Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/, I submitted an application to American Express ( AMEX ) for an American Express Business Platinum Card. The amount was not determined. On that same day, my consumer report ( credit report ) was accessed by AMEX. After checking the FCRA, CFPB, U.S.C./CFR, and AMEX SEC filings, I began to reach out to Investor Relations Division, then specifically asking for the Chief Risk Officer, XXXX XXXX via voicemail. Not response has been given. Issue : According to the FCRA ( 15 U.S.C 1681 which holds authority under 16 CFR 602 ) denying or causing negative impact to a consumer report is adverse action ( section 603 ). I had not expected my credit report to be requested via third party because I offered my SSN. I was never notified of any adverse action information including ( 1 ) name, address and number of CRA ( 2 ) statement that CRA did not make this adverse action ( 3 ) Report is accessible for AMEX by CRA for 60 days ( 4 ) The right to dispute the information obtained by CRA. ( Section 615 ). Section 605A ( h ) has limitations imposed for obtainig a report for certain circumstances, including to establish new credit for a consumer. These are the deceptive and fraud acts spoken to be prevented by the CFPB in the AMEX SEC Filings. On page 17 of AMEX SEC Filings under the Consumer Financial Product Regulation states it is authorized to collect fines require consumer restitution in the event of violations '' ... ... '' promote availability of financial services to underserved consumers and communities ''. I am looking to speak with someone to receive remedy.

Issue: Trouble using the card
Subissue: Trouble using the card to spend money in a store or online
Consumer Complaint: Back in XXXX, I was given an AMEX e-gift card from my employer. I was able to use part of the balance before every single retailer denied the card. Online and in store retailers all denied the card, including big box stores like XXXX, XXXX, online at XXXX, grocery stores, XXXX XXXX, everything. I called AmEx customer service 6 different times. They all said to keep trying retailers until someone accepted the card, but that it was active and available to use. A supervisor told me the exact same thing. I can not use it anywhere.

Issue: Trouble using the card
Subissue: Trouble using the card to spend money in a store or online
Consumer Complaint: I was given this card as a gift a while ago. Anytime I have attempted to use it is declined. I have attempted in stores where American Express is accepted as well as many different websites that take American Express. In my research, i found that you may need to register the card with American Express in order for the card to work. I called and registered the card. I attempted to use it again on various websites that same day with no luck. After waiting a couple of weeks, I tried again thinking it just needed time to update in their system but no luck yet again. I'm sick of spending so much time online trying to figure out how to use a measly {$50.00} gift card. It's ridiculous. Do not waste your time gifting anyone with an American Express gift card. Make it easy and hand them the cash instead. If a card is needed, I have never had any issues using the XXXX one. At this point, I just want my {$50.00} so I can use it.

Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Card was charged for something you did not purchase with the card
Consumer Complaint: I closed my American Express credit card in XXXX, XXXX, and subsequently cut up and disposed of the card as my husband and I were no longer flying to destinations. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a notice from American Express that my credit card charge was overdue. I called American Express to inform them that this was a fraudulent charge and needed to be sent to the attention of their fraud department. Subsequently, I received notice from XXXX XXXX that I had an overdue account ( American Express ), so I filed a dispute with them. I called American Express again to find out what they needed to investigate this matter and personally spoke with their fraud department representative, but they offered no help. I looked up the charge myself and gathered the following information : around XX/XX/XXXX, someone used my American Express credit card number to make a purchase at XXXX ( which has a XXXX XXXX, CA, base ) in the amount of {$200.00} for an event titled " Loud Luxury ''. I once again called American Express with this information as they continued to send me statements for this charge, and my call was forwarded to the fraud department, so I inquired as to what more information they required. They responded with a letter dated XX/XX/XXXX, informing me I did not provide sufficient information for them to conduct a reasonable review of my claim. On XX/XX/XXXX, they sent me a letter to let me know the charges were now {$510.00} and they were transferring my account to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, for collection.

Consumer Complaint: I purchased a jacket via phone on XX/XX/2023 in XXXX, XXXX. The item was picked up on XX/XX/2023 when we travelled to that country. I reported a defect with the item in the direct on XX/XX/2023 but was told that the return policy is 14 days and hence I can't return the time and the store refused to fix it for me. I disputed the charged and the credit card, AMEX refuses to honor their obligation to protect my interest by confirming that the return policy is 14 days. However, 14 days should begin from the date I picked the item up and not when the store charged me for it. I am requesting a reimbursement of the cost of the jacket which is {$3000.00}
