entered into a reaffirmation agreement in XXXX of 2019 ( attached ), and had the debts in my case XXXX in XXXX of 2019. I have made every payment on time since signing the reaffirmation agreement and have never once, before or after the agreement, been late or missed a payment. Yet when logging into my account, I still can not see my balance, the website shows my account in bankruptcy ( images attached ). My credit reports routinely have an incorrect balance owed because they don't update when I make my monthly payments. I have not received a single statement since entering into the reaffirmation agreement and they're not available online either. This results in an overstated amount owed on the loan on my credit reports.

Consumer Complaint: When I attempted to turn the vehicle in at the local XXXX XXXX at the end of the lease, I was told that I needed to make an appointment to have the vehicle inspected before surrendering the vehicle. I made several appointments and missed time at work showing up to appointments and told that the inspector was not there. A few months after I turned the vehicle in and told the dealership, I could not afford to keep taking off work for this. They did not inspect the vehicle until a few days later. I was charged for additional lease payments that I did not incur due to several inspection appointments that GM Financial missed. When I surrendered the vehicle I asked for paperwork that I dropped it off and the condition and was told that their computer system was down.

Consumer Complaint: I have tried to reach out to the company making them aware that I have been diagnosed with XXXX XXXX, laid off and can not pay at this time. I asked for a pandemic deferment for two months and they said they are not offering this to customers at this time. Although I have reached out to them and explained my situation, GM financial has continued to harass me several times a day. My payment is not even one month past due and the representatives have threatened to send me to collections. Please help me with what I can do to protect my investment. I am a law abiding citizen that always pays my bills on time. Thank you and I look forward to hearing from someone in the near future.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I visited XXXX XXXX GMC dealership for the purpose of trading in my XXXX XXXX XXXX. My salesperson, informed me that my payoff for the vehicle was {$24000.00} which was incorrect. After reviewing my GM Financial Contract and talking with multiple employees at GM Financial, I discovered that GM Financial is fraudulently " overcharging ''. My first payment of {$570.00} of 75 payments- started on XX/XX/XXXX. An unknown customer service representative from GM Financial informed me that I have paid over {$18000.00}, so far. The total price of the vehicle, according to the contract, is {$43000.00}. The Finance Charge for the vehicle ( for 75 months NOT 30 months ) is {$11000.00}. GM Financial is failing to reduce the FINANCE CHARGES for early termination of contract.

Consumer Complaint: GM Financial sent an invoice for lease end fees which was received by me approximately three days before it was due, and with absolutely no information regarding the rationale for the charges. I attempted multiple times to challenge this before contacting CFPB. The CFPB inquiry fortunately finally got me a response from the company. Unfortunately, the company 's delay in response resulted in over a month without resolving the issue. Before I even received the physical copy of the response from the company, they reported my account ( which was being contested by me ) as past due. The company is now refusing to remove that reporting, despite the fact that the payment was not made as a result of the company 's own delay in response. I feel they are trying to use credit reporting to strong-arm consumers into paying unsubstantiated assessments.
