Consumer Complaint: This complaint involves a Bank known as XXXX XXXX. They were the original servicer of the account for my BJ 's Perks card. I noticed 3 fraudulent charges on my statement of XX/XX/XXXX. These were purchases on my account I did not make. I made XXXX XXXX aware of this and filed a fraud complaint with them. At this point I was not aware they were in the process of being bought out by Capital ONE. They clamed they would investigate. I continiued to make on time payments for ALL legitimate charges to my account with XXXX. XXXX, after a period, I received a letter from XXXX XX/XX/XXXX that read " we can find no basis to support your claim ''. Now I start to see late fees and interest charges based on the fraudulent charges they don't recognize. They continue to assess those fees despite my asking for a full disclosure of there findings. On the statement for XXXX of XXXX I noticed 2 more fraud charges and made XXXX XXXX aware of these additional charges. They did not respond. Instead I continued to be charged late and interest fees, this despite my paying legitimate charges ahead of time. Then their next statement indicated I owed over {$600.00} dollars. This figure did not even make sense since upon I tallying all their late fees and interest charges it was {$370.00}. In the mean time I was sent a new credit card from them on XX/XX/XXXX. I thought they are finally admitting that all those charges I complained about were indeed fraudulent Yet, they continued to assess late fees and interest fees. On XX/XX/XXXX I received a new Credit card with a New LOGO from Capital One with a letter bringing me up to speed as to there takeover of he BJ 's account. They proceeded to continue assessing fees. It was as though they were not aware of my dispute with XXXX. I sent them notice that I would not pay any of their billing and Not activate their new card or make any new transaction with BJs or any other retailer until such time my dispute was resolved to my satisfaction.

Consumer Complaint: I disputed a transaction for a service that I never received for {$2400.00}. On top of this charge, the dog training company charged us a {$370.00} cancellation fee even though the cancellation was out of our hands. These charges were posted on XX/XX/22. Although I spoke to multiple employees, I received a letter in the email saying that the dispute was unsuccessful because the trainer put that we were going to use her services in the future and wanted to reschedule. After continuously trying to reschedule and not being able to get in contact with the trainer, I reached back out to see why the dispute was denied. I was told to send more information in explaining what happened and to write a letter saying that I never received the services. 2 different people told me this. I then received notification that the employees were incorrect and the matter couldn't be reopened.

Consumer Complaint: I had XXXX credit cards with Capital One. I used my business account to make a payment though their portal multiple times. They suspended my account and demanded that I submit a bank statement showing the withdraw on the statement. The business account is with XXXX, I went to my banker and got a Letter of ownership that was signed by my banker showing that I was the owner of the account, when I opened the account. Capital one closed both of my credit cards causing my credit score to be impacted by their action! I also lost my reward balance of ~ {$250.00}

It is only luck and the quality of our federal postal service that I have received any mail from Capital One. There is no XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX CO. In fact there is no XXXX zip code anywhere in Colorado. Check with the post office. There is me at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX XXXX, IA XXXX. Can you please force Capital One to correct the city and state part of my address? Capital One customer service is so bad it should be illegal. They say they will fix it if I supply them my cellphone number. I do not own a cellphone. Capital One practices blatant discrimination against people who can not afford a cellphone and modern technology, namely the XXXX ( which I am ) and minorities. Thank you.

Consumer Complaint: I have been a loyal customer of Capital One for several decades. I have a stellar credit rating and over the years have maintained 2 separate credit card accounts with them : one for the business I own, and another for my personal use. When I went online to pay my bill a week ago, I noticed I had been charged a {$25.00} penalty and a finance charge due to an alleged late payment. I checked my payment records and saw that I had indeed paid my bill on time, so I called customer service to alert them to this error and get these fines reversed. The customer service rep I spoke to looked at the record of payment and at first, was unable to understand why the charges had been levied against me. She eventually came to the conclusion that my payment had been made at XXXX XXXX that evening, and there was an XXXX XXXX cutoff. I asked her where this information was displayed online, as this is how I routinely make my payments and I did not recall seeing this stipulation. She admitted that the cutoff time was NOT displayed anywhere on the company website, but insisted that the fines could not be removed nonetheless, due to new company policy. I asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor was rude both in demeanor, language and temperament, the exact antithesis of how a customer service rep should be. She insisted that in spite of there being no documentation online about the cutoff time, my payment was considered late, and she was not willing to make any allowances for the situation. She said that the cutoff time may or may not be listed on a hard paper copy of the bill. I reminded her that Capital One has hounded their customers to opt out of receiving a paper copy and use the online options instead. As such, it is Capital One 's responsibility to make sure they clearly post such restrictions online next to the due date, so their clients can see it. I took screenshots of the online payment options, and can confirm that nowhere online is a cutoff time mentioned. To add insult to injury, Capital One will now continue to penalize me with fines for the next 2 months, as is their custom. This is precisely the kind of shady practice that President Biden has been aiming to eliminate, as per his recent speech about large corporations and banking institutions taking unfair advantage of their clients. I am sure that I am not the only person this is happening to, so in addition to reducing and ultimately eliminating my activity on all my Capital One accounts, I will be getting the word out on social media and local news broadcasts about this fraudulent activity and look into starting a class action suit against Capital One. Capital One could easily have avoided the onslaught of negative press simply by showing some respect for their customers, removing these charges as a courtesy, and then making sure they amend their websites to reflect their cutoff policy. Shame on Capital One. Their public rating is already extremely low. No company is too large to fail and hopefully, this one may become the poster child for proving this.

Consumer Complaint: I had spoken to Capital One multiple times before the beginning of 2022 informing them that I was struggling to make payments due to loss of employment and lack of financial income. At the time, my fiance was using the card ending in XXXX to pay for school and her own bills. She could not afford to make payments and due to my loss of income and employment, neither could I. Unfortunately, this account went late and eventually went to charge off status. I have sense paid this account and would like to ask that the lates be removed so that I can try and get my son and I a home.
