Subissue: Loan balance remaining after the vehicle is repossessed and sold
Consumer Complaint: Credit acceptance finance company repossessed my vehicle for unpaid balance. I informed them that I paid the balance by using the coupon method and sending copies of a 1099a form along with other documents to the IRS and to credit acceptance to discharge the debt. Repossessing somebody vehicle is against the law and it goes against the fdcpa and 15 usc1692f unfair practices.

Subissue: Confusing or misleading advertising or marketing
Consumer Complaint: I attached when the loan was at current this has been such a struggle. I have reached out to Credit Acceptance multiple times once because I had an XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. Then we received custody of our XXXX grandchildren unexpectedly and Covid blah blah blah. They basically gave me no choice regarding payments that I did admittedly miss a few and have been charging 22.9 % interest rate The entire time. In my opinion, this is astronomical they have not been willing to help instead, tell me that theyre going to repossess my vehicle.

Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Investigation took more than 30 days
Consumer Complaint: Credit Acceptance is reporting an inaccurate account on my credit reports that I have been disputing with the credit bureaus. Credit acceptance is reporting a monthly payment of {$0.00} but this account has consecutive late payments reporting for over a year. How are these late payments accurate if there is no monthly payment due? They are also reporting multiple inconsistencies between each bureau such as different balances owed, last payment dates, open dates and last active dates. It is their responsibility as a consumer reporting agency to report 100 % accurate information and they have failed to do so. They have violated the FCRA and my rights as a consumer to dispute any inaccurate information on my reports and to have valid accurate reporting accounts. This inaccurate account has caused me a lot of distress as I am not able to get approved and have low credit scores due to their negligence. I am demanding that this account is deleted from my reports now!
