Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Card was charged for something you did not purchase with the card
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/, I learned that the XXXX printer I purchased last year is charging me to print in my home because I was promised free printer cartridges for 6 months. But I am being sent instant print cartridges that I have to pay for. If I take credit card off account my account is disabled. Yet I buy paper to print in my home and now account is disabled again because XXXX charged {$71.00} and I requested it be credited back to my account because I requested the account be closed on XX/XX/. However, I am being charged for subscription I didn't ask for. I want All the money returned. Immediately because the charge caused my credit card to be over the limit.

Consumer Complaint: I got pre-approved for multiple credit cards by Capital One and I chose one amongst those to fill out an application. I got denied that very minute. This whole pre-approval technique is one big scam by credit companies. If pre-approval never guarantees approval why is it called Pre-approval? This is so manipulating and I don't see how this is legal in our country. They try to put a soft pillow under your head by saying if you fill out this application you will get a hard inquiry because you getting pre-approved when they are not intertwined and only a mere reflection. I got a hard inquiry on my credit report when I was given multiple cards to choose from as I was so-called " pre-approved '' How is this legal? Someone, please explain to me how it's legal to trick customers into filling out a credit application knowing the pre-approval process doesn't guarantee anything. This is so wrong. The name itself is already misleading. I want my negative credit remark to be removed from my history. I would have never applied if I knew pre-approval doesn't guarantee anything. Why is this program even in the process? Makes no sense. Can someone stand up for us? Stop this scam

Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: Hello, This is for a business credit card with CapitalOne in my name. We have an advertising account with XXXX. Unfortunately, XXXX locked us out of our account beginning in early XXXX as XXXX thought our account was hacked. No amount of messaging with XXXX support could resolve the issues. XXXX doesn't provide any phone # to call so everything must be done over chat. XXXX kept billing us for ads on their platform, despite us not having any access to our accounts. After more than XXXX weeks of back and forth with XXXX, I called CapitalOne to dispute the recent charges. We had no knowledge of any ongoing ads, and we could not turn ads on or off, nor could we update ads as we normally would, as XXXX had locked us out. CapitalOne requested that I provide proof that I didn't get any ads, which was impossible as I was locked out of XXXX. I explained the situation in a letter to CapitalOne, and provided some screen shots of our chat history with XXXX to prove that we were desperately trying to get them to unlock our account but they wouldn't. CapitalOne has rejected my dispute and demands that I pay more than {$9000.00} in advertising that XXXX ) I don't even know if I received, and XXXX ) wouldn't have been the advertising that I would have chosen, as we change product advertisement on a weekly basis to match our business needs. I will not pay.

Consumer Complaint: As per the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( 15 USC 1681 ), Section 602a emphasizes the importance of consumer reporting agencies handling their responsibilities fairly, impartially, and with respect for privacy. I, as the consumer, assert my right to safeguard my private information, supported by 15 USC 6801, which highlights the obligation of financial institutions to respect customer privacy. CAPITAL ONE, classified as a financial institution, must adhere to Section 604a ( 2 ) of 15 USC 1681, requiring consumer reporting agencies to furnish a consumer report only based on the consumer 's written instructions. I revoke any and all consent for XXXX, XXXX and CAPITAL ONE to furnish my information, explicitly stating that they lack my written consent. Additionally, 15 USC 6802 ( b ) ( c ) prohibits financial institutions from disclosing nonpublic personal information without explaining how the consumer can exercise the nondisclosure option. Capital One failed to inform me of this right. Furthermore, 15 USC 1681C ( a ) ( 5 ) restricts consumer reporting agencies from including adverse information without authorization. The law ( 15 U.S. Code 1681s-2 ( A ) ( 1 ) ) prohibits furnishing inaccurate information to consumer reporting agencies, and 15 U.S. Code 1681e mandates agencies to maintain reasonable procedures. Consumer Complaint: I sent the attached letter to Capital One. I also called to try to resolve the issue. When COVID-19 forced the closing of my employer in XXXX of 2020, I called immediately to discuss options. I was not late then, but I asked what I could do in light of what was happening. The representative was kind. She said that, for three months, no late information would be reported on the card. I then called XXXX XXXX XXXX to set up this account with a payment plan. Capital One refused to work with XXXX despite their attempts to pay the bill, despite what they told me over the phone. Attached is documentation that 1 ) shows the late payments on my credit report, 2 ) shows my employer was closed, 3 ) shows I acted within the bounds of the CARES Act during COVID-19 by calling and with XXXX calling , and 4 ) shows payments which were not applied to my account.
