Consumer Complaint: SUMMARY : Capital One has not provided me with information on a fraudulent account, as required by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, after almost two months and numerous letters and calls. In XXXX, I discovered through pulling my XXXX XXXX consumer report that a fraudulent bank account ( either checking or savings ) had been opened using my name and Social Security number at Capital One. The account had already been closed, but was appearing on my banking history report. On XX/XX/2023, I sent a letter to Capital One via certified mail requesting information on the account, written confirmation that it was closed, and written assurance that I was not responsible for the account. My FTC identity theft report and my XXXX file disclosure were enclosed in that letter. Hearing nothing, I followed up on XX/XX/2023 via telephone. The representative informed me that the documents were received, but were not eligible to be processed because, as she informed me, Capital One does not accept documents by mail. This surprised me. She said that I could re-submit my request via fax only, and must also include copies of two forms of identification. She also cautioned that Capital One reserved the right to deny my request and require a subpoena from a court in order for me to receive these documents. This also surprised me ; I thought that the Fair Credit Reporting Act required companies to provide information to victims of fraud. Nonetheless, I submitted the requested information via fax later that same day, XX/XX/XXXX. Still hearing nothing, I followed up again on XX/XX/XXXX via phone and asked about the status of my request. The customer service agent was unable to provide me with the status, and said that my request would be re-submitted and that I would receive a letter in 10 business days. I have still not received the letter, and this is now far past the 30 day window for the company to complete an investigation, and I have not received the requested documents.

I have no idea how they got this information and I refuse to take any financial and credit score hit for this!!

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX ( Original complaint ) To Whom May Concern, Im writing in regard to 2 of my credit cards with Capital One. The Spark Business credit card accounts ending in # XXXX and Captial One Quick Silver ending in # XXXX. I recently pulled my credit report & it shows that these cards are not being reported to the following Credit Bureaus XXXX and XXXX. I spoke with both XXXX and XXXX to confirm, I was told that the accounts are not being report to them and to call Capital one to speak with them. Also, that they're the ones who have to send documents in order for the credit card to start reporting. XX/XX/XXXX is when I initially reported the problem, I was sent a letter on XX/XX/XXXX and XXXX. Theyre two different departments. The letter stating that the Spark Business Card is being reported, the other letters for the Quick silver stated they wanted me to send more information proving that its not being reported. I sent Capital One a full credit report providing them with highlight details showing nether one of the credit cards on the credit reports. I also have another 3rd credit card with Capital One a Quicksilver account I provided as well showing that account is being report, just to prove that the other 2 are not. So I received another letter on XX/XX/XXXX. Both letters stated the credit cards are being reported. I'm not sure where the confusion is coming from whether its Capital one not reporting or it's XXXX or XXXX, I have no clue what else to do. As I was not aware of this matter until recently getting my credit repaired. I have a account with XXXX thats monitoring my credit & pulled my report from there website as well & neither one of those credit cards are showing. I have had these cards for some time now & this comes as a shock that making on time payments are not being accounted for toward my actual credit score. I hope this issue can be resolved quickly. Thank you! As of XX/XX/XXXX I recently received a copy of my credit report and the credit cards that I sent a complaint about are still not reporting to the credit bureau XXXX and XXXX. I was send a correspondence from Capital One stating within 60 days those accounts should be reporting. Ive been going back in forth with this issue for three months now. At this point Capital One still has not done their job because why is it taking this long Ive have these cards for years and Im not sure what occurred for them to stop reporting. I would like an explanation as to what need to happen next. Thank you!

Consumer Complaint: I closed an account in XXXX XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX and deposited the teller 's check to a new checking account in Capital One. On XX/XX/XXXX, one year after the deposit, Capital One withdrew the money and will not give me access to the funds. They said that ever since the money was deposited, a year ago, they have been trying to reach me for some clarification. I have not received any phone calls from them and the first time that I noticed the problem was when my funds for {$11000.00}, were withdrawn. They claim that they have returned the money to XXXXXXXX XXXX I closed the account with XXXXXXXX XXXX when I opened the Capital One account. So I asked Capital One to give me information on how they returned the money ( tracking number, date, copy of transfer, etc. ) so that I can approach XXXX ... Capital One has refused to give me any further information and has left me fending for myself. They have made the whole issue like a fraudulent transaction and are not taking any responsibility. I have gone there along with my husband, with a notarized document showing details of my identity and my husband 's identity and source of funds, but they are very hands-off. At this point, the $ XXXX plus is not accessible to me and Capital One has not helped and in fact has been very abusive. I have a list of their employees that I have been dealing with for the last 8 days. The whole file is apparently with the fraud department, which does not make sense.

Consumer Complaint: I have been going through issues with Capital One for a few years now and for some reason I'm being discriminated against every time I open an account with them. My credit is good and I've been approved on two occasions ; when I applied for a Capital One Card and I opened a Kohl 's account and my account was opened and then closed for no reason revealed to me. I don't have any Identity theft or anything of that nature right now, so the only thing that is apparent is discrimination for whatever reason. I'm a tax paying citizen that should not be going through this with a card company. I don't have any freezes on my credit or anything of that nature, so I need this resolved ASAP. They closed my account without any reason given to me and on top of that I even opened a secured Capital One Card with my own money and they closed that card as well and still haven't sent my money back that I used to open my account. This is totally unacceptable and someone needs to explain what's going on and quickly get this corrected. The discrimination has to stop and furthermore the egregious act is that the Company closed my account over 2 months ago and still hasn't sent me my funds that I used to open the secured account.
