Consumer Complaint: Ive been back and fourth fighting everyday with Bank of America sometimes 4 hours a day they completely locked me out of any online services to my account did agent assisted transfers Ive never done and continues to allow activity in transfers ease and reversals and no statement or access for communication possible for me account take over and discrimination to be able to view access anything to now a year and half later send me resolutions letters of my account be credited and permanent and not releasing or giving my funds over a month of resolution the denie my claims less then 24 hrs when it takes 3 hours to summit with no details of investigation or reason of denial I have n way to get my money if no one regulated the law on the banks I have nothing but letters and no action its XXXX how can anyone continue to let this happen

Consumer Complaint: Dear CFPB, I am writing to file a formal complaint against Bank of America due to their failure to resolve an unauthorized charge on my account and their inconsistent handling of my claim, which has led to a great deal of frustration and financial distress. On XX/XX/2023, I discovered an unauthorized charge of {$4000.00} from XXXX on my account. I promptly visited the Bank of America branch on XXXX XXXX in XXXX, CA, where they connect with the Fraud department by Phone. The Fraud department report that a claim has been open. However, when I followed up on XX/XX/XXXX for an update, I was informed that no claim had been filed. This confusion was exacerbated when I was told that a new claim could not be filed because one supposedly already existed for this transaction. This contradictory and confusing information has been a consistent theme in my repeated communications with the bank. I have called Bank of America numerous times, seeking clarity and resolution. Each call has resulted in either being told that no claim is on file or that a new claim can not be opened due to the existence of an alleged claim. This lack of clear communication and resolution has been both distressing and time-consuming. It has been over 30 days since the incident, and I am still without any definitive information or resolution. In addition, I have been unfairly charged interest on the disputed amount. I have reached out to XXXX directly at the Bank of America branch, confirming that they have no record of this rental transaction, indicating a clear case of fraud. Despite all evidence and my persistent efforts, I have received my XXXX credit card statement. I am being forced to pay not only the original unauthorized charge of {$4000.00} but also an additional {$150.00} in interest. The conflicting information provided by Bank of America representatives has left me in a state of limbo, unsure of whether a claim exists and unable to move forward in resolving this fraudulent charge. I urgently request your intervention in this matter. The handling of this issue by Bank of America has been inadequate and highly problematic, resulting in unnecessary financial burden and significant stress. Thank you for your prompt attention to this urgent matter. I am eagerly awaiting your response and assistance in resolving this issue.

Consumer Complaint: I went to Bank of America on XX/XX/XXXX to deposit my pay around XXXX. I had asked my employer to pay me cash because I needed to pay some bills and didnt want to wait for my check to clear. I attempted to make the cash deposit at the ATM and after I inserted my money in the machine, the machine started malfunctioning and went to the home page. It didnt not give me credit for my whole pay. I immediately called Bank of America to figure out what to do. The representative said to not worry, that my cash was safe in the atm and that a claim would be made so that I could get a credit for that money in two days due to the circumstances. She asked to give her the ATM number that was displayed on the ATM, I had to look everywhere and it was not present so I had to look at the other atms so she could disqualify those and see where I was. I waited two days and nothing showed on my account. I called the bank again and they said it was going to take 10 business days for the credit to show, that I wouldnt get the credit until XX/XX/2024. I re-explained I had to pay bills and there was no way I could go through the holidays without any money at all. They said they would try to expedite it and I would most likely receive the credit in 2 days ( keep in mind they had said they would do this when I first filed the complaint and didnt ). I waited the two days and called to see if there were any updates because even though I had requested written updates, none were given ). The representative said the expedited request was denied. I asked for what reason and to be connected to the team that makes that decision. She said, they do not even talk to them and had no way of communicating with them. My account is now negative so I asked if I would get charged overdraft fees when they are the reason why my account is over draft and they are keeping my money interest free. She said I would, and had to keep calling back to ask to please waive the fees but even then it wasnt guaranteed. This issue occurred through no fault of my own and yet Im being punished for Bank of America not maintaining their equipment. Now I have to go through the holidays with no money, have no money for bills, no money for rest, have to keep wasting my time calling them to please waive the overdraft fees and give me my money.

I went back to the bank but the banker refused to help me.

Consumer Complaint: Hi, I am very sick and have been getting XXXX from Ca. until I get a XXXX XXXX. My benefits were due to run out on XX/XX/2023. I called to ask if they could be extended as we wait for my XXXX. I filled out the form as they instructed me to do. I found out that they froze my account on XX/XX/2023. I can not work, pay my rent or buy food let alone XXXX! Every XXXX on that XXXX account was all that I have to survive until I get a XXXX XXXX XXXX. I've gone into the bank for hours with the manager and told BOTH by Bank of America and XXXX that the other one closed it. Please help me!

