Consumer Complaint: I purchased a XXXX XXXX XXXX from a dealership named XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX located at XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, NJ XXXX, back in XXXX. I paid {$6000.00} cash the day I purchased it and financed {$7900.00}. I was told there were no mechanical problems, he ( XXXX the car dealer ) had his mechanic check the car thoroughly inspect the vehicle and it was in perfect mechanical shape. 7 months later the engine blew due to a manufacturing defect that XXXX lost a class action lawsuit over. XXXX denied responsibility and told me I had to contact XXXX XXXX, which I did and they put the responsibility back on the car dealer because there was a 10 year window to have the car fixed for free, which was never fixed, and the window closed about a month and a half before I purchased the vehicle. I contacted XXXX about this to never hear from him again. Also, XXXX XXXX told me I needed to get the vehicle diagnosed through an official XXXX dealership, which I then did. I brought it to XXXX XXXX. They conveniently misdiagnosed my vehicle not once but twice, told me I'm under the mileage for my warranty, so we waited 2 months for my warranty company to come out and deny my claim for mileage reasons. Then after being lied to, XXXX proceeded to try and extort me for their misdiagnosis, telling me I owe {$1500.00} for the XXXX hours of labor they put into the car. I told them I don't agree and I will not pay for their mistake that has cost me already thousands. They have had my car now over a year, close to a year and a half. I received a phone call from the woman ( XXXX XXXX XXXX at XXXX XXXX who tried to extort me, telling me that due to a state inspection they had, they decided to put the engine that they wanted {$1500.00} for taking out of the vehicle, back into the vehicle so they didn't get in trouble and when would I be making the payment to release my vehicle... I was very angry, at the end on the phone call she told me that she would be charging me a storage fee daily. I'm so appalled by both of these companies, they've completely screwed up my entire life, I had a XXXX XXXX XXXX before all this, now I have almost {$20000.00} in debt for a vehicle that should've never been sold in the first place. Please help..

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/2023 XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX : Request for Assistance in Rectifying Credit Report Inaccuracies Dear Sir/Madam, I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to seek your support and intervention regarding a matter of significant concern related to my credit report accuracy. Considering the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, I find myself in a distressing situation that has affected my financial well-being and, subsequently, my credit history. The events leading up to my financial hardship began with a severe car accident that left me incapacitated and unable to continue my employment as an XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX. Subsequently, the pandemic worsened my difficulties, causing a loss of income that made it increasingly challenging to meet my monthly car payments. I took the initiative to communicate my financial predicament promptly to Credit Acceptance CorpXXXX, the lender associated with my auto loan, in hopes of finding a solution to my circumstances. Regrettably, I was informed that the lender lacked a pandemic forgiveness program or payment deferral options, and I was advised to make good faith payments as a minimum. Despite my insistent efforts to manage my situation, matters took a turn for the worse. The looming threat of car repossession due to delinquency prompted undue pressure from Credit Acceptance Corp. During this challenging time, a collector 's unprofessional action led to the revocation of my good faith payment plan and the imposition of an abrupt ultimatum to settle the entire delinquent amount, ultimately resulting in the repossession of my car. In a desperate undertaking to regain possession, I was forced to borrow funds from multiple family members to meet the sudden payment demand. What followed was a persistent struggle to rectify inaccuracies in the credit reporting process. Despite being assured that my payment history would be accurately updated once the delinquent amount was settled, discrepancies were evident in the reporting provided by XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX. I promptly raised my concerns with these credit agencies, only to be informed that the lender, Credit Acceptance Corp., retained the authority to address these discrepancies. Furthermore, my attempts to dispute the inaccuracies via their own Dispute mail-in form, directly with Credit Acceptance Corp. were met with denial. Even after successfully resolving the past-due amount, my ordeal continued. Efforts to negotiate unwarranted late fees that were attached to subsequent on-time payments proved futile, as Credit Acceptance Corp. maintained a policy of imposing these fees, attributing them to prior delinquency. This practice has perpetuated my financial distress and perpetually affects my credit report, despite my commitment to honoring payments on time. I am reaching out to the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX with the sincere hope that you can intervene in this matter to ensure the accuracy and fairness of my credit report. I kindly request your support in advocating for the proper reflection of my timely payments and the rectification of inaccuracies that are unfairly tarnishing my credit history. Your intervention would go a long way in assisting me to rebuild my financial stability during these trying times. Enclosed with this letter, please find relevant documentation substantiating my claims, including records of payment history cited from the Credit Acceptance Corp. website, and receipts, and should you require medical documentation of my injury, I can provide it along with the Law firm contact information who represented me during my injury case. I am more than willing to provide any additional information or documents you may require facilitating the resolution of this matter. Thank you for taking the time to review my situation. I sincerely hope for a positive resolution that would alleviate my financial distress and help restore my credit report 's accuracy. Your assistance in this regard would mean a great deal to me, and I eagerly await your response. Respectfully, XXXX

