Consumer Complaint: I opened a checking and savings account with Discover Bank at the beginning of XX/XX/2022. A week later after I opened the accounts ( around XX/XX/XXXX ), I receive an email saying my account was closed due to a business decision so I then tried to login to the app and website and got an error message saying that the accounts were suspended and I needed to call their Discover Bank phone line. I did that, and they told me that I needed to wait a full 60 days from the date that the account was closed before they could begin processing a check so I did that. It is now Friday, XX/XX/XXXX and I called them back and turns out they can not process my check until they verify my identity by me uploading an image of my drivers license to their online file service. I did this, but it seems like every time I call them I get different answers on how long to wait, what needs to be done, etc and I just would like my money back soon because I am currently broke and depend on that money.

Consumer Complaint: Hello officer, On XX/XX/2022, I opened my Discover card account successfully. On XX/XX/2022, I activated my Discover card account successfully. On XX/XX/2022, Discover required my consent to receive income information from the IRS. I gave them permission to check my information from the IRS by signing Consent Form XXXX At this moment, Discover temporarily froze my account to use. On XX/XX/2022, Discover completed verification of my account successfully, and my account was lifted. On XX/XX/2022, Discover closed my account permanently since they are not able to verify my personal information on my account. I dont understand why Discover closed my account since I filed my tax to the IRS and state tax office and got a refund successfully. I am not sure what information they wish to verify. Since my account is closed with ambiguous reason, I wrote a mail to Discover to ask for a reason, but I didn't get any response. In XXXX, I tried to reopen my Discover account, and I was rejected since I did not have sufficient credit history. At the same time, I tried to open one XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX credit account which does not require good credit history at all, but was also rejected. I believe that Discover severely hurt my credit history for no reason, and even forbade me to apply for a credit card in another company.

Consumer Complaint: I have been experiencing suspicious activity from my XXXX bank. Ive made complaints and the organization was not taking my concerns seriously. I ordered cards and changed my security and suspicious activity continued. I did not feel like my funds were safe and decided to create a new checking account. On XX/XX/22 I chose to discover bank as I liked the perks and what they had to offer. I was disappointed at the time ; they were not offering a checking account due to some company update. I told myself, Ill wait and make savings account to secure my funds. I make a {$500.00} transfer from XXXX to Discover bank. I realized I transferred everything leaving me with {$0.00} to cover for daily expenses like gas. I transfer {$60.00} back from discover to XXXX but my card was locked and became suspended. Ive even paid 1 or 2 bills using my discover ACCT # and R # discover since I couldnt use the XXXX card. Yesterday XX/XX/22, I moved {$250.00} from XXXX to discover, and then discover sends an email that my account is suspended for suspicious activity and provided me with no explanation. I called them and I was informed that the bank made a decision to close the account. They did not provide an explanation. I filed a complaint with them. I do not understand whats suspicious about me slowly transferring all my funds to Discover. The worst part of it all is that they are withholding my {$500.00} for 60 days and I have a major concern with that. That does not sound legal to me, I need someone to help me resolve this or to at least reconsider opening or sending {$500.00} as soon as possible.

Consumer Complaint: I have tried so many times to pay this credit card and everytime they add to what I owe. I have been paying them consistently enough to cover my interest and they add extra fees for no reason. This is the second time Ive had this issue with them. I want to pay them off but Im afraid they will claim my money was not in the bank and then im out {$1500.00} because they dont want to give my money back but wont put the correct balance on the account. If this complaint isnt taken seriously, I will be going to the Better Business Bureau and if it still isnt taken seriously, then further action will have to be taken. I will include the dates and amounts that I can and the rest I will show documented screenshots from my account. I had paid my account down to {$1400.00} and now they pushed it back up to XXXX. Apparently it was at XXXX but I pay consistently so they took it down. Either way the balance is incorrect. XX/XX/22 {$16.00} XX/XX/22 {$18.00} XX/XX/22 {$7.00} XX/XX/22 {$20.00} XX/XX/22 {$37.00} XX/XX/22 {$26.00} XX/XX/22 {$56.00} I included another document of a payment I made to them of {$100.00} ( when I created my first complaint on this site ) and more money in the past that Ive paid to them between them and now that they claim was sent back to my bank or that it was never in my account but it definitely posted.

Consumer Complaint: My name is XXXX XXXX and I was a managed user on my father in laws card. Me made me aware that he called in about my identify theft I been fighting and was asking about who would be responsible for the fraudulent debt paid with a XXXX to XXXX XXXX and the answer is XXXX XXXX. With that said he told Discover not to do anything and leave the card alone. However, the agent decided to take it upon themselves to dispute not just XXXX XXXX but all 12 Balance transfers that were done on that card. This caused mass confusion between myself and XXXX XXXX my father-in-law. We called multiple times at first with no responses and no one able to help telling us that they can not on undispute a dispute Which makes absolutely no sense because every card company I know of has done that. This resulted in two of my credit cards shutting down because they thought I did it and that was against their policy XXXX XXXX now has two cards shut down of mine which I was using to run my company and ultimately made me lose a ton of money and hurt my credit to the point where it was impossible to get a new one. Eventually we got in touch with somebody that undisputed the dispute and we got a letter stating that however somewhere along the line it got reversed then undisputed again and reversed then ended up saying that they couldnt determine who we were so we were responsible for the debt which also got reversed and then came the same balance that we had previous even though they took money back from XXXX XXXX XXXX and other institutions and said that they never received it finally they ended up finding it and crediting it back but not giving it back to the company like we told them to because they messed it up so we needed the money to go back to the institution that they originally paid so the cards can get reopened and we can get a letter stating it was a bank error and there was no issue on our side Discover credit card did not do this and still to this day did nothing to help us I and my father-in-law wrote a letter sending to all institutions of the issue that was going on with Discover and that they will be getting their money as soon as we can figure out what was going on. Most institutions listened however there was time frames and discover has missed them by far which is why I have two closed credit cards which ultimately hurt my credit a lot and the inability to run a business because I need to make purchases for every guy I hire equipment wise vehicle wise so on and so forth. With this being said we need this fixed asap as I can not build my company and provide for my family. And its very frustrating and I can not continue to fight banks and credit card Companies anymore as Ive been fighting them for over a year because of identity theft.
