Issue: Managing the loan or lease
Subissue: Problem with additional products or services purchased with the loan
Consumer Complaint: I purchased a car from the care dealership ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ). I feel that there were many misleading comments about the purchase of the car such as repairs that were to be done, etc. The interest was also excessive, they charged me XXXX in interest on a XXXX loan. The interest was charged up front which was very heavy. I had to pay on the car for over two years to come back to a little under the original price of the car. I feel that much of this was explained to me after the fact and not before. The print on the contracts is very small and hard to read which I explained to the finance people that I had a hard time reading the contract and asked for help explaining it. After having to deal with trying to get the repairs done on the car which was a whole other story, I found out other issues. When I took the car to the dealership for the repairs, they put a tracking device on my car along with a GPS Starter Interrupt system. To me, this has not only been a complete invasion of my privacy, but dangerous as well as I feel that this has been affecting the way that the car operates. I have taken my car in multiple times to get looked at by mechanics. I have had several tell me that the system could be malfunctioning and affecting the way that the car drives, etc. I have made several calls and complaints about this to Credit Acceptance and the dealership. This is not even legal in the State of Nevada anymore, however, they are getting around this stating that I am grandfathered in and that they can do whatever they want with this. The other issue is that if I ask to make payment arrangements, etc. I get threatened that they are going to shut my car off which they have threatened me on multiple occasions with this. I feel that this is a form of extortion and is also dangerous.. A woman was driving on the freeway in XXXX when a company shut her car off while she was going 60 mph. I have medical issues and do not want to be stranded in 110 degree heat out in the desert if someone at Credit Acceptance gets upset with me and decides to shut my car off, etc. I have had times where I have been on the phone with employees of Credit Acceptance where they tell me that they are going to look me up on the GPS, etc. This is a complete invasion of my privacy and rights. I am very upset about all of this and this has been a great deal of stress on me. I have been making my payments to them and have paid over XXXX on a car that is not even worth this at this time and still over over XXXX on the car. There are major mechanical issues with the car as well ranging from gas smells from the gas tank to the feeling like the breaks are being put on their own, etc. There are times where I do not feel safe driving the car and have told both companies about the problems.

Issue: Getting a loan or lease
Subissue: Fraudulent loan
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2018, XXXX XXXX in XXXX, AZ, refused to get me a loan at the true market value of my XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX with XXXX miles. XXXX year old used car. Dealer produced by them, a manufactured XXXX XXXX XXXX price of {$6900.00} fully loaded. My car is not fully loaded. The correct price of this car on XX/XX/2018 was {$4300.00} for fully loaded. My car would have been less money. Dealer over charged me for the car- {$7900.00}. Auto dealer fraud. Credit Acceptance told dealer that the {$7900.00} is the price of the car or no loan. High pressure sales tactics. Lender took advantage of me. Lender refuses to tell me what my credit score was on XX/XX/2018, what is the minimum credit score? -lender refuses to answer me. Lender gave me a predatory car loan for 22.99 % in Arizona, where I live. The Arizona usuary rate is 10 %. There is no compounding interest in Arizona for car loans. Predatory lending is a practice that is unfair or abusive to the borrower. The fraudulent loan charges me almost 50 % interest. The total sale price on loan- charges me my {$1600.00} down payment. False advertising by the dealer on XX/XX/2018. Equity stripping by lender pursuant to FTC. Overcharging me for the loan. I was deceived by Credit Acceptance from the beginning. Unfair business practices and consumer fraud-deception. Credit Acceptance still has blatant disregard for the rights of innocent purchasers-me. Credit Acceptance does have the dealer invoice with the price of the car and my credit score.

Subissue: Lender trying to repossess or disable the vehicle
Consumer Complaint: Due to losing my job I was unable to make payments on time, however I always contacted the company to set up a payment arrangement. Last month they took the car and I called and made a payment arrangement of {$250.00} on XX/XX/XXXX and {$430.00} on XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX I called to make the payment on to find out where I could go to retrieve the car. This is when I was told the car was sold on XX/XX/XXXX, they said they were gon na try to find out why it was sold. On the XXXX they said nothing could be done because they sold it at an auction, that they were sorry because it was a mistake on their side and that we were gon na get the {$250.00} back from the first payment. We've been paying the car since XX/XX/2017, with really high interest. A car that was worth {$14000.00}, was financed for {$31000.00} and was sold for {$11000.00}.

Issue: Problems at the end of the loan or lease
Subissue: Problem while selling or giving up the vehicle
Consumer Complaint: I purchased a vehicle from XXXX XXXX of XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/2018 under XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. The vehicle was a used XXXX XXXX truck for sale at {$16000.00}. Shortly after purchase ( within 1 week ), the car began to experience serious malfunctioning issues. After several attempts to fix the vehicle by the dealer, and having the vehicle damaged by the dealership while it was in their care for 2, almost 3 weeks right after purchase, I requested a refund of the down payment of {$4500.00} and asked to return the car which was met with much difficulty and lies. I went through all state level procedures to file a complaint and an agreement was made by the dealership with the Office of the Attorney General Consumer Protection Division to refund me my money, take the car, and cancel the loan that was in conjunction with Credit Acceptance Corporation. XXXX XXXX, nor Credit Acceptance Corporation will corporate -- despite an agreement to cancel the loan and my purchasing of another vehicle from a reputable dealer. The car is not driveable and sits in the damaged lot of XXXX XXXX. XXXX XXXX stated that it is on Credit Acceptance to refund my money and cancel the contract. Credit Acceptance says they can not do anything until the dealership does it, and says the cancellation and refund resolves with the dealer. No party seems to be telling the truth, regardless of all the proof that the car should not have been sold. I am out of {$4500.00} for a car that does not work, that failed inspection, and I do not drive. Credit Acceptance has not been helpful at all and neither has XXXX XXXX. Credit Acceptance keeps billing me, and XXXX XXXX refuses to take their car -- they stated they won't corporate with the transaction and that they will allow it to get repossessed-something I can not afford. Neither party is recognizing that this car was sold that didn't function properly and is still holding me accountable. I have attached proof.

Consumer Complaint: This complaint is regarding Credit Acceptance. I became one month behind ( I have been paying consistently since XX/XX/2016 ), and they have used this as an opportunity to continually raise my payments ( which I have not missed ). They call me constantly at work and on my cell phone. If you are off by a day or two, they state that you broke your agreement, and raise your payments and threaten to repossess the car. I bought a XXXX XXXX XXXX which has a XXXX XXXX XXXX value of approx. {$5000.00}. They reported on my credit report that I am financed for {$10000.00} but I actually am financed for {$19000.00}. This company takes advantage of borrowers that have lower credit scores, and they feel they have the right to rip them off. I am paying 4 times the actual value of the vehicle. I can't imagine what these people do when customers are really behind on their payments. One lady stated to me, " don't be a day late or a dollar short, or we'll reposess the vehicle ''.

Consumer Complaint: My loan with Credit acceptance was being taken out directly from my checking account. My bank removed the payment without notice therefore, I was unaware it was not being paid. By the time I discovered it my payments were behind several months. I have started giving higher payments since then. First payment was {$500.00} & then {$190.00} every 2 weeks. As you can see loan is going down? This is highly affecting my score & very unfair. Please help? Thank you
