Consumer Complaint: This is in response to : COMPLAINT ID : XXXX I reached out to Bank of America regarding this complaint ( case # XXXX ) and they provided me with a confirmation they received from the alleged beneficiary bank confirming the funds have been received. I have attached the confirmation to this email. Upon opening the pdf, the beneficiary bank the funds were sent to is incorrect. The funds were indeed sent to the wrong bank per the pdf attached. I have attached my original instructions. The bank or its intermediary have sent the funds to the wrong bank and now the incorrect beneficiary is not responding to their recall request. I am now stuck because someone made a clerical error. I was hoping someone can help me bc bank of america is giving the runaround. I put the right information into my transfer and yet the Bank or its intermediary made a mistake on their end. It's not me, the client, who made the mistake but someone on their end either the bank or it's intermediary. The confirmation they have provided me with prove that the Receiver Institution on the PDF is : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX with XXXX XXXX ; The BANK I instructed Bank of America to send the funds to is XXXX with XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ). Two differents institutions. I really need some help because I am still waiting 7 months later for incorrect info and the Bank of America is giving me the lip service treatment.

Issue: Struggling to pay mortgage
Subissue:
Consumer Complaint: I have a Countrywide Mortgage that originated in XXXX. Bank of America services the mortgage for XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ( as of XXXX ). On XX/XX/XXXX I received the attached response from Bank of America which was also sent to The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau responding to my complaint in case number : XXXX. The fifth paragraph of the letter from XXXX XXXX XXXX, Resolution XXXX, Regulatory Complaints states : " During a telephone conversation on XX/XX/XXXX, I discussed that in order to be approved for a payment deferral, your loan must be no more than 18 months past due. At the time of the call the loan was paid through the XX/XX/XXXX installment and didn't qualify as it exceeded the deferral program requirements. In XXXX of XXXX I made four full payments of {$4600.00} to bring the payments down to 17 months past due and in the beginning of XXXX I made an additional full payment of {$4600.00} to keep the payments at XXXX past due. The customer service representatives I spoke told me me that I would be approved for a deferral of the 17 months of payments that were allowed to be put into forbearance during the Covid-19 period and that they would be tacked onto the back of the mortgage as a balloon payment. I relied on those statements and statements of XXXX XXXX XXXX when I made the four payments. If a Bank of America employee from the Regulatory Complaints Department makes a statement in a letter responding to a complaint the consumer has filed with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the consumer relies on that statement and then Bank of America should honor those statements. As of today 's date, Bank of America has has not deferred the 17 months of Covid-19 forbearance.

Issue: Opening an account
Subissue: Account opened as a result of fraud
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX someone tried to open up an account with Bank of America using my social security number. Along with an identity fraud XXXX, I reached out to Bank of America to make sure that all attempts to open accounts would be rejected. They confirmed with me that a flag would be placed on my account and no one would be able to open any accounts unless I received a notification in my Bank of America app. Despite this, on XX/XX/XXXX, Bank of America successfully allowed someone to open an account using my social security number and an address that was not mine. Theme for me that the flag to prevent anybody from opening accounts was not adequately placed because the past attempt was not a full open but just an attempt to open an account. My complaint is to escalate the fact that it is so simple, just simply using a person 's social security number and name to open a fraudulent account at Bank of America to an address that is not my address. This is an even bigger deal because I have active accounts at Bank of America and they should be well aware that this is not my address nor my phone number. Fortunately, the fraudster used a variation of my email address and I was alerted to the fraud but I shudder to think what would happen had it actually gone through and I didn't call Bank of America to shut down the fraudulent account.

Consumer Complaint: My BOA bank card was blocked on XX/XX/2022. The balance in the account was around XXXX XXXX dollars. Before the card was blocked, many people had transferred money to my BOA account, and all transactions were normal. There were about 50 transactions totaling XXXX XXXX dollars. BOA bank blocked my account and sent me an email without explaining why my bank account was blocked. We took many actions, such as calling BOA bank to unlock it, but BOA said they needed to audit our account and did not specify how long the audit would take. However, they asked us to call every week for consultation, and we have been calling every week until today, half a year later and then.

Consumer Complaint: My email address seems to have been compromised : XXXX. Last night at XXXXXXXX XXXX I received emails from Bank of America referencing an online account sign up. Account confirmation verficiation emails appear to have been opened since I received further emails welcoming me to the bank. I then receieved another email around XXXX XXXX this morning showing the denial of an account application under the name XXXX. My name is not XXXX and I did not file an application. ( Note, I have received a multiple emails over the past few years under the name XXXX signing up for various websites. ) My name is XXXX XXXX and I did not use my email address to attemp to open this account. I am filing this complaint since this person is using my email address to attempt to open a bank account. I spoke with Bank of America and they confirmed with me that XXXX did not use personally identifiable information like my SSN for the application, though I am still concerned they were able to sign up and apply through using my email. My XXXX password has been changed 3 days ago, and for some reason this person still has access to my information. 2 weeks ago I experienced fraud on my XXXX account where someone had used reward points to order dinner in Oregon. I live in New Jersey and did not authorize this. I will be filing a complaint with this FTC on this matter. However I believe these incidents may be related and this " XXXX '' should be investigated. I will be no longer signing up for new accounts with my XXXX email and plan to delete the account after backing up my data. Please let me know if you need any further information from me and if you are able to identify this person and how they have access to my XXXX account even after changing my password and having 2 step verification enabled. I have attached the emails from Bank of America which I did not authorize, as well as past emails I was able to find referencing the name XXXX. There were more emails in the past starting around XXXX but I am not able to find them.
