Issue: Fees or interest
Subissue: Problem with fees
Consumer Complaint: I contacted Captial One Customer service today and they refused to credit my past due fee of {$25.00}. I also talked to a supervisor, XXXX, who refused to credit it back also. They said " the system wont allow me to ''. So I asked to get me to Executive Offices and someone that can reverse it and they refused. These exorbitant fees that you charge are ridiculous, especially on a secured card where some of the money is mine and not yours! Issues happen and will happen to your consumers. Helping them keep their money on their card without charging these fees should be a priority. You dont have to charge past due fees either - its a choice. Ive been on time except recently and would appreciate my money return to me and the {$25.00} credited

Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Deposits and withdrawals
Consumer Complaint: My checking account was frozen XX/XX/ for a fraudulent check deposited electronically by a company phishing via email. I was told by Capital One bank that I had been scammed and that my account had been frozen. I was told that the account was being investigated and that it could take up to 90 days for the account to close and my funds to be sent to me as a check in the mail. Last month, XX/XX/, I spoke with a sarcastic rep. who told me to come and pick up the funds from a branch that is very far. I would end up spending almost the same amount of the monies due to me in gas to get to the branch. Again, I was told to wait for the funds in the mail. Today I see the account has been closed. I called to verify that a check has been sent to me in the mail and the bank keeps putting me back in queue and then hanging up on me. I just want my money back. I still have a credit card with the bank and I no longer want a banking relationship with Capital One, only for the back to send my little funds due to me in the mail.

Consumer Complaint: To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to assert my rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ), 15 U.S.C. 1681 et seq., and demand a thorough investigation and prompt correction of a collection account that has been paid in full but continues to be inaccurately reported on my credit report as " payment after charge off/collection. '' Your immediate attention to this matter is required, as the continued presence of this inaccurate information is causing significant harm to my financial well-being. The collection account in question is as follows : Creditor : Walmart Account Number : N/A I have paid this collection account in full, and the outstanding debt has been satisfied. Despite the fulfillment of my financial obligation, the account still erroneously appears on my credit report as " payment after charge off/collection, '' which is an inaccurate representation of the account 's status. Pursuant to the FCRA, I demand that you initiate an immediate and comprehensive investigation to verify the accuracy of this collection account. Should you fail to substantiate the validity of this account or correct the inaccurate information, I insist that you promptly update the account 's status on my credit report to accurately reflect that it has been paid in full. In accordance with the FCRA, you have 30 days from the receipt of this letter to complete your investigation and provide me with the results in writing. If your investigation substantiates the inaccuracy of this collection account, you are legally obligated to correct the account 's status on my credit report and notify me of the changes made. I expect your agency to fulfill its legal obligations under the FCRA without delay. Failure to do so may result in further legal action on my part.

Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: I had purchased 2 tickets to a music festival called XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX for a total of {$720.00}. The festival was cancelled as of XX/XX/XXXX and was told to reach out to the point of purchase for a refund. I contacted the ticketing agency, XXXX, who stated that I would need to reach out to the merchant themselves, XXXX XXXX, XXXX. I attempted to email them and contact them by phone number that was provided but have received no response. I reached out to Capital One who stated that because it was past the 60 days, they were unable to move forward with the process. At this point, there have been multiple news articles related to the fraudulent festival and others that have worked with their credit card companies to have funds returned to them.

Consumer Complaint: What Im seeking is a meaningful review of the substance of my complaint with Capital One credit card resolving my dispute of fraudulent movers in XXXX of 2023. XXXX XXXX XXXX that took my deposit but never moved me & with XXXX XXXX XXXX who over charged me & delivered broken & smashed items. Under the circumstances I feel a through review of the documents that I sent on this dispute is most applicable. Capital One sent me a letter saying I didnt comply with in their time frame, which was due on their part of sending me a defective link every time for my papers & proof that didnt go through but was never told, which caused major delays in the process. Now they said its too late. I asked them over & over to review the case but they refused. I also talked with a Supervisor on this matter & she said she couldnt go any higher to resolve the situation. Please review all my notes & paper work that Capital One has & you will agree I was not treated fairly in this matter!
