Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023 an inquiry from KOHLS/CAPONE appeared on my credit report. I have never attempted to open a credit card with Kohl 's or Capital One. When I called the number in the report the representative claimed that they were unable to find the request that would have led to the inquiry. They told me that the inquiry should disappear from my report within a couple of days. It is still on my account.

Consumer Complaint: The presence of a derogatory rating on my account is causing me great concern. I am deeply worried about the impact it may have on my credit. It has already led to the denial of a recent loan application and an increase in the interest rates on my existing credit accounts. I want to emphasize the severe financial and emotional distress that this negative rating has caused me and will continue to cause until it is resolved.

Consumer Complaint: We recently opened a Capital One Kids Savings account with a check for {$5000.00} from an inheritance to my XXXX XXXX XXXX daughter. Capital One cashed the check and placed it into the Kids Savings Account but has placed on hold on the account as well as another savings account that I have had with them for five years or so ( with a balance of {$100.00} ). I've called Capital One on 3 occasions, being placed on hold my long periods of time, and they will not release the money for either account. The are telling me that I must have the person that wrote the check, call Capital One or take a phone call from Capital One, so they can presumably decide if they are ever going to allow us to access this money. The check writer is in failing health and so far is unable to make a phone call. Capital One refuses to do any further investigation, such as calling XXXX, the bank that the check came from or take any other measures to conclude that the check is valid. The check was cashed and the funds taken from the XXXX account over one month ago and the check writer did not file any complaint with XXXX. There hasn't been any indication from XXXX that the XXXX check wasn't valid. There isn't basis or reason to suspect of doubt the authenticity or intent of the check writer. The check is vaild.

And my Vehicle 's value depreciated and XXXX lost 20 % of its value in the first year. I was out of work due to the Covid-19 pandemic and couldn't make monthly payments, so I sold this vehicle at a Lien Sale ( Public Sale ) for XXXX. And on XX/XX/XXXX, the loan was paid off by XXXX. I think Capital One Bank didn't give me the right loan rate, which cause me to lose my car while also losing money. For a lengthy loan, the loan period is 72 months, that's equal to 6 years. The longer the car loan, the more interest I pay with upside down on my loan. The car loan destroys my credit whenever I miss or late on payments. One missed or late payment can affect your credit for 7 years. As part of the high-pressure tactics Capital One representatives used to sell these add-on products to their consumers, was approval loan with low monthly income. By the time of loan approval, my sources of income were a {$600.00} Veteran Pension ( monthly ) and I was unemployed, but getting unemploy benefits weekly. However, the Lender didn't offer me a secured loan using some form of property as collateral, and the loan was supposed to be a low monthly income after six months of loan tenure, which never happened. Also, the bank encourages me to buy as one of its customers. Consumer Complaint: I applied for a XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) XXXX credit card and was approved. I further received an email notification from XXXX XXXX informing me that CapitalOne made a hard inquiry on my account ; therefore, that hard inquiry could stay on my account for approximately two years, and have an adverse effect on my credit score. On XX/XX/XXXX, I made a purchase via XXXX for {$190.00}. However, on XX/XX/XXXX, I attempted to make a purchase via Pottery Barns ; however, my newly activated card was declined. I called your customer service department to get information as to : why my account was closed, why I wasn't informed of the adverse action against me, and what I can do to retrieve my rewards points. I was initially informed that I needed to call XXXX ; however, once I informed the representative of the closed account and XXXX inability to credit a closed account, I was then informed that the rewards points ( {$19.00} ) were revoked. I requested to speak to a supervisor regarding my points since I did not make the decision to close my account, and this is a breach of contract on CapitalOne 's part. XXXX ( ID : XXXX ) informed me that I would need to wait for the letter to know the reason as to why my account was closed ( I'm assuming that an illiterate customer would be screwed ) ; however, when I asked her about my points, she incessantly noted that I needed to wait for the letter and the points were revoked. I requested the corporate office and legal department contact info ; however, I was informed by XXXX that she is the highest person that I'm speaking with and there is nothing that can be done. I asked several times for the corporate office number or address, and was told that the information is only for internal use and to protect CapitalOne privacy ( perhaps someone should inform her that your job is to protect customer 's privacy and not the institution ). However, if your address is to preserve your privacy, then why do you have it on your website? After contacting CapitalOne customer service, I was able to recollect that I had an encounter with this establishment two years prior. CapitalOne had promoted a false advertisement on XXXX XXXX 's website that would can get free shipping, 20 % and utilize the card upon approval ; however, when I applied for the credit card during that time frame, I did not receive the promotional offers and was unable to utilize my card. I had contacted customer service and was gaslit. CapitalOne customer service representative was disrespectful and unprofessional towards me. I had closed the account to avoid further interaction ; however, I kept receiving harassing letters from CapitalOne despite requesting not to be contacted. However, in XX/XX/2023, I got CapitalOne mixed up with XXXX old credit service provider, XXXX XXXX ( since at the time of my application, XXXX was transitioning to CapitalOne ) and applied without recalling their impropriety. In addition, when I saw CapitalOne on XXXX 's website, the only memory that came to mind was my experience with my car loan that was paid off with them. However, to retaliate and harass me, CapitalOne deliberately conducted a hard review on my credit report, activated my credit card, allowed me to purchase an item for over {$200.00}, and then closed my account to ensure that I didn't receive the reward points ( same tactic like the last time ). Furthermore, the item that I purchased, I used it prior to my credit card being closed by your establishment. If I had received an email or notification on my online account of your decision ( or if you guys had denied my application ), this would have given me the opportunity to keep the box and return the unused item ; however, CapitalOne wanted to be abusive and bully me, by not informing me of their decision immediately.

Consumer Complaint: I had a store credit card with Kohls. I made a in store purchase at Kohls in XXXX of XXXX in the amount of {$37.00}. I was signed up for electronic delivery for statements but never received an emailed statement. I was then notified by XXXX that Koh 's had reported a balance +60 days unpaid. I immediately went on to Kohl 's website and paid the original balance and all late fees as well as changed my billing preference to paper. I called Kohl 's customer service to advise them that I was never receiving the emailed statements. The individual said they could not discuss it with me but was happy to help be cancel my card. I proceeded to cancel my card. The next day XXXX notified me that my XXXX XXXX was decreased as a result of what Kohl 's reported. I called Kohl 's again and spoke with XXXX ( XXXX ) and explained that I was never receiving the emailed statements and asked if she can provide me with verification that they sent and delivered the statements to my email. She could not. I then asked if they could retract the negative reporting to the Credit Bureaus as a result of them not delivering me my statements. She said yes they could and I would receive a letter within 30 days from them. I received the letter yesterday and it said that they reviewed and will not be making an adjustment. I called Kohl 's today and spoke to XXXX and again explained that I was never receiving my statements and asked her why the prior representative said the negative reporting would be removed? I even shared that I asked her will it be removed and she said " yes since I never received my statements '' She said the prior representative probably misspoke. XXXX said that there is noting she can do to help me other than open another review with them. She also advised that I could not speak with anyone else who is actually conducting the review. I asked about why my statements were not sent to me for me to know that I had a balance and she said that they do not send them so she can not help me with that either. She said I could make a written request to them if I do obtain legal counsel. The bottom line is that they were not delivering me my statements as required leading to the negative reporting to the Credit Bureaus.