Consumer Complaint: Bank of America locked my account and placed it in a risk closure status. Soon after on XX/XX/XXXX they opened XXXX claims without my knowledge. These claims were for checks that were written by me to a few business partners. Also at the time of the locking of my account I had a check that was pending clearance for the amount of XXXX XXXX. They check did clear and became available to me but because of the status of my account I was not able to withdraw or use those funds. And that is still the case today. On multiple occasions I have asked when will I be able to access my funds and they tell me when the account is closed I will receive a check in the mail for the remaining balance in my account. Which is not a problem but the issue is that they will not close my account due to the opened claims. I have tried over and over to access my funds in a different way and they will not work with my in any capacity.

Consumer Complaint: I received a letter in the mail from bank of America saying that my prepaid card was being discontinued and I needed to transfer any remaining balance to another card. At that point I called the bank to find out what they were talking about because I have never a bank of America card. This was XX/XX/XXXX. They told me the card was issued XX/XX/XXXX. It had {$430.00} onit back in XXXX. But there were two ATM withdrawals .they said the would send it to their fraud department. Well since then I have received THREE letter of denial. I've asked for the evidence they had to make their decision and they haven't sent me anything.

Consumer Complaint: It should have been easy! Bank of America emailed me about a fishy-looking check for {$14000.00} over XXXX. I called them when I logged in the morning after XXXX and told them I did not write the check and the check # was one of a series I had stopped, the stop fee waiver appearing on my statement. I had never heard of the payee. ____ Despite constant, increasingly frantic attempts by secure email, by fax, and by phone, it is just about a month now, and I have been unable to get the funds restored, or even get confirmation that they are working on the matter! Each time I call I get a different person who doesnt know what the others have told me, or about what was sent or faxed in. None of my emails or faxes were answered. Im at my wits end. Ive been a customer of the bank for 36 years. I shouldnt have to wait a month to get my funds restored on a check that is both fraudulent and stopped. The bank pays almost 0 % interest ; the only thing they are supposed to do is keep my money safe!. XXXX XXXX XXXX suggested that I contact you. Consumer Complaint: This is a letter detail the attempted fraud I sent to Bank of America... Dear BOA representative : I want to relay what appears to be an identity theft attempt on me that centered around Bank of America. I received a phone call this afternoon from a person who identified herself as XXXX, a BOA employee who wanted to alert me if a fraud attempt. She was calling me from a XXXX, Az. Number XXXX. Im hopeful that number is useful in getting to the bottom of this. She told me that a person named XXXX XXXX from XXXX, XXXX, had attempted to use my social security number that ended in XXXX ( her words ) to open a BOA credit card. She said the card was opened and ended in XXXX. I told her I did not apply for a new card and had no idea who XXXX XXXX was. She asked if I wanted to have the card process stopped, and nullified, and I said I did. She claimed to have taken care of it, but wanted me to talk to the XXXX XXXX XXXX ( there is such an entity, but its the XXXX XXXX XXXX. I was growing very skeptical at this point, and informed her it was bureau, not agency, and she said no matter, it goes by both names. She told me she wanted me to have the following two numbers before she transferred me to the agency, or bureau : Confirmation Code : XXXX Case ID XXXX By now I was more skeptical, but gave the OK for her to transfer me. I told the person I was transferred to that I was growing very skeptical and asked her how I could know she worked for the XXXX XXXX. She told me she was trying to keep my personal information safe, and told me the name of my mortgage company and the correct amount of the loan. She said she would give me her name, and a number to call back to reach her, to convince me of the legitimacy of her efforts. She claimed her name was XXXX XXXX and her number to be XXXX, ext. XXXX. I did call back and a receptionist routed me back to XXXX XXXX. She said I now must be satisfied this was a legitimate call, and I told her absolutely not. I said she could have given me any number and arranged that if I called back it would be routed to her. She grew angry at that point and said if I did not believe she was trying to help me on behalf of a government bureau there was nothing more she could do. She then hung up. I subsequently called Bank of America from a number on the back of my credit card and was told there was no evidence that someone had attempted to open a card. They had no record of XXXX XXXX. I also called the XXXX number listed above, and got a BOA recording. But when I attempted to use the prompts to reach an employee, I was cut off. Its elaborate with names, case files and some of my personal information. Im hoping the information helps you to get to the bottom of just what this is. Thanks XXXX XXXX XXXX
