The bank, Credit Acceptance corporation recoeve payment directly from our insurance company. We never received additionL bills after this. Now. Consumer Complaint: Credit Acceptance went to court in XX/XX/XXXX and won a default judgement against me for a loan that should have been covered by my insurance and GAP insurance. The vehicle was totaled in XX/XX/XXXX. When I had originally signed for the loan, I know I signed for GAP insurance and the vehicle was also sold to me with a recall on it. I had to wait over 2 weeks while the faulty timing chain was replaced. Credit Acceptance is still reporting to the credit agencies it is over 90 days late. They have no email for correspondence. They do not answer the phone when I try to call.

The Attorney General was involved in this issue and the circumstances involving this situation. They gave the vehicle to where it was located at and that was a garage. They know what they did. I don't owe them nothing. They are also are pertoary lenders and still under investigation of their practices.

I sent them a letter explaining what happened and they did nothing to correct the late payment history reporting ... this is absolute bullshit..i go out to serve our country during a pandemic and this company has the nerve to report all of those late payments and ruin my credit ... .my next step is a complaint to the state attorney general and even to speak to a consumer attorney if this is not corrected.

Consumer Complaint: I have a car loan with Credit Acceptance for a little over a year now. During the Pandemic I missed XXXX and XXXX 's payments because of the shut down. I did call them in XXXX to let them know but was told payment was still expected while others were able to add theirs to end of loan. It took me 3 months to receive my Pandemic Unemployment Benefits but luckily had them in time to make as payments. I also made a payment arrangement to pay an extra {$100.00} on top of my {$270.00} payment till caught up. I continued to pay the extra 100 for 6 months which more than covered the two payments i missed. However I have been dealing with them ruining my credit for the past 9 month 's! I have disputed this with credit bureaus 5x with it just coming back that the information is correct! I have made a complaint with the XXXX XXXX XXXX and called the company directly many times with no one listening to me till one day a women that happen to be answering the phones helping out but works in Upper Management. She told me they were not supposed to be reporting negetive information to credit reports if it had to do with Covid-19! I was then contacted by a woman named XXXX in the Compliance Dept. The first time we spoke I explained everything to her and she said she would conduct an investigation and report back to me which I excepted. XXXX reported back to me even more disturbing information! I apparently owed the company {$900.00} more before I was caught up! At first being in shock I couldn't speak. Then I asked her how do you figure that? I asked her where my extra {$100.00} a month for 6 months went because my payments are only {$270.00} and I missed two due to Pandemic! Then she proceeded to tell me they have no information for XXXX 's payment which consisted of 2 different payments each being a different amount as the company repo my car for no reason! I got the car back two hour after it was taken because I was already paying the payment that morning. I also had to pay them back for the repo. How does a company not have all the Information about a repo they had ordered and given back to the customer? Mind you I only have had the car for 2 months at this time put {$3500.00} down and hadn't missed a payment was just a bit late for XXXX because of the way I was being paid! I am a single mother and have spent this past year working my XXXX off to pay anything on my credit report as I have plans for 2 big purchases and I want a good credit score. Worked so hard for this company to ruin it in a single second reporting information that is incorrect by a long shot! Even after speaking to Compliance Dept I asked her to please fix my credit report information because they were ruining my credit score badly! I'll say she attempted but all she did was change some of it to no data to report! That's not fair I pay my payments on time every month except Pandemic which many of us had problems! After speaking to her again my report mysteriously got worse again! Says I haven't made a payment since XXXX, I've missed 6 payments, and the balance i owe I've paid 5 percent of in over a year! This is a disgrace and can truly impact a person 's life! I know many other people are experiencing this same issue with this company as I read all the complaints on their website! Someone had to do something and I'm done with them doing this to me! I have proof of every payment and when it was made! Also mind you this whole past year I have been in and out of the hospital very sick this just made things worse! I refuse to have to go another 2 or more years dealing with Credit Acceptance! My next step if this matter is not taken care of and done correctly I will be obtaining legal counsel to resolve it! Please Help!!

