Issue: Fraud or scam
Subissue:
Consumer Complaint: I was scammed by people impersonating XXXX and police and I ended up sending 3 cashier 's checks of {$140000.00} to the scammer on XX/XX/2023 from XXXX bank Bank of America. I filed a claim with BoA on XX/XX/2023, claim number XXXX, before the cashier 's checks were deposited on XX/XX/2023. Later that day, the checks were deposited. {$53000.00} and {$49000.00} was deposited to XXXX, {$40000.00} was deposited to XXXX XXXX. XXXX caught the fraud alert and froze the funds on XX/XX/2023. On XX/XX/2023, BoA sent me the Scam Victim Acknowledgment letter and I have signed and returned on the same day. On XX/XX/2023, the claim is closed and only {$51000.00} was recovered. This doesn't align with XXXX 's holding both {$51000.00} and {$49000.00}. The {$49000.00} is missing. I filed a complaint with XXXX and on XX/XX/2023 they stated BoA hasn't sent the hold harmless document to XXXX, please see the attachment of the statement from XXXX. So I followed up with BoA fraud department to reopen the claim and was denied. Since the $ XXXX is still holding at XXXX, I'm asking BoA to either reopen this claim or open a new claim and sending the hold harmless document to XXXX to recover this $ XXXX for me.

Issue: Incorrect information on your report
Subissue: Account status incorrect
Consumer Complaint: I notified Bank of America of reporting inaccurate information on my consumer report on XX/XX/2023 concerning an account ending in XXXX. Bank of America replied that they verified that all the information is correct and it seems to be my account. Bank of America did not read my letter concerning the nature of my letter. Reporting a charge off on my consumer report is inaccurate information. I am not disputing with Bank of America whether this previous debt was mine or not. I am disputing with Bank of America that reporting a charge off on my consumer report is furnishing inaccurate information. I have sent Bank of America evidence of the meaning of a charge defined by the IRS. According to the IRS all charge offs over XXXX dollars is considered income. According to Eperian income is not supposed to be reported by any furnisher to any Consumer Reporting Agencies. This tradeling account at the very least must be reported as paid for less in my consumer report. 15 U.S. Code 1681s2 - Responsibilities of furnishers of information to consumer reporting agencies. ( a ) Duty of furnishers of information to provide accurate information ( 1 ) Prohibition ( A ) Reporting information with actual knowledge of errors A person shall not furnish any information relating to a consumer to any consumer reporting agency if the person knows or has reasonable cause to believe that the information is inaccurate. ( B ) Reporting information after notice and confirmation of errors A person shall not furnish information relating to a consumer to any consumer reporting agency if ( i ) the person has been notified by the consumer, at the address specified by the person for such notices, that specific information is inaccurate; and ( ii ) the information is, in fact, inaccurate.

Issue: Problem with a lender or other company charging your account
Subissue: Transaction was not authorized
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/ an authorized charge was made to my account. Claim number : XXXX A fake name of XXXX XXXX was used. The last name clearly was attempting to imitate my XXXX last name. There is no one in my household, family, or friends with a name or XXXX. Another fake name of XXXX XXXX was used in an attempt to mimic my wifes name of XXXX XXXX. These are OBVIOUSLY not our names and perhaps were used to not raise red flags when the scammers were stealing our card info. Im not sure, my banks job is to investigate, NOT MINE! The fraudulent purchase appears to be 3 tickets to an even in TENNESSEE, I live in XXXX California and I have never been to Tennessee. No other purchases were made in Tennessee if you look at my account. The bank refused to accept my dispute because they reached out to the merchant and the merchant verified the purchase was authorized Im not sure how my bank can take on business and not conduct their OWN investigation. 1 - wrong name 2 - wrong email address 3- yes the scammers used my home address and had the card info Im sure thats what scammers would need to be considered scammers 4- wrong phone number Just because someone had my card info does not mean I authorized this purchase or {$760.00}! I notified my bank right away and they issued me a new card. Now they are refusing to accept the dispute even though I have stated time and time again none of the information is valid and this is clearly a fraudulent charge

Consumer Complaint: Request your assistance due to redlining activities by Bank of America ( BOA ). XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX lives in a largely XXXX community of XXXX California, has been trying to change her XXXX mortgage accounts to her estate since 2019. My mother recently passed away so I have been trying to do the same with BOA as her trustee with no avail. I have provided legal documentation that I am the trustee and the accounts have to be moved to the estate. I have received the same run around as my mother did and that BOA keeps losing the paperwork on numerous occasions. I believe BOA was hoping to take her properties away without notice and has been discriminatory in their actions.
