Consumer Complaint: My automobile loan on my 2012 XXXX XXXX is through Credit Acceptance. I had already being paying on the loan at a 26 % interest rate with all payments being on time when I called to set up auto pay in an attempt to pay extra each month towards paying my loan off early. When I called I was told by the person answering the phone that I would have to provide proof of income before she could help me. I told her I already have a loan with them and was attempting to pay an additional amount each month in an effort to pay it off early. She continued to insist that I immediately provide her proof of my income before she would help me. I hung up and called back and spoke with someone else who told me I did not need to provide proof of income on a loan I already possessed. A few days ago, I received another call telling me I owed additional fees. I asked how that was possible since I pay extra each month anyway. The person was unable to provide me with the reason and continued to threaten to turn me over to collections and lower my credit score. I told them I was going to report them for harassment and extortion and they hung up. Today I began getting calls again for the same reason. I asked them to pull the recordings of the previous calls and was told they could not do that. I then asked why the pre-recorded message said " this call may be monitored for security purposes '' and again, they were unable to give me an answer.