Consumer Complaint: SUBJECT : KILLING CONTRACT DUE TO UNPROFESSIONALISM OF SERVICES ; In the year XXXX, I bought a used XXXX SUV/Car XXXX XXXX XXXX from XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX Wisconsin, ( Biggest Mistake Ever Made to my Demise ), They use the load business called " Credit Acceptance '' which supposedly gives consumers or first time buyers with low credit a option to purchase a vehicle. The car was priced according to the salesman at XXXX by the time financing went through tax and license and all that gumbo, the total in all averaged out to XXXX at the payments of XXXX per month. I only fell back once in XXXX due to hardships in job changing, after all that I managed to build myself back and continue my payments to this company monthly. THE ISSUE OF TIME FRAMES : I XXXX XXXX XXXX for a living, you know those XXXX XXXX XXXX with XXXX XXXX, not your XXXX lil XXXX 's, this job is high demand and requires reliable XXXX to XXXX XXXX to customers, my daily work week is anywhere from 8 to 10 sometimes 12 hours of XXXX, back to back XXXX, i get one 30 minute break in-between XXXX which is to give me time to eat and rest before finishing out my other 8 hours or more XXXX time. By the end of the day it can be XXXX or XXXX XXXX depending on schedules when im to shut down by federal law for 10 hours before my time resets for XXXX XXXX. This takes up allot of my time to get personal things done physically, so most time when i can i try to get my financial dealings by phone done when i can, it's a XXXX of a way to spend your 30 minutes but a necessity to to the demands needed and the jobs to get done! I am not going to throw my job or customer to the curb for any measly little business on the side, certainly not this one or any other. CAR REPAIRS STARTED 2 MOS AFTER PURCHASE : Within 2 months of having this vehicle, I had to replace the alternator which i was charged for by the dealership which was supposed to be covered under warranty, XXXX 6 months later after that I had to buy a brand new battery because the car was dead.. which is covered for a year by the manufacturer, my company ordered the battery for me which is deducted out of my paycheck, however within 8 months I needed another battery because that one died. Now mind you, i am paying this loan joke XXXX every month on time as said in contract, however the car began giving me engine problems, not to forget the fact, when this car was bought it had a fuel hose throat problem, you couldn't fill the car like you would normally, which usually takes 15 minutes to fill up a car depending on pump speed which is usually pretty quick, it would take me 30 minutes because the fuel would begin to pump but cut off midstream, i had to wait 5 minutes each time before beginning to pump again. This is what the dealership sold me was a complete lemon of problems, then the heater coils i found out were bad, couldn't defrost the windows, no heat would come out, AC worked great that's it, so to get the coils fixed and the fuel issue fixed that ran me approx XXXX that was in XXXX, then the engine went, some valve or gasket blew, another XXXX approx, all out of pocket expense while still paying credit acceptance XXXX each month, XXXX rolls around, now i have a window button problem for the drivers side, and the air in one of the tires is leaking, dont know which one as well as some fuel cap warning coming up on the dash board. Back in shop it goes, another XXXX bucks out of pocket, except for the tire leakage. XXXX XXXX would of charged me a XXXX allot more using the excuse my warranty wouldn't cover these things, so i went to another recommended mechanic who even though was pricey but fair, they did the job right the first time! The only regret I had was the dealership never bothered to really check this used car before putting it on the lot to sell, they just bought it from another sales place and went with what ever info of ownership was on the paper work, the car isnt even worth XXXX period, these cars or suvs value when they were in manufacturing roughly under XXXX, XXXX / XXXX stopped making them due to the recalls of problems people had with them, various different issues. Now here comes battery number 3 just 1 month over the year warranty of the other 2 and i had too buy another new battery. By this time, According to Credit Acceptance, my balance from XXXX grand is now XXXX, XXXX pay off, but heres where it gets down right XXXX ... Each time i had to call these people for an adjustment over the phone from their reps they claimed are so highly trained properly ( cough ) i was met with ignorance, XXXX and XXXX behavior enough to get me to begin screaming at them as they wasted my time, I dont know how many times i have told this joke of a place, I dont have time to call you when you snap your fingers asking me to jump buildings at your demands, nor do i have to explain to you my personal routines so you can come up with ideas to XXXX me over cause you got a issue you dont make good money where you work, that's not my XXXX problem! They have a website where you can schedule a payment ahead of time which i have used many times because i cant call this payment in every XXXX day of each month, so i make arrangements for it to be scheduled for these dates or earlier, course this loan place will drag its feet collecting the funds tying me up to move forward to pay other bills. Well the killer of this was over the XXXX weekend ... I knew my schedules with work were going to be pushed as the holidays were rolling in so was high demands of getting XXXX and such XXXX, I was going to be too busy to be bothered making calls, and it being the holidays most places would be closed. I get paid every Thursday per week, I made an arrangement on their site to pay this time XXXX on the XXXX of XXXX, however our pay period let us know we would be getting paid a day early. So Since i was at a customer on XX/XX/XXXX, and had to make a fast call to CA asking them if they could cancel the XXXX schedule and use the XXXX schedule to make the payment as the banks would be closed etc, i was met with a XXXX lazy rep who had nerve to tell me, you can do this yourself online! Oh that did it! I hit the roof, again here i am explaining to another XXXX i dont have the time to change anything online, that is why i am calling, can you just cancel the XXXX scheduled XXXX and use it for the XXXX? how hard is it to grasp this? She said fine, or so i thought it was fine, I proceeded to make the XXXX payment, paid their XXXX merchant fees of paymentaus, and ended the call. 2 hours later i checked my bank and saw i had roughly XXXX around there left in balance after the car payment went through, so i took the opportunity to pay some other bills in advance to avoid late fees etc, and calculated it down to a T, leaving me enough to use while over XXXX XXXX til next payday. COVID 19 EXCUSES This pandemic i know has made it hard to many to work, some dont have any work others are forced to work from home, credit acceptance is one of those who have their reps work from home. I have heard the excuse due to this covid 19, people make mistakes, XXXX! Thats as lame as a student telling the teacher the dog ate their homework. Well here comes the XXXX, and i check my bank account, and to my horror i am now negative XXXX! I am like what the XXXX happened? The transactions didnt begin coming through til later that day around XXXX XXXX, thats when i noticed the first XXXX to Credit acceptance was pending long with others that were minor and i was puzzled, in the next hour more transactions pending began to appear, and bamn there it was, the rep didnt bother to cancel the XXXX payment and it too was pending i was hitting the roof, i went into my stock account immediately and liquidated all my stock trying to come up with the funds to transfer into my account to cover the negative before my bank would hit me with NFS fees of XXXX a pop, but found i couldn't transfer anything cause it was a newly bought stock and needed tme to accumulate, so this now put me in probation mode for 30 days meaning i couldn't touch anything for 3 months! Thats when i really hit the roof! XX/XX/XXXX, - my balance in my bank is now negative XXXX! so I called my bank and filed a dispute to have that loan company reverse the charges and then i called the loan place and chewed out another rep and told her, if that money isnt reversed within 24 hours im reporting this as theft! she told me i could of left the scheduled payment as is and the money would of been retrieved the next working business day, and i told her how in the XXXX am i to know that? and what makes you people think i can jump on a computer and cancel when XXXX XXXX an XXXX XXXX all day long? its time consuming and now you people have put me in a XXXX of a situation. I cant have this, since XXXX i have been haggled by you people trying to make adjustments i have tried to be pleasant only to end up screaming at you all because you ask all these XXXX questions like im in some XXXX deposition for court! I dont have time to be held up while you all sit on your butts doing nothing at home blaming covid 19 for your hangups! GET REAL! AS of TODAY XX/XX/XXXX, i am now negative XXXX! The repairs on this car shouldn't of had to happen, the cost of this car over its value was a sham, and now im dealing with amateurs who shouldn't be running this frat at all. I reported it to the Michigan XXXX where this company apparently is based out of, and told them I am killing the contract, i dont want the car,, i dont need to do business with XXXX, i will be contacting the creditor bureaus explaining the deflect of my decision cause i know just like with XXXX XXXX, these people are going to throw a coniption fit and spew allot of negative remarks on my credit report. Frankly i dont give a XXXX because i am just going to save up all i can and buy my next car BRAND NEW STRAIGHT OUT so i dont have to deal with loan sharks anymore. So if you CPFB feel this poor babies are being bullied by me in such a hateful manner after the sham they just pulled, how about i contact XXXX XXXX investigation report and have them air it online? Because the reviews i have read about this loan shark are not very good in fact they have done more damage then good for a person.

