Consumer Complaint: I had opened a CFPB case XXXX with information. Bank of America closed that even after i provided valid data. I opened XXXX which was closed by CFPB. I am opening a new case and attaching the data. I have already shared the password with Bank of America. When I tried to check for any discrepancies in the Bank of America credit card account. The actual balance as per XXXX XXXX statement is XXXX but I notice an extra amount of {$1.00} when I calculate difference between all purchases and all payments. I am attaching the spread sheet that explains the discrepancy. On Tuesday, XX/XX/2023, XXXX XXXX PST, XXXX XXXX XXXX wrote : Respected Officials, After i replied, there was a XXXX cent deposit into my account today morning. I need proper data about where this interest is coming from and without that i request Bank of America from avoiding resolution to the cases. When a deposit is made, there must be a reference to dispute it is related to. If there is market manipulation in XXXX or USA or any other country that had insiders information about this, it must be investigated. I have an FTC case open XXXX. If Bank of America says that they provided a temporary credit for a dispute, until the dispute is resolved, then why should they charge interest on the expense being disputed. If they indeed received an interest from the merchant then the interest must goto Bank of America. That is the reason i opened the cases and issued refunds. If they claim to provide temporary resolution and gave me the amount disputed then they must not charge an interest on that. To make me sift through their bank statements and file a CFPB case takes time. But closing a case opened saying that they are unable to open a file i sent is not correct. Especially, without officially communicating it to the person opened the case. Bank of America has closed the case the CFPB case XXXX again on XXXX XXXX without any detailed response. So I am logging a new case. They have mentioned that they haven't provided complete details to protect my privacy and they have sent it by postal mail. I request that the company investigate and keep the case open until I receive detailed resolution.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, Bank of America stopped my credit card. I noticed it when I tried to use the card for the XXXX XXXX in XXXX, which was {$2.00} one ticket. I contacted BoA on XX/XX/XXXX with one of their customer representative, and was told that my credit card has been stopped so that I will not be able to use the credit card anymore. At the same time, the checking and savings accounts of mine with BOA will be closed in two weeks too, which will be done the process of deleting those bank accounts on XX/XX/XXXX. I asked the reason why they decided to delete all my accounts, and they refused to answer and said they made the decision based on their policies. I wont be told the reason based on their bank policies either.

Consumer Complaint: I got a call from Bank of America & I thought it was urgent so I took the call. The guy was telling me that my account was hacked and in order for them to recover the funds, I would need to make a XXXX payment. Since it was the bank calling, I assumed that thats how it works. But I was fooled & tricked because it was actually a scam! When I reported this to my bank, they told me that I did get scammed. They told me that theyll investigate & will try to retrieve the funds taken out of my bank. After a few days, they got back to me but they didnt succeed into trying to retrieve the funds. They denied my claim & closed the case even though they know that I got scammed. I just feel that they shouldnt have closed it yet & shouldve investigate it furthermore.

Subissue: Fee problem
Consumer Complaint: In XXXX of XXXX, The State of California attached a {$20000.00} levy to my checking account for unpaid taxes, and without a warning, Bank of America withdrew and sent them money from my checking account. The same date, Bank of America also withdrew and kept a separate " Legal Order Fee '' of {$120.00}. I called BofA to try to get that fee reimbursed, but they reassured me it was a one-time non-reversible fee, and even though the legal order/ levy was still in place ( and would be for years while I get the taxes paid off ), I would never be charged a legal order fee again for this levy. I believed them, and so it remained in place ( status of PAID. ) A few months later in XX/XX/XXXX ( with BofA sending State of CA some payments from my account in the meantime ), BofA sent another payment to the State of California -- and another {$120.00} Legal Order Fee was charged. I noticed this and called BofA immediately. They apologized for the error, said they should not have re-charged me another fee for the already-existing levy that was atttached to my account, and refunded that fee to me. Fast forward to XX/XX/XXXX ( with several payments sent to State of CA in the meantime ). I was again charged a {$120.00} Legal Order Fee for the exact same levy that began in XXXX. Since then, I have spent many, many hours on the phone and in the branch attempting to have the erroneous ( and by this point, triple-charged " one-time '' fee ) removed by Bank of America. This time, instead of apologizing for their error and refunding the erroneous fee like they did in XX/XX/XXXX, they refuse to refund it to me -- and will not give an explanation of why I again have paid another " one-time '' Legal Order Fee. Several of the call center folks I spoke with even agreed with me that it is not right, but it is not in their power to refund it to me. I have reached the end of the escalation point of both the in-person branch in Sparks, NV and the customer service phone call center, so there is no one left to help me at Bank of America XXXX I have triple-paid this fee and now lost time from work and lost sleep trying to get them to do the right thing. I need help please.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, Bank of American posted a charge of {$4500.00} to our business account for an item purchased from XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ). The item was delivered the third week of XXXX ; however, we refused delivery as the item was damaged. In the past, when we've had similar issues with XXXX items, they have issued a refund of our money as soon as they have confirmation that their shipping company has possession of the item. We also made sure to call our customer support rep at XXXX to let them know the item is being returned and why. Generally, the refund is back in our account within a week. After XXXX weeks of nothing happening, we contacted XXXX and were given the run around about not being able to locate the returned item. We then went ahead and disputed the charge with Bank of America. At the end of XXXX, I contacted Bank of America to get a status update because we had been told by XXXX that the refund had been issued. Bank of America told us that they submitted our claim to XXXX 's bank on XX/XX/XXXX and were still waiting for a response. Over the course of the next two plus weeks, we would get conflicting information from Bank of America and from XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, I was instructed by XXXX to drop the claim we filed as that was the reason the funds were not coming back. They also informed me that they had approved the chargeback dispute and authorized the funds to be sent back to me. They even provided us with a screenshot showing their release/authorization. I had multiple calls with Bank of America on XX/XX/XXXX and XXXX about this. I told them what XXXX had said, and that the funds were not with them but with Bank of America. Bank of America refuted that, stating they are a receiving bank and credit funds as soon as they are received. In XXXX final effort, I got representatives of Bank of America and XXXX on the phone with me. Bank of America acknowledged that there was a chargeback, but said that no funds were pulled back from XXXX, which is not, from all that we know, possible because the chargeback is the pulling back of funds from XXXX to Bank of America. And XXXX 's records show that the money was reversed back to my bank. I contacted XXXX today. They said they have seen nothing from Bank of America and are now telling me I need to get Bank of America to take action because my funds are with the Bank. I am getting extremely frustrating because, contrary to what they are saying, I do believe my money is sitting in a suspense or hold account and they, for whatever reason, are refusing to release it to me.
