Consumer Complaint: On my back statements I seen there's been credits loaded from EDD and most Depits made are not mine. I never could used my EDD card at stores because it will decline I had to call the number behide the card first before I can used my card at any stores. And I couldn't go to bank of America to withdraw money because My EDD card had the name XXXX XXXX XXXX and my ID was XXXX XXXX so I never could of used that EDD prepaid card from bank of anerica. I got XXXX from EDD to my bank of America prepaid card. The mosti got was XXXX the rest I don't know what happen. There's transaction not from me or even return purchases that I never return. In the month of XX/XX/XXXXXXXX to XX/XX/XXXXXXXX I had a balance of XXXX plus credits XXXX and new balance of XXXX credit and summary of transactions XXXX were depit from my account in 1 months. You can see my bank statements it only shows Depits where you can investigate n see on there cameras where they used card is not me or who ever tookthe money bank of America. I don't know all I know I did not used that money .when I would call bank of America n explain to them my problem after listening and knowing what I was talking about they will hang up on me even the manager of bank of America will hang up.

Consumer Complaint: There was a fraudulent charge on my credit card that is with Bank of America on XX/XX/2023 from a company called XXXX and I reported this on the same date at around midnight. I was made aware about this fraudulent charge through Bank of America 's security system that alerted me of suspiscious charges on XX/XX/2023 The card was locked and disabled. On XX/XX/XXXX, I contacted Bank of America both through phone and in person to dispute this charge and they told me it would take about 108 days to resolve. I ordered a new card on the same date and a new debit card just in case this was a security breach, even though Bank of America insists that the credit card information was stolen via a swipe machine. I also made attempts to contact XXXX about the charge, but both their phone number and email are automated to demand the contacter make an account through their website to even talk to someone and their address is a mailing address to a po box , and not a headquarters address. I have attempted to contact Bank of America about filing a police report but have been unable to get in contact with the fraud department and they expect me to pay for the fraudulent charge, as they now include it as a balance. Bank of America has failed to keep my information secured, has done poorly in responding to communications, and even went as far as to try making me pay for it with the threat of reoccuring balance charges. I am in the process of seeking a new bank to deposit my check and intend to shut down my bank of america account indefinitely.

Consumer Complaint: Hi. I had an identity theft on a Bank of America credit card. It was reported to them and they investigated. I received a letter in the mail saying I was not responsible for this debt and Bank of America would notify the credit bureaus. They also dont need a new card with a new credit card number obviously. Now, a few months later they are calling me saying I owe the debt and its back reporting on my credit reports. What is wrong with Bank of America and why do they use these sleazy illegal tactics. This needs to be removed

Consumer Complaint: I opened a checking and saving account at Bank of America ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, FL XXXX ) on XX/XX/2023 and I deposited {$100.00}. On XX/XX/2023 I have issued a wire transfer of XXXX euro from my Italian bank account ( XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX to my Bank of America checking account. On XX/XX/2023 I tried to access the banking center but I was not able to access. I called the customer service and all the support numbers but they told me to call back on Monday, XXXX when the offices would be open. On XX/XX/XXXX I called the customer service number of BofA and they told me that the bank had taken the decision to close my account giving me no explanations and that the expected closure date was the XX/XX/XXXX. The bank would have issued a check with all the money I had in the bank account and I would have had to call back on XX/XX/XXXX to get the tracking number of the check shipment. I called on XX/XX/XXXX and they told me that the closure date had moved to XX/XX/XXXX, then to XX/XX/XXXX and today the new account closure date is the XX/XX/XXXX. I even talked to a supervisor but the situation hasn't been solved yet. They keep moving the closure date and I am not able to get my money back until the account is closed.

Consumer Complaint: On Thursday XX/XX/XXXX I called Bank of America to close my checking account, which had approximately {$1400.00} remaining in it. On the phone I was told that my options to settle the funds out of the account included ACH transfer for a {$3.00} fee that would take up to 3 business days. Unhappy with the fee proposed to close my account, I asked for an alternative settlement option. I was told that a Cashier 's Check could be mailed out to me without incurring a fee. I was told the Cashier 's Check would be mailed in 2 business days. I accepted this option as I did not want a fee, and the 2 business days was an acceptable timeframe for me. Today, Friday XX/XX/XXXX, having not received the cashier 's check yet via mail, I called into Bank of America to inquire if there was a tracking number they could provide for the Cashier 's Check. I was told by the first representative I spoke with that the Cashier 's Checks take roughly 2 weeks to arrive. When I told her that the previous agent on Thursday XX/XX/XXXX had confirmed a 2-business day lead time, the representative said that was incorrect. I was transferred to the department that handles the issuance of these checks and they told me that they have no way to track the checks, and do not even have a confirmation in their system of whether or not the check was indeed sent out. She recommended that I continue waiting at least 10 business days from the date the account officially closed ( Mon. XX/XX/XXXX ). If the check has not arrived, then I can request a new Cashier 's Check, which will take 7-10 business days from that point. This is entirely unacceptable from a major banking institution. They should 1. offer no-cost ACH transfers when closing accounts. or 2. Have actual controls and tracking system in place for checks that are mailed. Having been told completely incorrect information that determined my decision to use Cashier 's Check, I have little confidence that the check will arrive in a timely manner now. I have no ability to view the status of the check. Bank of America is making it difficult and untimely to access my own money. The first agent I spoke with today said she always recommends customers use transfers when closing out their accounts to avoid this type of issue, however they charge a fee to do so. This seems like a sketchy at best business practice and one that should be scrutinized by the CFPB. Bank of America does a considerable amount of harm to the working class in this country through their fee structure and ridiculously low interest rates for deposits ( being the key reasons I sought an alternative banking partner ). While Americans do have freedom of choice to change banking partners, they should not be penalized for deciding to change.

Consumer Complaint: I have now spent two weeks trying to set up transfers between Bank of America and XXXX. I am a gold preferred client with BofA and have been their customer for 27 years. The problem ( admitted by one of the Bank of America XXXX ) is/was from BofA 's side. I have tried their website ( many attempts ), emailed, called, and gone to the local branch. At first they blocked my account for a week and a half. While the block has been removed, I still can not set up this transfer. I tried doing it, somewhat successfully, from XXXX 's side ( took a minute ) but this did not seem fully recognized by BofA ( stated it was inactive ). Today BofA 's rep had me delete this from my account, and had me go through exactly the same steps as I had before, with exactly the same results. Except the link I had established is now gone, as well as another half hour of my time ( I estimate time lost to be 5 and 1/2 hours at this point ). BofA continues to try to blame XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: I have had 4 fraudulent accounts attempted to be open with Bank of America in the past month. 2 of these fraudulent accounts were opened. Both times I contacted BoA to close this and report fraud on them. I have also placed a notice with XXXX and frozen my credit file with the credit agencies. Even by doing this BoA allowed for an 2 additional account requests to be put in and 1 to be fraudulently opened. BoA also has no tools in place to prevent an account from being opened in my name. So this is continuing to happen.
