Subissue: Account status incorrect
Consumer Complaint: I am writing to dispute and request an investigation into the inaccurate information reported by Capital One on my credit reports. The accounts in question, held with Capital One, have been paid in full, and the continued presence of these accounts on my credit reports is having a significantly negative impact on my creditworthiness. The payments were made in accordance with the agreed-upon terms, and the accounts were subsequently closed in good standing. It has come to my attention that the inaccurate reporting by Capital One has resulted in a lower credit score, affecting my ability to secure favorable interest rates and obtain credit for various financial endeavors. I believe this reporting is in violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) as it inaccurately reflects my creditworthiness.

Issue: Problem when making payments
Subissue: Problem during payment process
Consumer Complaint: In XXXX my credit card bill was due I set a payment amount for {$200.00} in which the money was in my account. After the payment declined I called the company and they told me that my credit card was closed due to payment denial. This is a false statement. I attempted to make a payment and the funds were in my account. I followed up with submitted another payment of {$150.00}. I called customer service to ensure that my account can be reopen due to the money being in my account with no pending transaction waiting. The company said no they will not reopen the account. After doing research I seen that Capital one is being sued by Walmart due to allegedly failing to meet customer service standards. Capital one is not meeting my standards as a customer who attempted to clear there debt and being declined.

Consumer Complaint: For the multiple times, I am disputing the same account that was reporting inaccurate information on my credit report and it really ruining my overall score! How many times should I informed you that I dont have missed payment on this account? I was the victim and Im not sure why the CRA is not complying with the law. The other bureaus have followed suit. Im very confused why this one seems to ignore my requests. It is evident that there may have been a system error or failure to update the information accurately. I request a thorough investigation into the matter to determine the cause of this discrepancy. CAPITAL ONE XXXX Those payments were made on time. I am requesting that the late payment markings be updated to reflect my accurate payment history. I had reviewed my credit report on the month of XXXX and this account was reporting in good standing. And when I reviewed my credit report on the month of XXXX, this account was reporting with late payment which I disputed right away and I am determined that I am checking right after my payments. And I wonder as the months goes by as I received my credit report, the account was reporting inaccurately miserable. I can sure that there was a system error or lapses in your investigation that this account keeps on reporting inaccurately.

Consumer Complaint: This complaint regards my Capital One Credit Card. I scheduled my payment on the day it was due using the Capital One Website. The payment is pulled from my checking account which is linked to the card. 4 days before the payment is due, and weeks after I have scheduled the payment, they send me a message telling me that my Capital One payment is due soon. But I already schedule the payment. I have to log on and confirm the payment is scheduled. I believe they are sending out these emails in hopes that some customers will double pay them.

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX of 2023 I contacted Capitol One to check if there was a credit card opened in my name after I received a card in the mail with my name on it. Capitol One informed me that I was {$1400.00} in debt for a {$1300.00} credit card. I informed Capitol One that it was fraud & to close the card. I then sought legal counsel and was instructed to have Capitol One file a dispute and open an investigation because I did not authorize the account to be opened and never agreed in any form to be responsible for the card. I successfully faxed over an 'Identity Fraud Information Form ' in XX/XX/2023 which Capitol One states was illegible but never informed me of the document 's illegibility until XX/XX/2023 after Capitol One informed in XXXX of 2023 that I would be held responsible the credit card account. I asked Capitol One to send me the affidavit/agreement that was signed showing that I authorized the account or agreed to be responsible. Capitol One agreed to send me information within 30 days but later denied to send me the info.
