Consumer Complaint: XXXX I bought a XXXX XXXX from XXXX XXXX XXXX and was financed threw credit acceptance. I put down XXXX $ on a vehicle that was XXXX. From my understanding. The car was repossessed XX/XX/XXXX and I got the car back, this is when I pull out the contract and realized that the loan was misleading and deceptive. My car was damaged by the tow company also. When I got the car back I called credit acceptance to get a payoff amount.. it was over XXXX $!! I have already paid over XXXX $ to credit acceptance how can the payoff be over XXXX $? I did a car history report on the vehicle and it revealed that the vehicle has a branded title and it exceeds the mechanical limits. It states also odometer problems and could be unsafe to drive. This was never told to me by dealership or finance company.. the vehicle mileage was misrepresented to make it appear it had lower mileage to increase the cost or value of the vehicle.! I've reached out to the company and I get nowhere.

Issue: Struggling to pay your loan
Subissue: Lender trying to repossess or disable the vehicle
Consumer Complaint: I fell behind on my car note payments so I called Credit Acceptance to make arrangements. Even after doing this and them agreeing to the arrangement they still repossessed my car. I went through the proper steps to get my car back and I noticed the day I picked it up that the car was not driving like it use to! I spoke with a mechanic that asked if it was in an accident or something recently? Other that the tow/repo company coming and repossessing my car there were no accidents and issues with my car! The car is a XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX which is a front wheel drive vehicle. Come to find out the tow truck/repo company towed my car improperly which cause damage to the front end according to the mechanic. Damage that was not present prior to the date it was towed by the repo company. Up until then I havent had anything wrong with the car. I opened a dispute with credit acceptance requesting they repair the {$2500.00} worth of damage that was a direct result of the improper towing of the car during repossession which I feel they should be held responsible for. To date they still have not fixed my car or let me know what they dispute results are. I have diagnostic reports from the mechanics and my out of pocket expenses and video showing the improper tow

Subissue: Billing problem
Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX I began a loan with Credit Acceptance, at that time i had a stable job and was able to afford the payments which were {$280.00} a month, I was paid bi-weekly, which made my payments {$140.00} every two weeks, I then began a new job that paid more so at times I was able to pay extra.Fast forward to XXXX, I found out I was expecting and through out that time I experienced some complications that prevented me to be able to work at that time. XXXX rolled around, after welcoming my new addition I was the sole caregiver and still was not able to work payments were made when I was able to. XXXX I still was not able to work, I did not end up going back to work until XX/XX/XXXX, It was a part time job just to get through my first year of college I did make payments when I was able to. In In XXXX of XXXX, My family and I went on vacation XXXX and XXXX minutes away, with that being said my son who wasn't even two at the time was with me, how this place knew where I was located at this time I have no idea. The morning of XX/XX/XXXX I woke up to go get something out of my car only to find out my car was nowhere in sight, my first thought was my car had been stolen, no it was repossessed so I automatically called said company the lady I spoke to told me that there was no order on my car. And i asked how in the world I was supposed to get home from where I was long story short I had to pay {$900.00} and some change to get my car backXXXX XXXX XXXX, I finally secured a good decent paying job as it has allowed me to be able to set up auto-payments with said company. Even when I make payments they still call me to make payments when it automatically comes out of my bank account every other friday. I also recently tried to trade my car in my paperwork I currently have it states that if i wanted to sale or trade in my car i had to have their permission I called and was told I do not have to have their permission that it was up to the dealer if they wanted to buy it.I was then told that my payoff was {$3100.00} one day and then i called back a different day and was told i only owed {$2900.00} they are also saying that Im 120 days late with payments which i am not i have been making payments when I asked about that i was told i was 586 days behind on payments dating back to XXXX which I find that not to be fair when i have been making payments and almost have the car paid off. My payments now are {$190.00} every two weeks.

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX I just paid XXXX for my XXXX XXXX XXXX. I have been two weeks late on paying for 2-3 months now. Payment arrangements are allowed but late charges are still tacked on. They would not change my payment date from the XXXX of every month to the XXXX to solve this issue. Ive had this truck since XXXX. My interest rate it a LOT! Thats my fault for poor money management. But these unchangeable late fees will just add hundreds of dollars to my payment over time. Id like it looked into if possible. I got the truck for XXXX ish and after fees and credit acceptance it was XXXX over the course of payments. Just want to know if Im getting XXXX and what I should do

Consumer Complaint: The Fair Credit Reporting Act ( 15 U.S. Code 1681 ) says ( 1 ) The banking system is dependent upon fair and accurate credit reporting. Inaccurate credit reports directly impair the efficiency of the banking system, and unfair credit reporting methods undermine the public confidence which is essential to the continued functioning of the banking system. So whenever there is a violation under the FCRA, it impairs the efficiency of the banking system. This is a violation of my privacy with my consumer report, since I control what is listed and what is not. In the event that any accounts are reported without my written consent, that is considered identity theft. This is a violation of both 15 U.S. Code 1681b ( 2 ) and 15 U.S. Code 1681c-2. This leads way to civil liability against the credit reporting agency for negligent and willful noncompliance under 15 U.S. Code 1681n, which allows for {$1000.00} per violation, for account listed without my expressed written consent.

Consumer Complaint: Hi it's me again. So when looking at all the documents you sent me when you settled my judgement. I have set down went over them and yalls math does not math. So u have XXXX percent interest rate on a XXXX dollar car. Ok cool so that would be XXXX. However my finance charges were XXXX which is actually closer to XXXX percent which would give you the finance charge of XXXX. That's very deceptive. If I had of made all my payments I would have paid XXXX not including the XXXX I put down. For a total of XXXX for a 2015 XXXX. So if you go by what the interest rate says of 22.99 % the total would have been XXXX plus the XXXX down it would have been XXXX. Which it XXXX dollars less than what yall charged. I should hope that you all eventually quit screwing people. It's not fair for you to hide hidden interest rates. I will provide the copy of what u sent. Also when I would make payments you all would credit the XXXX dollars then reverse the credit for XXXX and add on XXXX to the balance with every payment. This company is shady and should change the way you do things. You prey on people that don't have a choice at the time. Then come after them when you know your hiding fees. It's not right. No I'm not just statified with you canceling the judgement against me because, I was taken advantage of and it's clear in black and white in the paper work. Just a little math and research goes a long way. At the time of the loan I wasn't in a position to math the whole equation out. I was a single mom doing the best I could with XXXX babies to make ends meet and needed away to get back and forth to work to provide for them. Please I beg you to stop preying on people. Please all pages included in the packet. Because I would have never even known you were literally screwing me had you not sent that response.
