I paid this amount on XX/XX/2020..confirmation # XXXX ... the account updated on my credit and now shows a balance of one thousand and some dollars ... .I paid the settlement amount in full and when I call the customer service number it says o have XXXX balance please help and remove this account

Consumer Complaint: I recently submitted correspondence to all three credit bureaus regarding my identity being compromised with identity stolen an as a result multiple accounts, addresses, and inaccurate bankruptcy have been opened or established in my name without prior consent or knowledge. I completed affidavit report # XXXX through the Federal Trade Commission which is considered a legal document Since XXXX, XXXX, OR XXXX HAS NOT RESPONDED WITH ANY CORRESPONDCE PROVIDING ACCURATE VERIFICATION OBLIGATING ME TO THESE FRAUDULENT ACCOUNTS THAT WERE OPENED FROM IDENTITY THEFT. IN ADDITON SEVERAL OF THE COLLECTORS ACTING ON BEHALF OF THESE FRAUDULENT ACCOUNTS HAVE NEVER EVEN SENT ANY INTIAL 5 DAY NOTICE OF OBTAINING A THE FRAUDULENT DEBT THAT THEY CLAIM I OWE VIOLATING THE FAIR DEBT COLLECTION PRACTICE ACT ALSO ATTEMPTING TO COLLECT ON A FRAUDUELNT ACCOUNT AFTER BEING NOTIFIED BY A CONSUMER REPORTING AGENCY ( XXXX XXXX, XXXX, JEFFERSON CAPITAL, XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, AND XXXX XXXX ARE ALL IN VIOLATION. XXXX, XXXX, & XXXX FAILED TO BLOCK FRAUD RELATED ACCOUNTS WITHIN 4 DAYS OF BEING NOTIFED BY A CONSMER AND HAS FAILED TO PROVIDE ANY VERIFICATION PERIOD AND IS A VIOLATION OF THE FAIR CREDIT REPORTING ACT SECTION 605B NOT TO MENTION A DELIBERATE REFUSAL TO REMOVE MY FRAUDULENT ADDRESSES THAT WAS REQUESTED ON MY INITIAL REQUEST. I DONT WANT TO HEAR AN EXCUSE SAYING YOU WILL CONTACT THE DATA FURNISHER FOR VERIFICATION. Consumer Complaint: I was notified by a relative that they were contacted by Jefferson Capital. When they answered, it was a robocall and said " This is a debt collector and looking for XXXX XXXX " Also, I have been receiving calls from them impersonating a different elderly relative. I believe they are scamming and phishing. On the callerid it shows a relative name and when you call back. It is a robocall that says, " This is a debt collector. '' They have been calling daily and repeatedly. I have the right to be treated by a collection agency with dignity and respect. The collection agency has engaged in the following practices, which violate the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act : Repeat calls as harassment Illegally Inform a Third Party About Your Alleged Debts repeatedly calling relatives, family and friends Collectors are not allowed to inform anyone about your debts Within five days of the collector 's initial communication, it must send you a notice include the amount of the debt, name of the creditor, and notice of your right to dispute the debts within 30 days. I am willing to forgo the legal remedies I may have, including a lawsuit in small claims court seeking punitive damages against you and the agency, in exchange for your written promise to permanently cease all efforts to collect this debt and remove all negative entries regarding this debt from my credit file. I expect to hear from you immediately. Pursuant to my rights under federal debt collection laws, please cease all collection activities you have taken or are considering taking. Also, had multiple hospitalizations in the past year, so must avoid stress. I am retired and on low income. This includes high-pressure collection activity and lawsuits. I am requesting that you cease and desist communication with me, as well as my family and friends, concerning this and all other alleged debts you claim I owe.

Consumer Complaint: A couple of years ago, a debt collection showed up on my credit report. All I know is that it is for XXXX XXXX in am amount of {$860.00}. I know that I have never run up a bill of that size with a utility Company. My belief is that I was a renter, moved and somehow the service was ever taken out of my name after I left the property and someone else continued service in my name. I have asked repeatedly, XXXX XXXX XXXX, the debt collector, to get me proof of the dates that this debt was run up during and also the address that it was at. I would be able to verify whether or not I was living at the address at all or will be able to verify what dates i lived there. Over a period of 2 years, no one is responding with ANY type of verification that this debt was incurred while I actually lived somewhere. XXXX can not help me as I don't know what address and dates this b ill is supposedly for. I want this off of my credit reports. Thank you

Consumer Complaint: A XXXX XXXX employee told me that I was no longer under contract at the time I switched my account to XXXX XXXX XXXX. The month after I got 3 - {$200.00} charges for early termination. I attempted to argue the fact that the employee told me I was no longer under contract because I had reached my initial 2 years, per the contract details, but XXXX stated they had no record of the conversation. I have disputed these charges repeatedly, but I don't have a record of documentation, only phone conversations that XXXX claims don't exist. I had a reference number for that conversation, but they said in was invalid. I don't understand how they are able to get away with lying to their customers and ruining their credit record. My account has now been turned over to Jefferson Capital Systems and I explained to them that I am refusing to pay this balance because I never should have been charged those fees.
