Consumer Complaint: I have had my capital one silver credit card for almost 2 years never had an issue with it. I then got the venture one credit card from them and for some reason on the app it kept setting up auto pay. I always make my payments I make multiple payments a month to my credit cards, but the venture one card kept taking auto pay from the wrong account. I corrected the issue multiple times on the app and it still did it three times I went and fix the correct account and tried deleting the auto pay and it still kept doing it on the app yesterday I made a payment to capital one for {$300.00} on my silver card and they took the payment every single time I make a payment on my silver card. The payment always clears. Theyre saying they decided to close my account because of history of return payments. I only had a return payment on the other card to venture one card and it was because of the auto pay malfunction and I tried to explain that to them other than that I am always making payments on time. Im always always making payments with my quicksilver card. I use it for everything and Im making multiple payments a week on that card because I use it for everything. I need these cards, reopened the customer service. They couldnt give me a straight answer on to why they closed it and they took the money out of my account for the payment I made yesterday and every time I called the customer service theyre not giving me a straight answer and Ive told them about the issue with the app on the phone and how it keeps pulling out of the wrong account and now the app keeps glitching. It makes no sense because I dont have that problem with the silver card the silver card anytime I submit a payment it submits correctly, and I have the auto pay turned off for a reason for some reason the venture one kept turning the auto pay back on, and I explain this to them and theyre still keeping my credit cards closed. Its not like I have missed a payment its not like I dont pay them. I always pay my credit card every month they get the money and now they just close my credit cards out of nowhere its going to affect my credit score is going to ruin my life and meanwhile Ive been trying for years to get my credit on track to get my life on track especially recovering from XXXX and all the struggles I went through and XXXX and losing my job. Im trying so hard to get on track and they just gon na close my credit cards for a stupid reason for an issue with their app and they dont even want to help me and they dont wan na give me a valid explanation.

Consumer Complaint: OK. So this is a bit of a long story, but I am XXXX of being raked over coals. I have XXXX payments that were supposedly " missed '' and I will dispute them to XXXX and back because I always pay my debts on autopay. One is with TRUIST bank, a loan I have through them, that withdrew money through my account with them. They said I missed a payment and knocked my credit score down XXXX points. My own bank, which withdrew every other payment except the last one, which they reported as late which is XXXX. Paypal did this as well and when I got a restoration of some credit, it was nowhere near the XXXX points it dropped me. I had excellent credit. My balances routinely look maxed when they were not now because of how lenders work. The lender tells me to contact the bureaus, the bureaus tell me to contact the lenders. No one will help me, and I feel that I am being treated unjustly. I have hard inquiries on my report now because I am trying to lower all my balances. No one will take someone with a below XXXX score. So yeah.. Dropped credit limits, which lower score, which lower limits, which lower score is just not going to cut it for me. They couldn't possibly be wrong.. It has to be that I am a bum who doesn't pay my bills. I make {$74000.00} a year but since I've been getting circular whammied over and over, it doesn't even matter because I have had to kick so much debt around. Lenders, credit reporters, dispute handlers, are all useless and none want to restore me to what my credit was. I can not stop it from being bad because of the balances looking maxed out, and these people making mistakes they blame on me. I will dispute this over and over again because I've been wronged. It's like they know regular people can't lawyer up, but I could put them on TV.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/23 I was a victim of Car Break ( Case number XXXXPD XXXX with the XXXX XXXX Texas PD reported on XX/XX/23 ). Due to the numerous items being stolen from2my vehicle ; such as both me and my son ( s ) ( XXXX old ) personal identification cards ( SSN ), financial documents for both my place of residents/banking, my personal driver license, ( 7 ) Credit cards ( one being my sons ) a unlocked XXXX watch, as well as an unlocked laptop which has all my passwords saved on it. As the week would progress I would later learn I lost access to my personal accounts and encountered several compromised work related accounts and financial accounts resulting in Identity theft ( Case XXXX XXXX With XXXX XXXX Texas PD ) and multitude of fraudulent transaction with multiple financial institutions and many attempts to further compromise me. I had to work with many financial institutions ( XXXX, XXXX, XXXX ) to regain access to my accounts. Along with XXXX to recovery both personal and business accounts as my laptop was stolen my password were changed and I could not access my accounts, as well as XXXX to release my XXXX ID as it had been taking over and compromised in order to stop my phone from releasing secured links and codes to a forward device ( Case XXXX ) .Between my institutions I had to dispute over 73 transaction due to fraudulent activity a total of 24 transaction belonging to Capitol One between 23 my previous card ( XXXX ) and 1 transaction my sons ( XXXX ) that went through along with numerous others that were attempted by an individual ( s ) utilizing my capitol one stolen Credit card ( s ). I expressed to capitol one that I was compromised along with several other institutions I informed them that on the account in question with the 2 cards associated it was an account only used for XXXX payments and nothing else for over 8+ mo and none of the transactions associated with the account were authorized. I came to understand my account was compromised password changed and email address changed to an email address not associated with me or my ( XXXX XXXX XXXX son ) who could not have one. I would over the weeks have many calls to Capitol one for further explanation on the situation and insure clarity where I was questioned on why I as the account holder was I in possession of the authorized users credit card for my account, where I had to explain it was my sons allowance card and he was not old enough to hold it. I was questioned in a condensing way where instead of being the victim of a nightmare of a situation I was the suspect. Furthermore I called to receive understanding on why I was charged interests on transaction credited and not authorized by me. When 2wks prior I had paid my balance in full which is when they would respond by saying that a credit was given of {$91.00} when in fact it was a purchase adjustment for a fraudulent charge not an interest reimbursement. I later paid the full balance of the account as they investigated the other transactions. Which was recently updated on ( XX/XX/23 ) Where it stated " I had them open up an investigation due to fraudulent activity, when they have found insufficient evidence in support of fraud and information discovered supported that I or an account user benefitted from the transactions. When In fact my son is not old enough to make any purchases on his own let alone read or have access to a device and I did not benefit at all from any transactions. I have made it a point not to utilize this account for anything other than XXXX as a bill account. This has been a traumatic experience for me as well as scary for my younger son as I do not hope nor wish he continues to have trouble as he grows. I have had little to no support but concerning allegations. I have been a victim of not only car burglary but identity theft for me and my son. This institution has disregarded my statements and calls. Where I stated accounts were opened in my name fraudulently and my sons in attempt to impersonate and make transactions and access funds through credit card companies and banks under our identity, As well my banking institution and XXXX and XXXX Id accounts compromised and passwords changed and accessed. I have reached out to merchants where they have stated address that are not my billing address or home address nor my email address that was compromised but a mix of ( name, emails, and addresses that are not mine or my XXXX old sons ) as well as accounts and emails that have been attempted in our names. This institution has left a bad taste as a consumer with them and I have never in the XXXX I have been with them had issues until now.

