Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Consumer Complaint: On or around XX/XX/XXXX I opened an account with Capital One. My account was in good standing up until XX/XX/XXXX when I could not longer keep up with my obligation to my account because of the XXXX XXXX. I was troubled as the rest of the world was as we were affected by this disaster. From the months of XXXX XXXX XXXX my account was unpaid until XX/XX/XXXX when I paid off my debt to the company and Capital One closed my account. Prior to this I made several attempts to have my payments be paused or some type of arrangement be made and my attempts were unsuccessful. This has damaged my credit and hurt my ability to obtain new credit. According to the CARES Act some type of relief should have been provided to me and it was not and I am completely distraught because of this harmful activity furnished on my credit report.

Consumer Complaint: Opened a Kohls Credit Card account through the checkout process at the store. Misunderstood that that transaction would be applied to the credit account. Did not activate credit card when it came in the mail. Attempts by Kohls to contact me via phone about late payment resulted in technically phone issues in which I recieved only static on the other end. Calling back always went to a generic customer service line. I assumed they were calling about activating the card, not trying to collect a late payment. The payment amount was only {$15.00}. Paying it would have not been a problem. I got an alert that my credit dropped over XXXX points, so I contacted them. They said they would fix it and close the account, but instead, left a {$1.00} balance on the account, which I was again, unaware of. Then my credit was hit AGAIN. OVER {$1.00}. So I went from a credit score of XXXX to XXXX. Over {$15.00}??? I got them to close the account, at least according to them. However, attempts to have them remove the delinquent report have failed. This is just bad service, and nuking someone's credit over XXXX like this is absolutely pitiful. I always pay everything on time and honestly prefer to pay things in full. The fact that my credit can be absolutely torched over this should be illegal.

Consumer Complaint: I applied for a Capital One ( Quicksilver ) Credit Card, with a {$200.00} Early Spend bonus ( ESB ) which was opened on XXXX. After submitting a charge so I could receive the ESB and after reviewing my account, it appeared that the ESB was not received. I not only placed a phone call to Capital One, but also filed with the XXXX Attorney General Office. I was then informed by Capital One that I ACCEPTED THEIR COUNTEROFFER for a different credit card ( WITHOUT ESB ). I then requested proof. I was informed of the following. Because the account was opened online, there is NO signed copy of the application, but I was offered a counteroffer on the phone, which I requested a copy of the phone transcription, I was informed it is proprietary information, so they are unable to satisfy my request. Their Welcome Kit Letter, does not mention at all that I was receiving information on a different credit card, that I supposedly accepted ( a counteroffer ) since I was not approved for the EBS Credit Card that I initially applied for. And why would I feel that I need to read of the information sent with the credit card, if I thought I received the Credit Card that I applied for. THIS WAS A BAIT AND SWITCH! Capital One has NO documentation in written form or verbally that I accepted a counteroffer.

Consumer Complaint: I did not sign up for this credit card, and I have reason to believe that someone has used my personal information to fraudulently obtain this account. The address associated with credit card isnt my address. I was informed that there is no proof that I signed up for this credit card. Furthermore, I am unable to access the account online or through any other means, as I do not have any information regarding the account, including the login credentials. I am extremely concerned about the negative impact that this fraudulent account has had on my credit score. I am unable to pay off the balance on this account as I did not create it, and I do not have access to any of the information required to do so.