Consumer Complaint: I should have known better at the time but due to bad credit I couldnt get approved for vehicle financing anywhere else. I went into the situation being content with over paying for a XXXX car and expected high interest rates because of my credit situation. The dealer actually did a superb job of making Credit Acceptance sound like a decent opportunity, which should have been a red flag. You can pick any car you want! Approval wont be a problem ... Yes XX/XX/XXXX % interest is very high but just make on time payments for a 6 months and try to refinance through a credit union. Both the dealer and credit acceptance advertise and brag about how they help your credit by reporting to the credit bureaus, what they dont tell you is that if your FULL monthly payment isnt paid by the EXACTDUE date, they report you as 30 days late. Last year I put my account on auto pay bi-weekly to split the amount due in half each time I got paid because well ... 23 % interest makes for a pretty excessive monthly payment ... so every two weeks half of my monthly payment was auto paid to them ... .except some times that second payment fell outside of the exact due date but still well within a week or so. Now, this wouldnt be such a huge problem except for the lack of transparency within the customer portal ... where you can pay this company all your money but you cant see ANYTHING useful to your contract as in payment history, statements, no warnings, no advice. However, there is a nice message explaining PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS are not reflected in the portal which in my case includes bi-weekly auto pays. So, the portal ALWAYS said I was a month late..I called customer service out of concern back in probably XXXX or XXXX and was assured this was ok and just a bug in the portal that doesnt allow us customers to see our own financial information, and/or status. Fast forward to recent days. You do not have any idea how MAD I was and am, as someone who has been struggling and trying to fix my credit for YEARS to find out credit acceptance had been reporting me as past due almost every single month since I switched my payments to bi-weekly which was in XXXX of XXXX. Not once did I receive a letter, an email, a text or carrier pigeon advising me my account was past due. The worst part is SIX of those reported missed payments are for every month since XXXX, during this pandemic when ALL other banks and alike are trying to helping their customers. I tried to dispute the last 6 late marks to no avail but this company did not care at all about helping me nor did they consider the fact that Ive made numerous extra payments through out the contract, never took my account off auto pay and was NEVER 30+ late, and the real kicker being I was laid off in XXXX due to COVID. I did not ever ask to skip payments, I didnt ask for any special treatment etc. I kept paying. As of this AM I still owed XXXX dollars, which I decided to just pay off completely today, because I am so frustrated and defeated over this entire process. How is that for financial relief from a creditor for a customer unable to work because of this pandemic? Anyways, I requested my pay off quote, paid the amount on the document they sent me ... ..and now it says I owe XXXX .... in 341 days ... ... which did make me laugh a little but I am sure they will try to mark that as a late payment on my credit report as a final slap in the face. I did not get a confirmation email from Credit Acceptance, no messaging saying the account is paid, no receipt, no instructions on how I am going to get my title for my worthless car ... nothing. All I got out of my experience with them is a car that has cost me more to fix than what its worth, and an absolutely DESTROYED credit score because they were the only open loan on my report besides student loans. As a XXXX year old graduated from college I have been not only dreaming but STRIVING to put the pieces needed into place to purchase my own home and now because of this company I am being and will continue to be denied that opportunity because of my credit score that has been calculated based on what has been reported by this company alone. I am pretty sure I still wont even be approved to finance a new vehicle after this situation. Contrary to this rant I have gone off about, I am a laid back, whatever happens happens kind of person and I really make it a point not to dwell on things ; but the sheer destruction this company did by destroying my credit, combined with the the circumstances and timing of when it happened is inexcusable. Because of that, I am submitting this complaint along with a XX/XX/XXXX review. I dont expect this to rectify the damage that was done, I honestly dont even think the damage is repairable at this point but, maybe it will help someone else along the way who is considering financing through Credit Acceptance. They are a predatory lending company, who make money off of other peoples disadvantages by charging DRASTICALLY high interest rates, on used cars that cant even pass the required state inspection ( mine hasnt passed since XXXX, I bought the car in XXXX ... the only garage to give it a sticker was the dealership I bought from ) and most importantly the LACK of transparency, communication and access to my own financial information to avoid something as damaging as this is completely unacceptable.

