Consumer Complaint: I learned that there was a new collection account on all three of my credit reports from Convergent Outsourcing with an open date of XX/XX/XXXX, amount of {$910.00}. The original creditor was XXXX XXXX. This can not be mine as XXXX XXXX does not service my local area in Illinois. I have never received any type of communication from either XXXX XXXX nor Convergent before this was added to my credit report, which violates Federal Laws, and still have not received any communication from them to this date. Also, I have had other collection agencies try to collect a very similar debt in the past which has always been deleted from my credit reports. If this is the same debt, Convergent has violated the Fair Debt Collection ( FDCPA ) and FRCA laws as this is Debt Parking. Because of this, I was unable to obtain a mortgage in XXXX of XXXX, that I put an offer on. I am very upset about this.

Issue: Incorrect information on your report
Subissue: Account status incorrect
Consumer Complaint: I am writing to file a complaint about the collection and reporting practices of XXXX XXXX. In XX/XX/XXXX my husband and I lost our home to foreclosure and moved into an extended stay hotel, and have been living here ever since. ( Not by choice but because of foreclosure ) We did not immediately have our mail forwarded so I dont know if we received a final bill or not, but a collection from XXXX showed up on my credit report shortly afterwards. For a brief period of time they reported it, but then it was removed. XXXX year ago in XXXX, I had finally reached the point that we could apply for an apartment, but when I did we were denied. The reason was a new collection. The new collection was a collection by XXXX, but the dates had been changed to show it as a recent delinquency. When I called the XXXX billing department the man admitted to me that he had pulled back the first collection and re-submitted it with a new company. He told me if I didnt like it I could just pay my bill. Then I went into the office and asked for information to prove the debt and they told me they didnt have anything to show me because there was no information in the computer. So I disputed it with the credit bureau and after several attempts I was able to have the re-aged collection removed from my report. But it took a year to return to my previous score. Now a year later in XX/XX/XXXX my credit score had gone up enough that I was pre-approved for a mortgage, but before the process was completed a new collection, from a new collection agency for XXXX XXXX, for the third time has appeared on my report again. It is not a collection that shows the status date XXXX, instead it says it was incurred a month ago. And it is glaringly showing up as a new collection again, my XXXX score has dropped, and I now have to wait to buy a home or rent a house.

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt is not yours
Consumer Complaint: I have been in contact with Convergent Outsourcing several times regarding an account XXXX XXXX XXXX submitted to them with my son 's information but my social. I have sent all asked for documentation proving that this is not my account I never lived at the service address and my XXXX XXXX XXXX account number is different from his. I sent evidence that my account was in good standing. I sent a credit report and a lease agreement etc. I call and they say that you are still waiting to hear back from XXXX XXXX XXXX well it's been almost three months and I am getting the same story from them doing nothing but still reporting this inaccurate information to the credit bureaus. Also, note they have not called me or currently trying to collect on this debt they just keep reporting this in accurate information. THIS IS NOT MY ACCOUNT. I gave you my son 's information which you did not have I have been completely transparent and accommodating but that stops today because I have been getting the run around. Convergent Outsourcing is knowingly reporting false information.

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt was result of identity theft
Consumer Complaint: This account was opened fraudulently. I have submitted all documentation notarized, Including identity theft report, police reports, and dispute packet from this agency. I don't understand how can you prove an account belongs to me that I never opened. As a result this is my attempt to have this debt remove before I pursue legal action. This is clear violation of the law. I have all documentation and correspondences between me and this creditor. I also have documentation for third parties where I have receive several letters that my information was included in several data breaches.

