Issue: Problem with a company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Was not notified of investigation status or results
Consumer Complaint: The state of my credit report is profoundly concerning, and my dissatisfaction is comprehensive. It is not just highly embarrassing ; it is evident that either you or the company bears responsibility for reporting this inaccurate information.

Issue: Problem with fraud alerts or security freezes
Subissue:
Consumer Complaint: With a goal of increasing my credit score ( which is above XXXX ), I recently applied for a new credit card and was contacted saying I needed to unfreeze my credit reports. I had no trouble unfreezing with the other two companies, but Experian has been an ongoing problem. I continue to be locked out from my own account because they do not acknowledge that my only phone number I've even had is associated with my account. I have tried logging in via alternative sign-in options ( 'sign in through your google account ' ), which also fails. Thus, I am unable to apply for any additional credit lines due to this freeze. I have requested to log into my account through all options allowed by their site, but am barred from entry and have no way through the system except for my phone number which they do not recognize. I think it is completely inappropriate that professional lapses by this private company could impact my financial fate in this manner. I ask the CFPB to reevaluate the unacceptable consolidation of power by these private interests.

Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Consumer Complaint: In XXXX of XXXX, my membership account w/ fraud alerts for the past 4 years was hacked & hijacked from my access even with paid premium features that were to protect and recover this issue. My account sign-in info was changed to an Experian email address keeping me from logging in and/or changing password to log in. Someone was applying for auto loans daily for a month causing dramatic drops in credit score, then numerous fraudulent entries started showing up on my report including extra ssi numbers, fraudulent addresses, a list of XXXX aliases when I've only used my real name all my life, fraudulent accounts claiming to be in collections when I've had no collections in my name in over 10 years. Each time I dispute this information, it shows back up on my report a couple of months later. Each time I call in, I'm sent on a " transfer cycle '' where I'm transferred back & forth to several depts for hours, then hung up on. Just to have to call in again, and go through the same treatment with nothing being rectified. My accounts that have been connected to Experian Boost were disconnected several times causing my score to plummet again, even while I've been working w/ XXXX other companies reporting timely payments to increase my score faster than usual. I've dropped XXXX points just in the past XXXX weeks and no one can expain this repetitive fraudulent activity to me even with fraud alerts, credit freeze, and I mailed/faxed in the police report at the very start of this ever increasing identity theft.
