Issue: Improper use of your report
Subissue: Reporting company used your report improperly
Consumer Complaint: After repeatedly trying to explain to Credit Acceptance that the account in question did not belong to me, the company refused to update their system and remove the car payment from my name. Despite informing them of this, they continued to report delinquent payments on my credit report and harassed me with calls regarding payment for an account that was not mine. I argued that the person who is responsible for the account should be the one to make payment, not me.

Consumer Complaint: Credit acceptance who was just recently sued by the CFPB for predatory lending as they gave loans they were aware car buyers could not afford & brokered with dealerships to hide higher than advertised interest rates by adding it in the price of the vehicles sold. Credit Acceptance is currently showing my account as closed as of XXXX but yet has a current balance of {$8600.00}. I want this deleted of my report for inaccurate reporting under FCRA as all information reported must be 100 % accurate, as part of their settlement Credit Acceptance is required to make those affected whole. Consumer Complaint: I believe Credit Acceptance Corporation ( CAC ) has charged me a higher interest rate than agreed in our contract. I purchased a vehicle in XX/XX/XXXX. The contract states a 22.99 % interest rate, when I did the math manually it turns out I am being charged about 31.29 %. My vehicle was repossessed in XX/XX/XXXX and even afterward, I am being harrassed to settle for the remaining balance in my account. When I first bought the vehicle, I was sold a lemon and the warranty sold to me with CAC did not cover everything. I've lost my only form of transportation, lost my job due to having no car, being thousands of dollars in debt, and my credit score has fallen.

The owner of the car company XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX MI, wrote a contract stating he would accept the balance of {$1400.00} within 6 months and cancel the contract but to no avail. I would like Monetary remedy for my damages, from CAC and XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: Credit acceptance gave me issues while i was having so many problems with my old vehicle XXXX XXXX XXXX and when i made multiple calls in to let them be aware of my car trouble. I dealt with very bad mechanical issues with the vehicle very much and credit acceptance didnt show compassion nor empathy in regards to the vehicle credit acceptance customer care did nothing but complain and say rude things to me while threatening me with repossession if I didnt submit a payment while dealing with a broke down vehicle that my daughter had to use her insurance road side assistance to have a tow from North Carolina which was XXXX miles away from my home which cost {$150.00} to have it towed back home plus the alternator went bad and had to be replaced was {$200.00} just for the part and the labor was {$140.00}. When I purchased the vehicle back in XX/XX/XXXX the XXXX XXXX XXXX was already sick to the point not even three months down the road it had transmission issues and got replaced twice and when i found out about it being sick and notified XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX located at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Virginia XXXX they didnt want to help me out at first then i told them i would sue them then thats when the manager XXXX called me and set up my appointment to bring my vehicle in and i then notified credit acceptance that my car payment wouldnt be in til sometime in 2 weeks due to the fact i had to pay my deductible to get my vehicle worked on and had to pay an XXXX to get back in forth to work .. otherwise i would of had to risk being without transportation all together but all together i just seek justice on my situation due to the fact that the vehicle already was trouble from the start and ended up needing to replace all of my oxygen sensors, catalytic converter, alternator, rostors so with this being said i chose to Voluntarily surrender that vehicle cause of the lack of help by credit acceptance as well as too many issues with the vehicle where i kept having to be inconvenience and wasnt able to have an enjoyable vehicle that was being paid on.