Subissue: Problem with fees charged
Consumer Complaint: I financed a used car on XX/XX/XXXX, with a used car dealer at the time they were in a transition to change their company name from " XXXX XXXX XXXX '' to what they are now called " XXXX XXXX ''. The loan company is named " Credit Acceptance ''. On my bill of sale I owe {$25000.00} for a XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX quad cab. I was also informed that this is the total amount I will owe. But when I logged in to my online account today with credit acceptance on XX/XX/XXXX, it shows that the initial cost of the vehicle is {$44000.00}. Which is untrue. Other times I have logged in prior to this I've noticed it fluctuated from XXXX to the XXXX range. and today {$44000.00} is what is reflected. I sense there is some numbers manipulation going on here and I sense that credit acceptance is not being honest and is not conducting business in complete legitimacy. Also at the time this was my first time purchasing or making any kind of auto purchase ever and I knew nothing about credit or interest ratings for car loans. After making this mistake I've learned that the whole time I was being taken advantage of as I didn't know that 22 % APR on a used car was so high. Whether that be a used car or a new car for that matter. I learned that this rate is unacceptable as I tell everyone about my APR interest rating, they all tell me its extremely high and that I pretty much got taken advantage of. I demand that this unfair act be corrected and that no one else shall have to face the same financial hardships I have due to such high rates! I would like to move forward with addressing these issues and have the credit acceptance company take full responsibility for their actions! I have looked at my online contract and noticed there were fees not discussed in greater detail with me at the time of making the purchase. I initially thought that I would be paying only {$25000.00}. I realized now that it was the high interest rate at 22 % that made this amount go up. It doesn't make sense to me and I'm not happy about it at all. I feel as I have been tricked into making the purchase and no one ever explained to me that I would owe more than the vehicle was worth!

Consumer Complaint: Motor Vehicle Purchase Date : XX/XX/XXXX Total DownPayment : {$5700.00} Make & Model : XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Odometer Reading at purchase : XXXX As a new credit user an authorized working immigrants, we went inquiring about a car to purchase for a reliable transportation to/from work. XXXX advised us that he is not able to disclose the price for the vehicle until after we submitted and signed a few documents which we did. The contract was never explained. They had us sign the document under the pretence that Credit Acceptance was not able to disclose the total cost until after we submitted such. We were advised that the car was ok and that we only needed to put gas in the car and air in the tire as the tire as the pressure was low. After we drove off the lot and on the journey we realized we were feeling this strange vibration and hearing this noise from the car whenever we accelerated so i immediately called XXXX and he advised me not to worry that it was just the tire causing the vibration. We were almost at work ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX so we unable to turn back. Later that night when i was leaving work i realized that only one of my headlights had light but it was extremely faint so we had to be piloted home by another vehicle. I decided the following day to drive it again to work and have our mechanic take a look at it. I took off the bumper an immediately advised that he was not going to touch it and he thinks it 's best to have the manufacturers look at it so i parked the car at work and immediately booked an appointment with XXXX XXXX for XX/XX/XXXX. I again called XXXX 's to let him know that i will be dropping the car off at his office to look at the issue, This was done on XX/XX/XXXX and i also notified him about my upcoming XXXX appointment. XXXX had the car from XX/XX/XXXX until XX/XX/XXXX when he brought it to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX to fix. I ended up spending a total of {$3800.00} of MY MONEY to fix. When i finally got the car back XX/XX/XXXX it was even worst and i have documents to prove such. I immediately book another appointment with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX for XX/XX/XXXX and the to date the car is still there with a $ XXXX bill. Turns out the car was in an accident and the warranty they provided does not cover all the damages on the vehicle. In Florida, the maximum permissible interest rate is 18 % per annum. If a lender charges interest at a higher rate than 18 % computed on an annual basis, the lender is subject to civil penalties that include forfeiture of the interest, both already paid and remaining to be paid. I was charged a total of 23 % and {$44000.00} loan total.I have been out of work for almost 2 months as i was fired due to missing work in an attempt to fix the issue with XXXX. Who by the way was rude and keep hanging up on us or refusing to return or calls on several occasions. XXXX XXXX monthly payments are still hitting my account from Credit Acceptance. I even tried calling them to provide an update on my current status and they advised me that they are not able to hold payments due to me being unemployed. Please help me!
