Consumer Complaint: Credit acceptance closed my loan account in 2017, sold it to XXXX XXXX XXXX and still reporting a balance and negative remarks. The car was VOLUNTARY surrendered, and re sold. This is illegal and against the FCRA to sell a debt, try to collect again, and report it as negative under Credit acceptance when they don't own the account, XXXX XXXX XXXX does. They have ignored letters and requests to remove this off my report and stop with their illegal process of selling a debt to a collector I have no contract with.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2017 I went to a used car dealership XXXX XXXX Vehicles in XXXX, GA. The dealer ran my co-signers and Is credit which at the time was reporting in the very high 600s to the low 700s on multiple credit checks. I was told that because I had no auto loan score and our age that the only place that would accept me is Credit Acceptance. I received one of the highest APR rates, 22.99 % for a used car. To my understanding this was a consumer credit transaction. I later learned there was much deception in the contract. Upon reading and understanding law I learned that a consumer credit transaction can not include cash. Pursuant 15 USC 1662 ( b ). There was a down payment given of {$2000.00}, as well as a vehicle trade in during this transaction. I called the company multiple times trying to understand how they came across the numbers but, all I was told was that I had to speak to the dealer. When speaking to the dealer I was reverted back to credit acceptance. I was told Id be financing XXXX and I sat in front of a computer, directed to type in initials wherever XXXX XXXX directed us too. I was told I needed to hurry so the loan could process and me being a first time dealership lease user I trusted the process. I legally did not sign any documents with my initials, everything was signed electronically. I did not see anything explaining the XXXX rate, nor did any representative explain to me. XXXX XXXX also signed me up for services that I was not made aware of like GAP Protection ( {$920.00} ), and when trying to access this service I was given the run around on whether I had a valid policy. I was in two physical accidents, and couldn't access this GAP program I was already paying for.

Issue: Struggling to pay your loan
Subissue: Denied request to lower payments
Consumer Complaint: I have a vehicle loan with XXXX XXXX XXXX from XXXX of 2020. When I took out the loan the price started at around {$22000.00}, I put {$5700.00} down, after the taxes and tags, the finance was at $ XXXX. At 72 months. The dealer swindled me and talked so fast I could barely understand what he was saying or doing, but I had no vehicle and and a credit score at roughly 600 with no co-signer. So I agreed to whatever the terms were. I was explained my payment would be over {$500.00} a month and I was only making {$1900.00} a month at the time, so I tried to find a better job so I could pay it off quicker and be able to afford my life. Just as soon as I found a new job covid swept in. I worked from home a lot with XXXX kids, and eventually was no longer able to keep up with some payments due to lack of work. I explained to the company what was going on and they kept saying theyd notate the account and pay what I could. I missed full payments for about 4 solid months, and I continued to contact each month for an update. As soon as I began work again, I called to schedule a promise, and the day of payment they repossessed the vehicle in the night. It took me 7 days to get the vehicle back even though it had been released already. I spent another {$950.00} for a rental for those seven days so I could get to work. I asked what my loan payoff was at this time and they tell me its $ XXXX!!!!!!!!! I said put {$5700.00} down ; Ive paid {$520.00} a month since XXXX of 2020 other than those few months and somehow my loan is still at almost {$22000.00}?? Something sounds completely off here. Then the rep proceeds to tell me I was charged {$14000.00} finance surcharge that I wasnt aware of and was told my APR was raised and I was never given the rate. At this point I dont even know what Ive paid to interest or principal or how theyre calculating it. All I know is now I owe {$740.00} a month for 24 to bring whatever fees and interest current from being late for 4 months straight. This company is completely predatory and they are not here for their customers.
