Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/21 the balance was paid in full for {$9800.00}. The finance company refuses to update my payment in full and the account I showing as open when it should be closed and paid in full. Why is that if I miss a payment, these companies will report. But as soon as you pay your balance off in full, they fail to report it on time. And this is causing my DTI to seem high when its not if they would just update the account status.

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX Loan in the stated amount of {$16000.00} to purchase a XXXX XXXX XXXX funded via Credit Acceptance , Inc. was accepted by me at the Vehicle dealership. After weeks of communications with XXXX XXXX in XXXX Ohio I purchased a vehicle, a XXXX XXXX. The salesman, XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX after several hours sitting there finally found a lender for the purchase. It was nearing closing time when he came back and told me that the lender, he found was willing to do the loan for XXXX XXXX for the vehicle. The vehicle asking price was XXXX. So, I agreed and moved forward with the purchase agreement. After signing 2 or 3 papers directly for the purchase the financial person stated that he would do the rest of the paperwork online and give me a copy. Since it was dark and raining heavily and that XXXX had picked me up at my home I had agreed and did not take the time to read all the documents. I had an hours drive back to Pennsylvania. On XX/XX/XXXX I received my notice for payment due on XX/XX/XXXX. After I sent payment, I received several more notices. The next documents received via U.S. mail noted that the loan for this vehicle was for {$29000.00}. I called Credit Acceptance about this, thinking that there was some mistake especially since the papers that I signed noted that the loan amount was for {$15000.00}, or XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX shortly after notifying XXXX that there was a problem with the exhaust on the vehicle, I could smell it upon startup of the vehicle when cold. The vehicle burned up on the highway after someone notified me that the vehicle was on fire while I was driving at about 65mph. The insurance, XXXX sent a payoff notice for the loan. Then I received a statement this month, XX/XX/XXXX for a balance due in the amount of {$14000.00} due on XX/XX/XXXX. I need help with this. According to the insurance company the loan was paid

Consumer Complaint: I XXXX XXXX the federal protected consumer entered a consumer credit transaction with credit acceptance for a vehicle that had a gas leak I had the vehicle for only 30 days with a voluntary repossession. The car was like an XXXX or XXXX and the credit transaction was worth about {$10000.00} and no finance charge listed at all. They didn't give notification that the alleged debt and they were trying to collect. I used my social security card in this consumer credit transaction used for household and personal use. Credit acceptance has violated me as a consumer in the corporation and needs to held legally accountable for their deceptive actions as a debt collector they are. I am requesting the agency to work with me the consumer under the guidelines Fair Debt Collections Practices Act and amendments to the Truth in Lending Act or else I will pursue federal litigation if needing re enforcements on the facts of the federal law.

Consumer Complaint: Today was my second call within the year to XXXX XXXX XXXX to try to answer some questions and resolve an all-around horrible lending practice from the start. Starting 2013 when I proudly walked into the dealership with {$2000.00} down for $ XXXX vehicle. I was ready to be back on my toes and thought there was no way this couldn't be affordable for me. The " trusted '' sales associate states " Credit Acceptance will not finance without with service warranty & GAP ''. My father warned/said don't buy it but I caved because I wanted to be proud as a XXXX mother of XXXX. Now nothing is how I had planned walking into that situation. Gas prices jump, I drive 70 miles round trip for work, I'm stuck with a vehicle I can't afford that I should have been able to. Shame on me for trusting my friends step-dad ( XXXX ). My insurance lapsed because I can't afford it. I get in a horrible accident, I borrow money from 401k to fix it but I'm still sinking. I finally let it go, I don't defend my judgement bc once again, I believe it will be fair. Only to find out, I was taken for every red cent. Salt in the wound. Years later only to find out that I was misled/lied to from the jump, I didn't have to pay for those things & maybe I wouldn't have sank. I've called XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX twice. Initially, to see how I can end this haunting experience & move on with my life. The worst part is I'm now third company in ( XXXX, Credit Acceptance, XXXX XXXX XXXX ) and the deceit hasn't stopped. First time calling I would reference the payments made ( garnishments ) and she continued to taunt me stating I didn't make those payments and they were taken under garnishment, refusing to acknowledge that regardless they were total payments. I requested settlement offers, she said I had to give an offer while refusing to acknowledge the garnishments as payments from me. Today I was requesting detail on how a credit was established in my " Explanation of Deficiency '' and was given a big run around. " I'm sorry, I wouldn't know what you were referring to ''. " Remember, we are a law office, we wouldn't have that information ''. " Sounds like something Credit Acceptance sent you ''. When asked if she could get access her response " I could probably try to find it ''. Playing a if the LAW office who presented the judgement to the courts would not have this on file? Deceit. She ended with " So you want validation? '' I said " No, I want clarification ''. It took be 34 years to fully understand my rights. I'm not thrilled that lies & deceit are still being practiced in the debt collection offices. Both times my requests were ignored and tried to construe the requests and make me agreeable to less than I was asking for. Please rectify. I put my life on hold and buying a house because of this mess. Started by one person, to a company who would allow such horrible borrowing practices, to a LAW firm who doesn't care why so many people failed with this type of lending/ company and supports their decision to sue for all {$8000.00} interest on {$10000.00} car and still charges me $ XXXX/day that it's unpaid. Also prior to court hearing, I informed XXXX XXXX XXXX to contact my bankruptcy lawyer going forward, to which my understanding they did not, and continued with the judgement request unbeknownst to him.
