On the afternoon of XX/XX/XXXX ; I was approached by my neighbor while walking from the mailbox located on the street corner. My neighbor ( female ) who resides at XXXX XXXX XXXX ; stated that she was outside in her yard when she noticed a tow truck driver ( XXXX male ) pulled up and was sitting directly in front of my home located at XXXX XXXX XXXX. She stated because he could not visibly see what cars was at my residence ; due to the garage door being closed. He yelled to get her attention and asked information regarding the residents living in my home and if she saw a grey XXXX XXXX. She asked him what business is it to you, and he told her he had a work order to repossess a XXXX XXXX. She told him that was none of her business and continued what she was doing. She told me he began asking other people outside about the car. She noticed after a few minutes went by the tow truck driver pulled off. My neighbor advised told me to please keep my garage door closed. I immediately advised her that I had nothing to hide and will contact the lien holder on Monday. Therefore, on Monday, XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX XXXX. ; I called Credit Acceptance Corporation at XXXX and spoke to Mr. XXXX at Extension XXXX. I advised him that some tow truck driver ( XXXX Male ) was asking my neighbors about the XXXX XXXX XXXX and had the audacity to state he was repossessing the car. I informed him how humiliating it made me feel to have my neighbors knowing my personal business. I told him if the driver would have knocked on my door ; I would have given him access to the vehicle. He proceeded to take down my statement and assured me he would escalate my complaint to a supervisor and have the vehicle picked up immediately. Furthermore, Im requesting a full investigation into this unethical business practice of this company. As a result of this unethical violation ; Im seeking to have this improper seizure and debt removed off all credit bureaus and seek damages. The creditor did not notify me in writing and/or by phone of the repossession. I was not notified of this debt and/or repossession until after Credit Acceptance received possession of the vehicle and my letter notifying them of this debt. As of this date, my letter has not been responded to by the creditor. I greatly appreciate your assistance in this matter and look forward to your prompt response. Respectfully, XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: The Fair Credit Reporting Act is a federal law designed to protect consumers against unfair credit reporting practices and protect credit privacy. The act governs the consumer reporting agencies and those who access consumer credit reports. The general purpose of the Fair Credit Reporting Act is to ensure that these agencies are FAIR, ACCURATE, AND EXHIBIT CONFIDENTIALITY in his or her credit reporting methods. The information being reported on my credit is not ACCURATE in regards to Credit Acceptance, they have committed fraudulent activity based on the contract they sent to me, everything is completely different in comparison to the original contract that i posses, according to the credit bureaus they have to report accurate information and if not they must remove the item from my credit reports, i would like CFPB to verify my original contract in comparison to the made up contract they have, and once it proves invalid request this item to be removed from my credit.

Subissue: Problem with fees charged
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I called credit acceptance because I noticed the last bit of my payment didn't come off on the XXXX like it usually does. I didn't think much of it at the time, thinking it would charge me the next day. Not until I checked my credit report and noticed I dropped 56 points. The company had marked my XXXX payment as 30 days late when not even a day has passed. I called on the XXXX and was not even able to get an answer to how this happen. They just wanted me to pay what was due which was XXXX and some change. The first gentleman didn't even try to listen to me stating my payment was XXXX, and once I paid this off the account would be closed. I finally got to send a dispute on behalf after questioning it several times. I had questions on how this can happen, and he absolutely refused to help me what so ever. Just trying to get me to pay despite my understanding it should have been taken out of my account already. I finally went to pay over phone and there was a fee attach to pay over the phone. So not only did they drop my credit score for a payment that was never late, but they wanted me to spend extra to pay what was left. I called to get a person again, and once more had trouble getting any help. The woman stated my auto pay was canceled and said I must have canceled it. Which is not true. When it was set up I was told it would go until I didn't owe anymore. Again it was hard to get any answers out of her. When I asked about me getting marked late she said I've been late on my payment which is not true. I had one late in XX/XX/2016 which I quickly cleared up. In almost 3 years I've been on top of payments and not once was I ever told I was behind. She remarked saying I rarely called and I let her know I didn't have a reason to call. My payments came out on time with no worries all 3 years. Honestly I'm extremely frustrated because I've been working so hard to get my credit up, and at the whim of this company they decided to mark me late for no reason. Then when I try to get an answer I get no help just saying to pay the rest to close the account. Then the real kicker is make me pay a small fee to pay off the rest of my account. The money isn't the issue here. It '' s the fact that the customer service was utterly lacking and has an impact on my credit score. If I try to finance a car again, and it had to be with this company again. I'll just take an uber until I can pay the car off fully in cash. P.s I'm adding screenshots to show how I've been on time for 3 years. How this has affected my credit score. Proof that I paid the remaining amount off. I dont have my bank statements included because I'm not sure if you wish to dig thru 3 years of bank statements, but I will be happy to provide that if it comes down to it.
