Consumer Complaint: On or about XX/XX/2019, I purchased a used vehicle that was financed through Credit Acceptance. The vehicle was repossessed by Credit Acceptance during the COVID-19 National Disaster at which time I lost employment because of the World Wide Lockdown that affected my ability to pay anyone. I am a survivor of several positive COVID-19 test results. Credit Acceptance has failed to comply with UCC 9.506 as well as State XXXX and XXXX statutes. Credit Acceptance has filed a Civil lawsuit against me and continues to report inaccurate information to the Consumer Reporting Agencies.

Consumer Complaint: I co-signed a vehicle for my sons dad the car company that sold him the car knew the car was a bad car. The tires went out on the car a week after he got it and the loan that was taken out for the car was way too much. I was not physically there at the dealership with him to know that they allowed him to leave off their lot without having insurance on the car or how much the car actually was. If I was I would have never e-signed for the loan. Now the car is totaled and it is stating that there is insurance on the vehicle but he never put insurance on the car and neither did I. I have been asking the lender for information or to just take my name off of the loan because it is affecting my credit but no one is trying to help me. A lady I spoke with over the phone told me that someone from the dealership physically told her that he was going to get XXXX on the vehicle when he got home but he has never had XXXX ever in his life. I am looking for some help because I believe that there were some type of fraud that was done with the process of him speaking with the dealership and them helping him get plates and insurance for the vehicle that was never provided to the lender company for them to even get the okay to give out the loan. I have spoken to the owner of the dealership and she suspects it to be some type of foul play on their end as well. But she has still yet to contact us about whatever information she was suppose to be looking for or calling around to see what and why we still havent received any information about the license plate being bad or non-transferable after the accident.

I was in a terrible car accident and the insurance and financial company didnt want to do anything about even the few lawyers I talked to said these are the worst companies to do business with as they always try to get out of paying any money towards accidents. Now they keep putting out inquiries to the credit bureau, now messing up my credit score that Ive been in the process of fixing so that Ill be able to buy a home.

Consumer Complaint: Credit acceptance has a very distasteful way of doing business. After the pay off they include they silently included the XXXX XXXX on the pay off amount. They have yet to send me the original title and now Im stuck with a vehicle that isnt running and nothing from them to help. I cant even get the title from them. DMV ny tells me to reach out them bc they havent released the title and then credit acceptance tells me that NY is a title holding state and they need to send the title instead of them. There is not clear direction and all Im trying to do is cut my losses and sell this car. Do not do business with credit acceptance. They are professional scam artist and will take your money and silently make deals that can hurt you in the end.

Account number XXXX Date opened XX/XX/XXXX Date closed- Balance XXXX Account status open past due XXXX as of XX/XX/XXXX Last payment date XX/XX/XXXX RESPONSE TO CREDIT ACCEPTANCE RESPONSE ON CFPB RESPONSE TO DISPUTE 15 U.S. Code 1681c-2 a consumer reporting agency shall block the reporting of any information in the file of a consumer that the consumer identifies as information that results from an alleged identity theft. not later than 4 business days after the date of receipt. It has been 30 days and you are in VIOLATION of this law because I am a victim of identit theft!! Please delete these items as soon as possible! These accounts should not be furnished on my consumer report as they are in VIOLATION! Under, 15 U.S Code 1681b - Permissible purposes of consumer reports ( a ) IN GENERAL Subject to subsection ( c ) any consumer reporting agency may furnish a consumer und the following circumstances and no other : ( 2 ) In accordance with the WRITTEN INSTRUCTION of the consumer to whom it relates. Consumer Complaint: I filed an original complaint against CREDIT ACCEPTANCE and received a response from XXXX XXXX to seek further info about my complaint with the company. I explained that they have told me SEVERAL times that they don't have my debt and that it is being " handled '' by XXXX XXXX XXXX. Upon contacting them about the unlawful practices as advised by the FCRA of trying to collect a closed debt, in addition to a vehicle that was resold, they don't have the title to, wrote off with the IRS, and sent to another agency that I don't have a contract with I was threatened by XXXX XXXX with the Compliance dept at CREDIT ACCEPTANCE CORPORATION that she would update my credit report to say that a closed account is Open to try to collect a closed debt. I also advised that I would complain to the XXXX and was told by her that it would get compiled with this complaint to deter me.