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX Vehicle purchased, sales contract signed stating first payment would not be due until XX/XX/XXXX, monthly in the amount of {$580.00} XX/XX/XXXX In balance history states it has not been paid, on payment history a check mark indicates it has I have bank statements that prove a payment was made and withdrawn on XX/XX/XXXX, but Capital one continued to say they had not received Upon calling numerous times, each time we called the operator said that payment had been received and not to worry When our accounts and e-mail correspondence from cap 1 continued to say we were delinquent we verbally requested phone record which were denied due to legal processes Upon a withdrawal of {$580.00} on XX/XX/XXXX ( which was not authorized, an additional payment was taken of {$560.00} on XX/XX/XXXX, which was the amount requested, however XXXX was listed as not receiving any payment ( 30 day late ) When I called to inquire, I was told again no XXXX payment was made, when I told then the co-signer made the other payment denied receiving any payment and told me all I could do was verify my cosigner truly did pay XX/XX/XXXX We were told a XXXX payment was not received ; however the bank withdrew {$560.00} on XX/XX/XXXX. We again went back and forth with customer service with no help, at this point a 30 and 60 days late mark was put on our credit reports XX/XX/XXXX Payment of {$630.00} made on XX/XX/XXXX and annotated as received by capital 1 in our account portal XX/XX/XXXX, payment return despite funds being available and no issues with bank XX/XX/XXXX {$560.00} payment made and marked as received by cap XXXX XXXX XXXX 90 day late mark on credit report despite proof of payment, and almost daily effort to clear up discrepancy XX/XX/XXXX Disputed marks on XX/XX/XXXX for all 3 files Got results back XXXX from XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX from XXXX, and XX/XX/XXXX from XXXX Dispute proof submitted through dispute, 60 in XXXX remained, 30 in XXXX, and 90 in XXXX Changed to scheduled payments in desperation to keep our credit from being further targeted, payment scheduled for every two weeks to also prevent repossession even though amts were inaccurate on XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX both in the amounts of {$560.00} 60 day late mark onto our credit for XXXX despite proof that payments had been made with no help from lender to clear up on XX/XX/XXXX our account was showing 95 days past due in the amt of {$1700.00} XXXX has XXXX XXXX as paid on XXXX but XXXX does not We contacted a family lawyer to look into the matter, however, due to personal health issues he has not been able to move forward in a timely manner so he advised us to freeze our credit files

Consumer Complaint: CapitalOne aggressively markets credit cards with the " cash back '' benefit. I have several card accounts, all of which are maintained in good standing for many years. I have been fortunate to pay off most of them, and for the most part, I pay the statement balances in full each month. Some cards I use only rarely, so because I'm not gaining any " cash back '' benefits, it is inappropriate to charge an excessive annual fee. For the particular card in this complaint, with only a {$1300.00} credit limit, a {$59.00} annual fee is excessive.

Consumer Complaint: I have several CapitalOne credit cards and have maintained all of them in good standing for many years. Some I use more than others, some have/ had substantially higher credit limits than others. The card at issue was recently reduced credit limit without prior notice, and with no justification related directly to my conduct and account maintenance of this specific card. Sudden reduction in credit limit has a direct negative impact on credit score, because 1/3-ish of the score calculation is about the % of available credit used. The substantial reduction has caused a substantial decrease in my personal credit scores.

I received an email about my check stating when the available funds will be in my account ( no reason, assumed because insufficient funds which is reasonable ) on XX/XX/XXXX, which is about 7 days. After said date, the funds were " available '' but not accessible to me. I called capital customer service multiple times, and their reason was stating that the check XXXX was named differently than the company. Then when I provided a phone number for them to call to verify the company, capital one said they needed a " direct line '' to the accounting department of the company because the home number was not " verified ''. Which confused the realty company because the number I provided was the home number for all departments. Capital one has two recorded phone calls of me doing so.I have repeatedly checked to see funds available, and they were not until the week of XX/XX/2023. I was also not provided a hold deposit form which is required by banks with a 7 day hold. This cause me to be short on money for necessary things such as bills, daycare, and rent.