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt was paid
Consumer Complaint: I am appalled of the fraudulent practices of Convergent Outsourcing , Inc . They are deceptively attempting to bill me for a bill that was paid. Even with evidence of such, they have overlooked and disregarded the facts and still attempting to collect. 1. As evidenced in attachment A, Convergent is attempting to collect a debt for XXXX XXXX. I have no account balances with XXXX XXXX. 2. As evidenced in attachment B, I switched to another provider from XXXX XXXX. After I terminated their services, was told that any additional fees would be waived due to my poor experiences with them, and all equipment was returned, I receive this XXXX XXXX. Even though I disagreed with the subsequent billing, I felt it was nominal in comparison to just getting rid of XXXX XXXX. This amount was paid to XXXX and I have proof/confirmation that the bill was paid. 3. As evidenced in attachment C., even XXXX has documented my account is paid in full and have record of the XXXX being paid. Convergent, even after my filing an appeal and receiving evidence that the bill/account was paid in full directly to XXXX XXXX , continues to contact me and denied my claim stating the debt is valid ( attachment D ). Their bullying tactics and attempts to gouge me, and damage my stellar credit, is disturbing. If I was less intelligent and unaware of my rights, I would just pay the money twice. This is Convergents hope - that I will just pay the money TWICE and I have no doubts, if they are investigated, I am not the only one theyve attempted to bully into paying double.

Issue: False statements or representation
Subissue: Attempted to collect wrong amount
Consumer Complaint: I received a bill from XXXX this month for balances due, this is the third bill I received since I cancelled service. Our request to end our nearly 20 year relationship was made in the last week of XXXX ( don't have exact date ) after trying for 6 months to have them fix coverage in our area. Their maps claim 5G coverage, there is NONE. I have an open FCC complaint about that false advertising, but in XXXX moved on to another provider. The first bill I paid ( it was for our normal monthly amount ), I figured it was paid in arrears ( for entire relationship I have had paid online when I'd gotten the texts each month for balance due ... never making a late payment ). Then a few weeks later, I got another bill, same amount as before but it had a 'sorry to see you go ', so I figured okay maybe I partly into another cycle and they are making me pay a full month, but .... shame on me for not knowing the contract fine print... and I paid that bill. SO, two months of payments and we're two months past end of service. Late XXXX, I get another bill, now another monthly due ( went up {$.00} ) and a balance for a " XXXX Non Return Fee ''. No prior bill, correspondance, nor conversation with XXXX representatives had covered the necessity to return this device. I called in this week to investigate and was told because I didn't return it in time I had to pay for this device ... ... .... Let me rewind. In late XXXX, I lived in XXXX and had just moved ( about two miles down the road from my other XXXX home ), when we moved in, we went from awesome coverage to none. I spend about a month on calls with XXXX have engineers look at issues. In the end they sent me this device ( FREE of Charge because I was a valued customer ) with no disclosures, or contracts signed to help with my signal issue. Phones worked great from then on in that XXXX house. Return to XXXX, we relocate to XXXX and started having cell connection issues ( documented in first paragraph ). This last XXXX with spotty or no coverage for over six months, we left XXXX for another provider that had reliable service. On my call today ( XX/XX/XXXX ) ( 1 ) I was told that because my account was closed over 60 days ago that I could not return the device and had to pay the fee, they ( 2 ) also would not discuss the recent bill ( this would be the 3rd monthly payment since I ended my relationship ) because I couldn't provide a PIN verification. I have never used the PIN, it was probably setup 15+ years ago at account creation and they claim I can not be verified by any other manner to discuss my account in detail .... Of course they can keep repeating to me that I have to pay the full amount and there is NOTHING I can do. I asked to speak to a supervisor, was put on hold multiple times. Finally told the supervisor was experiencing some technical issues but would call me back in 5-20 minutes. That was over 3 hours ago now and I need help. Item 1 ( the device ) : I want to give it back, I do not want to pay for this device I was sent over 3 years ago that is of no use to me. Item 2 ( the monthly bills ) : I want to understand how I can get 3 different monthly bills since account termination, 2 of those have been paid. I know hve gotten mail from Convergent Outsourcing and XXXX will not talk with me regarding this equipment I DID NOT ORDER and that no contract was signed and that I WANT TO RETURN.
