Issue: Struggling to pay your loan
Subissue: Loan balance remaining after the vehicle is repossessed and sold
Consumer Complaint: Besides it was a used vehicle, after 4 months it started having problems .but i waited until i could n't drive it no more and then i stopped making payments. so right now credit acceptance have a lawsuit against me regarding that loan on the used car and i can't pay that no more. plus the dealer said that if the car break down and i take it to them they don't promise anything. So my hopes were really down to the ground. What kind of car dealership tells that to a customer?? So, they took the car away and however credit acceptance still want me to pay for it. That's why this company have so many complaints and that's why they have been sued They sent me a notice regarding this case where i should appear in court and i got it on XX/XX/2023

Issue: Managing the loan or lease
Subissue: Problem with the interest rate
Consumer Complaint: Hello I leased a used car through XXXX XXXX XXXX sales XXXX Tn. I purchased this with a credit lender Credit Acceptance back in XXXX. This loan was supposed to only be a {$8000.00} loan which the total of the car was {$6900.00} with the Lender giving the funds would equal an extra {$2000.00}. The loan now totals a {$18000.00} loan which I feel I have WELL over paid for this car which is a XXXX XXXX XXXX the remaining balance is {$6000.00}. The day that I purchased the car the car lot initially told me I would only need {$2000.00} down but I did end up giving a little more so that I could have a lower monthly payment. Which is actually far from the truth because the money is going towards interest and not the actual amount I owe. I have been paying this car off for almost XXXX years and when I went to pay off the remaining balance that my interest rate was 22.3 % which was never agreed on! I dont know how a {$7000.00} car is worth {$18000.00}! The lending company refuses to allow me to pay off the remaining balance. I have tried reaching out to multiple managers to settle my debt with them. Each month they are adding extra fees when I have well OVER PAID this car off. The car lot has now since went bankrupt and I have no way of refinancing or anything with this company. I am just wanting to settle with the company I have paid what the car is worth plus some. If there is anyone able to help me settle this dispute or if there is any refinance options please.

Issue: Struggling to pay your loan
Subissue: Lender trying to repossess or disable the vehicle
Consumer Complaint: We bought our vehicle from a car lot in XXXX Oklahoma we are Missouri residents we tagged and the registration is in Missouri. Our vehicle was repossessed XX/XX/2023. We paid a total of {$1700.00} and was set up on a payment plan to get the vehicle back a {$300.00} repossession fee was added to the account. On XX/XX/XXXX after numerous phone calls my wife calls back and they had cancelled our payment arrangement and they had taken off the {$300.00} repossession fee and the same day added that same fee back on the account. During that call my wife asked for a copy of the right to cure letter and they were supposed to mail a copy of that letter. On XX/XX/XXXX my wife calls again to credit acceptance about the right to cure letter the gentleman informed her that since we bought the vehicle in Oklahoma and that the loan contract was made in Oklahoma that they didnt have to send one for the repossession. We are wanting to know being Missouri residents dont we fall under Missouri law and that the right to cure letter should have been mailed or do we fall under Oklahoma law.
