Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2020, I received a phone call from Jefferson Capital representative named XXXX regarding an attempt to collect on an alleged debt for an account they have labeled as XXXX. I indicated while in the call that this debt is not mine and that I need validation to provide me with evidence that I am the intended party. XXXX indicated that Jefferson Capital had evidence that I am the intended party such as my signature and would reply to my request. However, a week letter I received a letter from Jefferson Capital for a settlement offer instead of debt validation. This misrepresentation from Jefferson Capital is a direct violation of my rights under the Fair Credit Act, in which I am entitled to the documentation of debt responsibility when requested either verbally or via correspondence. Jefferson Capital has verified that this account XXXX is in fact mine to all three Credit Bureaus and to date have not provided me with the evidence that they have submitted to the credit bureaus when I made the request.

Consumer Complaint: Either the day before or on XX/XX/XXXX I was scared and tailgated by a XXXX man with XXXX hair all black sunglasses viciously tailgating me in my hometown. He had out of state Colorado License plates. That same day a collection suit was filed against me by a Jefferson Capitol Company. The Lawyer lives in Colorado. He did not put HIS OFFICE number on Court Documents. I filed an Answer to the suit. It is from a different company over 2 years old and they charged off the debt. I had paid them regularly on time for a long time. Getting a hold of this Attorney from Jefferson Capital was nearly impossible. They fought/argued/were mean at the XXXX # he gave the Court as his #. They told me they would not let me talk to him. Demanded a ton of private personal information including my ENTIRE SS #. I finally did talk to the Colorado Lawyer who is suing me for a Minnesota Company-he did not care that I am XXXX and have no income. I have to do a Hearing and have been terrified all Summer. He Picked the Exact Day that I usually get my check on. Plus the EXACT MORNING HEARING TIME that I go outside to walk my XXXX dog. I can hardly walk early mornings due to my XXXX. I believe he has stalked me and knows that. I asked XXXX XXXX of Nebraska for help they are ZERO help. This has scared me ALL Summer long. I pay my bills on time. This was an instance where they jacked up the payments to $ XXXXplus a month and I tried to offer {$35.00} and they wouldn't take it. I feel this Lawyer who apparently does have a phone number was DECEPTIVE because it was never given on ANY COURT DOCUMENTS EVER. The Credit card charged off the debt already. He bought it. He is trying to get money from me that I do not owe Him. He had me Served on a Sunday. A Religious Day. ALL his Court documents " PRAY TO THE COURT FOR JUDGMENT AGAINST ME. '' Lawyer " PRAYS '' Against ME, I am a XXXX. This has been personal and terrifying.
