Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt was paid
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2020 I filed a complaint with CFPB, due to Jefferson Capital Systems ( " JCS '' ) trying to collect a debt not owed. After 3 notices of dispute, and during 4 months after disputing the unrecognized debt " JCS '' never provided proper validation, and never provided any evidence to prove, any binding liability, after never providing any proper validation as FTC Attorney XXXX describes in his opinion " JCS '' was obligated to remove the account from my credit report not later, than 30 days according to the FCRA and FDCPA, and keeps violating the law by not removing the account reported as XXXX XXXX, that " JCS '' clearly claims ownership, and to be the Current Creditor, as he has been doing for the last year. In addition to that " JCS '', from the moment the consumer notified formally the dispute of the account had to place a note on the account about the dispute no later than 30 days as per the two Acts referred above mandate. The evidence provided shows 4 months showing no dispute. Jefferson Capital Systems has continuously been violating the FCRA, and the FDCPA. Attached you will find the detail, and evidence, to prove the multiple times that JCS violated the law, and keeps violating the law.

Consumer Complaint: My name is XXXX XXXX and I am writing regarding an invalid debt. I have asked for an itemize statement with what services and or items billed for this bill, when did these services began/end, I asked for copy of the original signed contract, a copy of the photo ID, a copy of the social security number required to open this account. I have asked for these items because, it is a requirement to provide these items in order to open an account. This is not my debt. If this debt was true and honest this information will be available. However, I have not ever applied, signed or agreed to any services or product. This company is reporting false information and can not produce the documents to ensure that this is a valid and true debt. XX/XX/2016 {$2700.00}
