Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX my business partner and I called to redeem the points as advised by the American Express team in order to transfer the primary card user to me. Once we got a hold of the membership rewards team to complete the task as advised we were told we were unable to as the point were under review and we should have got correspondence. I asked when did it go under review and it was that same day when we tried to redeem. We have been cardholders since 2016 and pay all the bills on time. We operate an e-commerce company and have built our accounts and points. Since we didn't want to lose all the hard work points we earned we decided to transfer. We have been nothing but loyal to Amex and don't understand why they decided to make things difficult to simply use the points we earned fairly.

Consumer Complaint: I have had an issue with my credit score and getting a SBA loan after American Express randomly pulled almost {$30000.00} of my credit limit - this dropped my score over 130pts. For background, I have never missed a payment on any card that I own and I had been a card member with Amex since XXXX. I had a {$16000.00} credit limit until around XX/XX/XXXX, and around that time I requested a limit increase and they moved it up to almost {$32000.00}, then by XXXX of this year they dropped my limit to {$1900.00} without warning or explanation. This is only a couple months after I quit my job to start my own company, and I had just purchased a house back in XX/XX/XXXX ( with an XXXX credit score pulled by the lender ), so really was a terrible time to have a credit score drop without explanation. I called American Express numerous times and at first they told me my credit limit was moved to {$1900.00} in XX/XX/XXXX - I said that is not true, I have statements that show otherwise ( I print them every month and have all PDFs saved since I opened the card in XXXX ). Anyway, they ended up telling me I had to send my financial documents to them. I sent them some, enough to prove I can cover the entire credit limit, and they never responded. When I reached out to them again, they told me that they made a " business decision '' and would not increase my credit limit. Next month, my score dropped 138pts. I filed a complaint with the XXXX, but the XXXX closed my complaint because American Express responded " We mailed the customer our response to this complaint '' and I had 7 days to reply to the message -- I still haven't received a response ( ~1-2 months past doing that now ) and the XXXX contact for my case will not return my calls. I am hoping we can find some way to fix this issue. I have just about drained my savings starting this business and I now have almost no way of getting any sort of financial aid despite an 800+ credit score for the 1-2 years ( until these last 7-8 months ).