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX 2018 I was financed through Credit Acceptance Corp of Michigan. I was low income and had a very low credit score. I'm not even sure how I managed to get the loan. Not even 3 months into the car loan I lost my job and couldn't pay the car insurance on the car. I lost my job because I was jailed for fighting and it cost me my job. I couldn't pay the insurance and the car was then stolen and totalled in a high speed chase with police. The car was flipped and it was a total loss. I sent credit acceptance the police report but they did not bother to care. They charged me 22.99 % interest on the loan and the state of Louisiana only allows up to 12 maybe 14 %. They took advantage of me me knowing I was low income and would be so excited about just getting a car. I paid {$3500.00} down payment for the car and the total amount was still {$12000.00} after the down payment which now I know is insane. They charged me for extra insurance that I knew nothing about that would have been voluntary. NOw that the car is totaled they are crushing my XXXX XXXX and continuing to add more and more to the loan which is now at over {$16000.00} and counting. I've tried to dispute it over and over again and they won't make any changes. The criminals who stole the car still have not went to trial. I now owe a tow company thousands and XXXX for a wifi box that was in the car. The loss of my job cost me my home as well so I had the car packed down with personal items that were a total loss because of the theft. Credit Acceptance knowingly ripped me off with the contract. They knew I was low income and they could take advantage of me and they are still taking advantage of me 2 years later with my credit report and the amount owed. The car was stolen and totaled in a chase with police and the criminal has still not went to trial. I am paying the ultimate price for others taking advantage of me. I do not know what to do. I can not afford an attorney and I called legal aid and they don't have any openings for me to even tell them about my story until XXXX. Credit Acceptance has wronged me and I know they did thousands of others because I read about the cases and they still have many other suits in action. I'm asking that someone please help me and stop these people from taking advantage of others. I am still walking because my credit score is trashed. I am a single mother and low income. This is insane.

Consumer Complaint: Credit Acceptance- The vehicle was purchased in late XXXX for {$9000.00}, to accommodate my XXXX / XXXX needs at that time. Within a 6-month period I experienced multiple electrical malfunctions which were reported to the dealership. Company refused to repair any damages and malfunctions ; these issues resulted in a fire starting under the dashboard. At that time, I chose to tow the vehicle back to the dealership which resulted in a Voluntary Repossession In XXXX, I reached out to Credit Acceptance was redirected to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX - a statement agreement {$6900.00} was made nut not yet collected on my credit reports
