Issue: Repossession
Subissue: Deficiency balance after repossession
Consumer Complaint: Account Number XXXX On XX/XX/2020, I XXXX XXXX purchased a XXXX XXXX from XXXX XXXX XXXX, located in XXXX, NJ. Unfortunately after further review the vehicle was unsatisfactory and realized there was information about the vehicle that wasn't provided at the time of purchase. When I took the vehicle for a test drive I informed them that the vehicle kept shifting to the right. I asked that the issue be fixed before I agreed to buy the vehicle and they agreed. When I returned to purchase the vehicle everything seemed fine. About a week later the vehicle started shifting towards the right again. Took it back to the dealership and explained that the car still had the same problem. After further investigation I looked up the VIN number and realized the vehicle had been in an accident on the passenger side and this information was not provided to me at the time of purchase. I was accepted for a loan thru Credit Acceptance in the amount of {$19000.00}, after looking into it I realized that not only was the car not worth that price, in top of multiple hidden fees, the price on the car was raised. On XX/XX/XXXX the car was listed at {$13000.00}, on XX/XX/XXXX {$13000.00}, and XX/XX/XXXX {$17000.00}, which is when I purchased the vehicle. Not to mention the {$200.00} cash I had to pay for my registration and plates. Furthermore, after I stopped payment on the vehicle, not only did they call everyday, they even sent a check book with my Credit Acceptance account number preprinted on it, with a letter stating that it was to help with payment of the vehicle. I eventually voluntarily surrendered the vehicle and it has caused a very negative impact on my life and on my credit report. I managed to pay {$11000.00} towards the debt, and brought down my outstanding balance of {$25000.00} to {$14000.00}. The fact that not only was the price of the vehicle raised by {$4300.00} at the time I purchased it, an extra {$1700.00} was tackled on top of all that, plus the outrageous interest fees I was being charged. At this point I feel since the original price of the car was {$13000.00} six months prior to the day I bought it, I have satisfied what was owed on the vehicle. At the moment I do not have a steady place of residence so please email any correspondences pertaining to this matter to my email address XXXX. Thank You

Consumer Complaint: I requested my XXXX Credit Report and received Report # XXXX and noticed an entry that was furnished by Credit Acceptance Corporation which I have never engaged in business with. I notified them and asked them to verify/validate this debt on XX/XX/2023. As of XX/XX/2023 I have yet to receive a signed contract showing my financial obligation to said company. Furthermore, in the Comments section it says the first payment was never received, however I have some statements showing that there were a few on time payments. Additionally, I was part of a lawsuit with XXXX XXXX as there was a data breach and I believe my information has been used fraudulent since then ( see attached document ). Therefore, there are a number of inaccuracies as reported by this company. After reviewing 15 U.S.C 1681 Section 602 clause 4 I have good reason to believe that this consumer reporting agency has violated my right to privacy and am therefore requesting that this slanderous information be removed immediately.

Issue: Repossession
Subissue: Damage caused or loss of personal items in vehicle during the actual repossession
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/, a repossession company came and repossessed my truck, did not realize that there was a 20 ft trailer connected until they tried to drive away. Backed the trailer up into the side of my portable storage shed and ripped the side open. In Michigan there is a breach of peace law pertaining to repossession that requires that a person by made whole for the damages. The loan company would only waive the repossession fees and not pay for the damages incurred by their contractor.

Consumer Complaint: I am writing to submit a formal complaint against CREDITACPT concerning a late payment entry on my account ( Account XXXX XXXX ) that is appearing on my credit report. I firmly believe that the handling of this late payment entry by CREDITACPT is a violation of my rights under 15 USC 1666B, which governs billing errors in consumer credit accounts. As a consumer, I am seeking the intervention of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to address this violation and ensure that my rights under 15 USC 1666B are acknowledged and upheld.
